Please read and retain this important information for future reference. The tommee tippee digital bath & room thermometer is quick, accurate, and easy to use. This thermometer will help ensure your baby is comfortable during bath and sleep time. The optimal temperature for a baby bath is at body temperature, between 36.5°C and 38°C. The optimal room temperature for a baby is approximately 18°C.
WARNINGS
- Never leave your baby unattended in the bath for even the shortest period of time.
- Always keep the baby within arm’s reach when in the bath.
- Drowning can occur in a very short time and in shallow water.
- Children under 12 months are particularly vulnerable.
- Always use this product with adult supervision.
- It is good practice to run cold water to a bath first and then add hot water to increase the temperature.
- Always confirm the temperature of the water using your elbow, before placing the baby into the bath.
- If the bath temperature is too hot the water may cause burns to your baby.
- Never disassemble the thermometer other than when changing the battery.
- Do not store or leave in direct sunlight or near a source of heat.
- Do not store with or allow to come into contact with solvents or harsh chemicals
BATTERY WARNINGS
- Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type should be used.
- Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
- Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the thermometer.
- Risk of malfunction if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Replace with CR2032 sized battery. Dispose of the used battery according to the instructions.
- Keep batteries and devices out of sight and out of reach.
- Dispose of the used battery immediately. A flat battery can still be dangerous.
- If you suspect a child has swallowed a battery, immediately go to a hospital emergency room. Do not let the child eat or drink and do not induce vomiting.
INSTRUCTIONS
MEASURING ROOM TEMPERATURE
- Gently tap the thermometer on a hard surface to activate the display.
- The temperature will be displayed within a few seconds.
MEASURING BATH TEMPERATURE
- Gently tap the thermometer on a hard surface to activate the display.
- Stir water to avoid hot areas.
- Place the thermometer in the bath.
- The temperature will be displayed within a few seconds.
- When the temperature is above 39°C the LED light will illuminate. Reduce water temperature by adding cold water.
- When removed from bath, wipe dry.
CHANGING THE BATTERY
The thermometer is fitted with one CR2032 battery and has a life of about 1 year. After this time, when the display is dimmed the battery may need to be replaced by following the below instructions.
- Open the battery cover by turning it anticlockwise using a suitable tool.
- If the battery door is tightly embedded and does not come open easily, use a thin tool to gently lever at the edge of the battery door.
- Take out and replace the battery with a new CR2032-sized battery. Dispose of the used battery according to the instructions.
- When replacing the battery ensure the waterproof ring is in the correct position in the groove of the outer ring (fig. 1).
- Line up the three lugs on the battery door with the three grooves on the back of the thermometer and secure the battery cover by turning clockwise (fig. 2). Examine the thermometer and make sure the battery compartment is secure.
