General information
  • Read this instruction manual carefully.
  • Keep the instruction manual and the product information safe for future reference or for the next owner.
  • Do not connect the appliance if it has been damaged in transit.

  • Only use this appliance:

  • For cutting up, chopping, mixing, grinding and beating food.

Do not let children play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children.

If the appliance or the power cord is damaged, this is dangerous.

  • Never operate a damaged appliance.

  • Never operate an appliance with a cracked or fractured surface.

  • Never pull on the power cord to unplug the appliance. Always unplug the appliance at the mains.

  • If the appliance or the power cord is damaged, immediately un-plug the power cord or switch off the fuse in the fuse box.

  • Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate.

An ingress of moisture can cause an electric shock.

  • Never immerse the appliance or the power cord in water or clean in the dishwasher.
  • Only use the appliance in enclosed spaces.
  • Never expose the appliance to intense heat or humidity.
  • Do not use steam- or high-pressure cleaners to clean the appliance.

If the insulation of the power cord is damaged, this is dangerous.

  • Add a maximum of 1000 ml of hot or frothing food.
  • Process hot food carefully.

  • Do not process food that is hotter than 50 °C in the To-Go blender jug.

Operating the appliance with damaged parts may result in injury.

  • Parts which show cracks or other damage or do not fit correctly must be replaced with genuine spare parts.

Soiling on surfaces may be harmful to health.

  • Follow the cleaning instructions.
  • Clean surfaces which come in contact with food before each use.

Avoiding material damage

ATTENTION! Improper use may cause material damage.

  • Do not operate the appliance at no-load.
  • Observe the maximum processing quantities.
  • Never use the blender jug in the microwave or oven.
  • Do not use the blender jug to store objects which do not belong to it.
  • Do not process food that is hotter than 50 °C in the To-Go blender jug.

Environmental protection and saving energy

Disposing of packaging

The packaging materials are environ-mentally compatible and can be re-cycled.

  • Sort the individual components by type and dispose of them separately.

Unpacking the appliance and parts
  1. Take the appliance out of the packaging.
  2. Take all other parts and the accompanying documents out of the packaging and place them to hand.
  3. Remove any packaging material.
  4. Remove any stickers or film.

Setting up the appliance
  1. Place the appliance on a stable, level, clean and flat work surface.

Rotary switch

The rotary switch is used to start and stop processing and select the speed.

Tip: You can adjust the speed sleeplessly between and ⁠.

Programme buttons

You can use the programme buttons to start the programmes for specific use cases or precleaning. Each pro-gramme button has a corresponding LED, which shows the operating status.

Note: When the To-Go blender jug is attached, only use the programme. The and programmes are not suitable for the To-blender jug.

Safety systems

Start lock-out
Start lock-out prevents your appliance from being switched on accidentally.
You can switch on and operate the appliance once the blender jug has been correctly positioned and the lid is locked.

Overload protection
The overload protection system pre-vents the motor and other components from being damaged through being overloaded.

Before using for the first time

Configure the basic settings. Clean the appliance and accessories.

Cleaning the appliance and parts
  1. Clean all parts that come into con-tact with food before using for the first time.

  2. Put the cleaned and dried parts out ready for use.

Cable length
Adjust the length of the power cable to your needs.

Adjusting cable length via cable storage compartment

  1. Pull the power cable out to the required length.
  2. To shorten the cable, push it into the cable storage compartment.

Using the blender to process food

WARNING: Risk of injury!
Improper use may cause injuries.

  • Only use the appliance once it is fully assembled.
  1. Prepare the food.
    For example, cut large items of food into pieces.

  2. Check the seal on the EasyClick blade insert. If a seal has been re-moved, reinsert it correctly.
    → Fig. 3
    Note:  The seal remains on the EasyClick blade insert for cleaning. If the seal is damaged or not cor-rectly positioned, liquid may run out.

    • The seal is seated in the groove.
    • The sealing lips point in the direction of the blender jug.
    • The smooth sealing surface lies against the EasyClick blade insert.
  3. Turn the blender jug upside down.

