EU Mini Smart Socket

Product Information: Smart Socket EU Mini

The Smart Socket EU Mini is a smart power socket that allows you to control your appliances remotely using the Tuya Smart App. It has a rated voltage of 100-240V, a rated current of 16A (Max.), an AC frequency of 50-60Hz, and a maximum power of 3400W for 240V. The socket features an On/Off button that can be long-pressed to restore factory settings. It can be connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi home network and controlled through voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Home.

Product Usage Instructions:

1. Before first use, read the user manual carefully and keep it for future reference.
2. Check for any damage caused during transportation. If there is any damage, contact the supplier for replacement.
3. Download the Tuya Smart App from the App Store or Google Play by scanning the QR code provided in the manual.
4. Launch the Tuya Smart App and follow the in-app instructions to register an account and connect the Smart Socket to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi home network. You will be asked to provide your phone number during account registration in order to receive a verification code.
5. Plug the socket fully while using and make sure that the appliances connected to it do not exceed the maximum power of the socket.
6. Do not disassemble or install the socket, as it may cause security risks.
7. To control the smart devices using Amazon Alexa, enable Our Skills in Alexa App, say “Alexa, discover my devices” or click on Discover devices in Alexa App, and follow the in-app instructions. To control using Google Home, link your Smart Life account in Home Control and use the wake-up phrase “Hey Google” to give voice commands.
8. Keep the socket in proper condition and out of reach of children.

Download & Registration

Scan the QR code to download “Tuya Smart” APP from APP Store or Google Play. Launch TuyaSmart App and follow the in-app instructions to register an account and connect the Smart Socket to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi home network. You will be asked to provide your phone number during account registration in order to receive verification code.

Easy Mode

Preparation: Connect device with electricity, long press the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds until indicator light quickly flashes, the application already stepped into “Devices” interface.

• Phone has connected to Wi-Fi and is able to connect to the internet.
• Tap the “+” icon in the top right corner of “Devices”.
• Make sure the indicator light is flashing quickly, then tap the related button in application.
• Choose the local Wi-Fi and enter the correct password, then tap “Next”.
• Wait for successful configuration, then tap “Done”.

AP Mode

If failed in easy mode, automatically skip to AP mode, or tap the icon “+” in the top right corner of “Devices”. Enter into “Add Device”, tap “AP Mode” in the top right corner.

• Long press ON/OFF button until indicator light slowly flashes, then tap the related button in application, in the next interface, tap “Next”.
• Tap “Connect now”, choose Wi-Fi named “SmartLife-XXXX”, then go back to “Tuya Smart” application.
• Wait for successful configuration, then tap “Done”.
• Users can rename the device by tapping the pen icon in the middle of the interface.

Profile is required for users to manage personal information, mainly for those shown in the picture:

Notes

Please check if there is damage caused by transportation, if yes, please contact supplier for replacement. Please follow the instructions and keep products in a good and safe use conditions. Put the socket in proper condition and out of reach of the children. Plug the socket fully while using. The total power of electric connected appliances cannot be bigger than the maximum power of the socket. Do not disassemble or install the socket, otherwise there may cause security risks.

Requirements for using with Amazon Alexa

Note: Rename the device after configurating it successfully. The name of the device should be easily pronounceable in English

Enabling Our Skills in Alexa APP

Choose “Skills” in the options bar, then search “Tuya Smart” in the input box, Select “Tuya Smart” in the search results, then click “Enable skill”.
Note: If there are more options available in the results, test it and see which is the good one. There will be indication on the right showing that the account has been bound. You can click on the “Disable skill” to remove the binding, then click on the “Enable skill” to test another one. Input the username and password of your Tuya Smart App account.

When this screen appears, it means your Amazon Alexa account is linked with your Tuya Smart account.

Discovering Devices in Alexa APP

First, you should say to Alexa: “Alexa, discover my devices.” Alexa will start discovering the devices linked with your Tuya Smart App. It will take about 20 seconds. Or you can click on “Discover devices” in Alexa APP, which will show the devices that were found successfully.
Note: Any change of the device name in Tuya Smart APP will require re- discovering the device in Alexa APP.

Voice Controlling the Smart Devices by Alexa

Note: “Alexa” is one of the wake-up name of Amazon Alexa, which can be set to any of these three names: Alexa/Echo/Amazon.
Voice Commands and Controls:

• Alexa, turn on [bedroom socket].
• Alexa, turn off [bedroom socket].
• Alexa, turn on [Kitchen’s fan].
• Alexa, turn off [Kitchen’s fan].

Note: [Bedroom socket] and [Kitchen’s fan] is the name of the device you set when you added it to Tuya Smart APP.

Linking Smart Life Account in Home Control
Note: If your Google Home is already set up, then skip to this step.)
Attention: Due to Google Home APP’s known bug, you can only use one Google account to control “Home Control Actions”. If you sign in with several accounts, only the first one will be able to use  “Home Control”. Tap “Home Control” in the hamburger menu on the Google Home APP’s home page, then tap “+”. Find “Smart Life” in the list. In the new window, select your Smart Life account’s region. Put in your Smart Life account’s username and password, then tap “Link Now”. After you assign rooms for the devices, your devices will be listed in the Home Control page.

Voice Controlling the Smart Devices by Alexa
Note: “Hey Google” is the wake-up phrase of Google Home.
Voice Commands and Controls:

Warranty Conditions

A new product purchased in the Alza.cz sales network is guaranteed for 2 years. If you need repair or other services during the warranty period, contact the product seller directly, you must provide the original proof of purchase with the date of purchase. The following are considered to be a conflict with the warranty conditions, for which the claimed claim may not be recognized:

• Using the product for any purpose other than that for which the product is intended or failing to follow the instructions for maintenance, operation and service of the product.
• Damage to the product by a natural disaster, the intervention of an unauthorized person or mechanically through the fault of the buyer (e.g. during transport, cleaning by inappropriate means, etc.).
• Natural wear and aging of consumables or components during use (such as batteries, etc.).
• Exposure to adverse external influences, such as sunlight and other radiation or electromagnetic fields, fluid intrusion, object intrusion, mains overvoltage, electrostatic discharge voltage (including lightning), faulty supply or input voltage and inappropriate polarity of this voltage, chemical processes such as used power supplies, etc.
• If anyone has made modifications, modifications, alterations to the design or adaptation to change or extend the functions of the product compared to the purchased design or use of non-original components.
