RMS 450L Sonora Tower Honda Bracket
Congratulations on choosing the lightest, strongest tower available for your build!
Installing your Sonora is very simple, and can be done by anyone with basic
mechanical ability. The Sonora is designed to be a universal fit tower. Every
bike is a little bit different, and we can’t foresee all of the details of
your particular install, so the notes below are intended as suggestions to
help you make good decisions in fitting it to your bike.
Any modifications that you make to your bike are at your own risk.
Give us a call (01-604-374-5943) or
send us an email (store@rallymotoshop.com) if you
have any questions, or if there is any way we can help.
Tools and Supplies Recommended:
- 6mm Allen
- Ft/lbs or nm torque wrench with 6mm Allen bit
- Red and Blue Locktite (or equivalent)
- General tools for servicing your motorcycle
Installation Tips
- Remove the headlight mask and associated parts and secure the wiring out of the way.
- Position the Sonora Billet Mount on the frame bosses on the front of the motorcycle headstock, and drill to a depth of 20mm using the supplied drill bit.
- Tap both holes using the supplied tap
- Insert HeliCoil using provided tool following included Helicoil Instructions. Note: Red Loctite can be used to bond the insert in place.
- Install the Sonora Billet mount using the included M10 bolts using blue Loctite. Tighten to 20nm.
- The Sonora mounts onto its bracket using steel mounting bolts, nylon breakaway bolts, or a combination of the two. We generally recommend a steel bolt on the lower hole and a nylon one on the top.
- Most customers remove the stock odometer and ignition from their bikes, but if you want to keep the odo, we offer a Honda Odo mount for our Modular Roadbook Bracket.
- Ensure that all wiring is secured and protected from chafe through the full swing of the handlebars.