  4. Open the retaining bracket. → Fig. 4

  5. Align the EasyClick blade insert with the tap in the blender jug.

  6. Push the EasyClick blade insert into the blender jug and close the retaining bracket until it clicks into place.

  7. Set the rotary switch to → Fig. 5

  8. Place the blender jug onto the main unit and rotate in a clockwise direction until it locks into place.→ Fig. 5

  9. Add the food to the blender jug.

  10. Insert the measuring jug in the lid and place the lid on the blender jug.
    → Fig. 7
    The and markings must match up.

  11. Turn the lid in the direction until it clicks into place. → Fig. 8
    The lid must be completely closed.

    • The colour of the lock indicator for the lid changes from red to green.
  12. Insert mains plug.

  13. Set the rotary switch to ⁠. → Fig. 9
    The status display (LED) on the rotary switch lights up.

  14. Set the rotary switch to the recommended speed. → Fig. 10

  15. Process the ingredients until you achieve the required result.

  16. To end the operation, set the rotary switch to ⁠.

Using instantaneous switching
  1. Set the rotary switch to and hold it there. → Fig. 11
    • The ingredients are processed at maximum speed.
  2. Release the rotary switch.
    • The rotary switch jumps to ⁠.

Using programmes

Requirements

  • The blade insert is installed.
  • The blender jug has been attached and locked.
  • The blender jug is filled with the food or ice cubes.
  • The lid is attached and locked.
  • The rotary switch is set to  ⁠.
  1. Set the rotary switch to  ⁠. → Fig. 9

    • The status display (LED) on the rotary switch lights up.
  2. Press the ⁠ or Ice crush ⁠ programme button.

    • While the programme is running, the LED for the selected programme lights up and the status display (LED) goes out.
  3. Wait until the appliance stops.

  4. Set the rotary switch to ⁠. → Fig. 13
    Tip: To prematurely stop the programme, set the rotary switch to ⁠.

Pushing down food for processing
  1. Remove the measuring jug and insert the pusher into the filling opening. → Fig. 14
  2. Push down the food from the sides of the blender jug. → Fig. 14
Adding more ingredients
  1. During processing, remove the measuring jug and add the ingredients through the opening in the lid. → Fig. 15
  2. To add larger quantities, set the rotary switch to ⁠.
  3. Wait until the appliance stops.
  4. Turn the lid in the direction and remove it. → Fig. 16
  5. Add the ingredients. → Fig. 16
  6. Place the lid on the blender jug again and continue to process the ingredients.
Emptying the blender jug

Requirement: The appliance has stopped.

  1. Turn the blender jug anti-clockwise and remove it from the main unit. → Fig. 17
  2. To pour out just a portion of the processed food, use the spout.
    • Open the spout.
    • Place the processed food in a suitable container or serve immediately.
    • Close the spout. → Fig. 18
  3. To pour out all of the processed food, remove the lid. → Fig. 19
Processing food using the To-Go blender jug
  1. Prepare the food.
    For example, cut large items of food into pieces.

  2. Add the food to the To-Go blender jug. → Fig. 20

  3. Place the To-Go blade insert on the To-Go blender jug. → Fig. 20

  4. Screw the To-Go blade insert and the To-Go blender jug in tightly.
    → Fig. 21

    • The and markings must match up.
    • You can only connect the To-Go blade insert to the main unit when the To-Go blender jug is screwed on fully.
  5. Set the rotary switch to ⁠.

  6. Turn the To-Go blender jug upside down.
    → Fig. 22

  7. Place the To-Go blade insert on the main unit and rotate it in a clockwise direction until it locks into place.

  8. Set the rotary switch to the recommended speed.

    Tip: We recommend pausing operation several times when preparing smaller quantities of baby food in the To-Go blender jug.

  9. Process the ingredients until you achieve the required result.

  10. To end the operation, set the rotary switch to ⁠.

Closing the To-Go blender jug

Requirement: The appliance has stopped.

  1. Turn the To-Go blender jug anticlockwise and remove it from the main unit.
    → Fig. 25.

  2. Turn the To-Go blender jug and unscrew the To-Go blade insert.
    → Fig. 25

  3. Insert the seal for the lid.
    → Fig. 26

  4. Close the mouthpiece on the lid.
    → Fig. 26

  5. Screw the lid and the To-Go blender jug in tightly.
    → Fig. 26

Using the chopper grinder accessory to process food
  1. Prepare the food.
    For example, cut large items of food into pieces.

