Product Information

The Bead Roller Machine is a metalworking tool designed for creating beads and forming shapes in sheet metal for various applications such as automotive restoration, metal art, and custom fabrication. This machine comes in three models, WFBR24P, WFBR36P, and WFBR43, differing in their throat depth capacity, i.e., the maximum width of material that can be worked on.
The Bead Roller Machine comes with a stand, bead depth adjuster, bead rolls, a power cord, and a variable speed foot pedal. The machine operates on 110v voltage and can be switched between forward and reverse motion. The variable speed foot pedal allows adjusting the speed of the rolls as per the requirement of the job.

  8. Install the bead rolls onto the shafts, securing them with bolts and washers.
  9. Plug in the power cord and variable speed foot pedal into a 110v outlet.
  10. Step down on the foot pedal to determine if the rolls are turning in the direction you want to feed the metal from.
  11. If the rolls are not turning in the proper direction, flip the forward/reverse switch.
  12. Adjust the bead depth using the bead depth adjuster. This step will require experimentation to get the desired depth.
  13. Feed the metal through the rolls, applying pressure with your hands or using the bead roller guide if provided.
  14. Release the foot pedal once the desired section has been worked on.
  15. Repeat steps 11-13 for each section of metal to be worked on.

With proper use and maintenance, the Bead Roller Machine can provide accurate and consistent results while working with sheet metal for various applications.

You will need the manual for safety warnings and precautions, assembly instructions, operating and maintenance procedures, parts list, and diagram. Keep your invoice with this manual. SAFETY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

WARNING : When using tools, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to the equipment. Read all instructions before use!

  1. Keep the work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
  2. Observe work area conditions. Do not use machines in damp locations. Do not expose to rain. Keep the work area well-lighted.
  3. Keep children away.
  4. Store Idle Equipment. When not in use, tools must be stored in a dry location to inhibit rust and corrosion. Always lock up tools and keep out of reach of children.
  5. Use the right tool for the job. Do not attempt to force a small tool or attachment to do the work of a larger industrial tool. There are certain applications for which this tool was designed. Do not modify this tool and do not use this tool for a purpose for which it was not intended.
  6. Dress Properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they can be caught in moving parts. Protective, electrically non-conductive clothing and non-skid footwear are recommended when working. Wear restrictive hair covering to contain long hair. Wear proper hand protection when handling sheet metal.
  7. Use eye and ear protection. Always wear ANSI-approved impact safety goggles. Wear a full face shield if you are producing metal filings. Wear an ANSI-approved dust mask or respirator when working around metal, wood, and chemical dust and mists.
  8. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
  9. Maintain tools with care. Keep tools sharp and clean for optimum safety and performance. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
  10. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches. Check that all keys and wrenches are removed from tool or machine work surface before operating.
  11. Stay alert. Be aware of your surroundings.
  12. Check for damaged parts. Before using any tool, inspect all parts and equipment. Any part that appears damaged or shows signs of wear should be taken out of service or replaced before use. Check for alignment and binding of moving parts.
  13. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void warranty. Use only accessories intended for use with this tool. Approved accessories are available.
  14. Do not operate the tool if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Follow and observe warning labels if taking prescription medicine.
  15. Workpiece may be sharp. After bending or cutting workpieces use caution. Be aware of sharp edges, and use proper hand protection when handling the work piece.

WARNING : These warnings, cautions, and instructions outlined above and within this manual do not constitute all of the possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood that the operator of this tool be a competent person, capable of using this tool in a proper and safe manner for which it is intended.

Machine Setup

  1. Remove the machine from the packaging.
  2. Assemble stand-by bolting through the bottom of the stand with the M12X60 Allen bolt.
  3. Then secure the gusset from the top with (2) M8X16 bolts.
  4. Place the machine on top of the bead roller stand and secure using (2) M10X25 allen bolts.
  5. Remove the shoulder bolt holding the aluminum handle to the bottom of the bead depth adjuster.
  6. Place the aluminum handle on top of the bead depth adjuster and secure using the shoulder bolt.
  7. Remove the (2) M10X25 Allen bolts and washers from the ends of the shafts.
  8. Turn the bead depth adjuster counter-clockwise a few turns to allow room for the rolls to slide onto the shafts.
  9. Place the bead rolls on the shafts toward the machine. Either roll can be put either shaft, but we usually recommend that the male type roll go on the top.
  10. Secure the rolls to the shafts with the bolts removed in step #7 and snug them down.
  11. Unwrap the power cord and variable speed foot pedal.
  12. Plug in the 110v volt power.
  13. The machine is now ready for use.

Operation

  1. Step down on the foot pedal to determine if the rolls are turning in the direction you are going to feed the metal from.
  2. Release the foot pedal.
  3. If the rolls are not turning in the proper direction, flip the forward / reverse switch.
  4. Now you are ready to set your bead depth. This step will require some experimentation to get the proper depth so it is recommended that you use a scrap piece of the same material you want to bead roll.
  5. Do not start with the rolls completely closed as you may find that the rolls are too close together and find it difficult to feed the material.
  6. Lightly step down on the foot pedal and feed the metal in from the desired side of the machine. The foot pedal controls the speed.
  7. Turn the bead depth adjustment clockwise until you get the desired bead depth. Now you are ready to bead roll your panel.
  8. If you find that you need to change the direction of the rolls during a bead, release the foot pedal before changing from forward to reverse.
