medifab Starlight-NXT Car Seat
OVERVIEW
Fully adjustable special purpose car seat with inbuilt tilt function
INSTALLATION
- The Starlight-NXT should be installed in the back seat of a vehicle
- The mandatory points of installation:
- Engaged ISOFIX system
- The seatbelt must be used
- Ensure the Starlight-NXT’s back is in contact with the vehicle seat back (no big gap behind headrest).
Use
- Before starting each journey, check the ISOFIX is secured and ensure the swivel is locked
- Place the child in the seat, ensuring the shoulder straps are firmly secure and are level with the child’s shoulder height. If these are below the child’s shoulder height, the seat needs to be grown
- Ensure the buckle is done up at the front of the child, you should hear an audible click
- The harness should then be tightened using the grey strap at the front of the seat to ensure a supportive and snug fit
- Ensure the vehicle seatbelt is used EVERY time and that the child’s weight is appropriate for the selected belt path. Please refer to the labels on the side of the seat or info in the instruction manual for the appropriate belt path options and their corresponding weight capacities.
- If required, use the grey release pin on the side of the base to swivel the Starlight-NXT. If doing so ensure the seat is locked in place before travel
- Keep child’s fingers clear of moving parts and swivel latches.
- Familiarise yourself with the weight limit on your child’s seat and ensure they have not outgrown this. For the Starlight-NXT this is 36kg
- Periodically check for loose or missing parts.
WARNING
- Ensure child has not outgrown the weight capacity limit
- Ensure back is in contact with the vehicle seat back
- Ensure shoulder straps are firmly secure
- Starlight-NXT has two methods of routing for the vehicle seat belt; behind the child for weights between 9-18kg and as a booster seat with the belt over the front of the child from 15-36kg. Please consult the user manual for detailed instructions on how to restrain your Starlight-NXT.