  2. Add the ingredients to the chopper- grinder attachment. → Fig. 27

  3. Place the chopper-grinder blade insert on the chopper-grinder attachment.

  4. Screw the chopper-grinder blade insert and the chopper-grinder attachment in tightly.

    • The and markings must match up.
    • You can only connect the chopper- grinder blade insert to the main unit when the chopper-grinder attachment is fully screwed on.
  5. Set the rotary switch to ⁠.

  6. Turn the chopper-grinder accessory upside down.

  7. Place the chopper-grinder accessory onto the main unit and rotate in a clockwise direction until it locks into place.

  8. Set the rotary switch to the recommended speed.

Emptying the chopper-grinder accessory

Requirement: The appliance has stopped.

  1. Turn the chopper-grinder accessory anti-clockwise and remove it from the main unit. → Fig. 33

  2. Turn the chopper-grinder accessory over and unscrew the chopper-grinder blade insert.
    → Fig. 33

  3. Empty the chopper-grinder attachment with the processed food.

Cleaning and servicing

To keep your appliance working efficiently for a long time, it is important to clean and maintain it carefully.

Dishwasher-safe components

ATTENTION!
Some parts may be damaged if they are put in a dishwasher.

  • Only put dishwasher-safe parts in the dishwasher.
  • Only use programmes that do not heat the water above 60 °C.
  • Do not wedge plastic parts in the dishwasher.

Using the cleaning programme

You can use the cleaning programme to preclean the blender jug and the blade insert.
Requirements

  • The blade insert is installed.
  • The blender jug has been attached and locked.
  • The blender jug is filled with cleaning fluid (700 g water + 1 drops of washing-up liquid).
  • The lid is attached and locked.
  • The rotary switch is set to ⁠.
  1. Set the rotary switch to ⁠.
    → Fig. 9

    • The status display (LED) on the rotary switch lights up.
  2. Press the programme button .
    → Fig. 12

    • While the programme is running, the LED for lights up and the status display (LED) goes out.
  3. Wait until the appliance stops.

  4. Set the rotary switch to ⁠.

  5. Turn the blender attachment anticlockwise and remove it from the base unit.

  6. Turn the lid in the direction and remove it.
    → Fig. 41

  7. Dispose of the cleaning fluid.

    • The most stubborn food residues are removed.
  8. Clean the components.

ATTENTION!
Using unsuitable food may damage the appliance.

  • Do not process food that is hotter than 50 °C in the To-Go blender jug.
  • Do not process food that is hotter than 70 °C in the blender jug.

Notes

  • Restrictions on processing in the blender:

    • Do not use it to chop ingredients like almonds, onions, parsley and meat.
    • It is only possible to mix spreads, such as peanut butter, coconut butter or nut spreads, with a suitable Bosch pusher.
    • The blender cannot be used to make mayonnaise.
    • Use enough liquid when mixing solid food.
    • Mix powdered food with sufficient liquid before blending, or dissolve it entirely in liquid. Examples of powdered food include icing sugar, cocoa powder, roasted soybeans, flour, protein powder.
  • Restrictions on processing in the chopper/grinder accessory:

    • Use instantaneous switching for coarse and fine chopping.

    • Do not grind very dry or solid food larger than coffee beans.
      Unsuitable food includes e.g. nutmeg and dry ginger.

    • Do not grind any sugar.

    • Do not chop ice cubes.

    • The chopper-grinder attachment cannot be used to produce nut spreads.

    • Chop a maximum of 50 g of solid food at maximum speed for a maximum of one second or 1 – 5 pulses unless otherwise indicated in the recipe table.

    • The chopper/grinder attachment is not suitable for fine chopping meat, e.g. for Bolognese.

Troubleshooting

You can rectify minor faults on your appliance yourself. Read the troubleshoot-ing information before contacting after-sales service. This will avoid unnecessary costs.

Transportation, storage and disposal

Disposing of old appliance

Valuable raw materials can be re-used by recycling.

  1. Unplug the appliance from the mains.
  2. Cut through the power cord.
  3. Dispose of the appliance in an environmentally friendly manner. Information about current disposal methods are available from your specialist dealer or local authority.

The guideline determines the framework for the return and recycling of used appliances as applicable throughout the EU.
