Warning and Safety instructions
Safety notes and warnings for the rechargeable battery and charger
- The rechargeable battery and charger must be used for the variable transfer trolley. For safety reasons, the transfer trolley must not be used with a rechargeable battery or charger produced by another manufacturer.
- If you are using a mains plug adapter, make sure that it is approved for continuous operation.
- Stop using the rechargeable battery immediately if you notice an unusual smell from it, if liquid is leaking from it, if it is significantly overheating or if it is discoloured or deformed. Dispose of the rechargeable battery immediately.
- Batteries will deplete over time. They can then leak corrosive fluids. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin. In the event of contact, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical advice.
- Disposing of the rechargeable battery: remove the rechargeable battery from the transfer trolley. Insulate the metal contacts with adhesive tape to prevent short circuits. Dispose of the rechargeable battery in a municipal recycling facility. Do not dispose of the rechargeable battery with your household waste.
- Do not allow the rechargeable battery to come into contact with liquids.
- Do not cause a short circuit by bridging the contacts of the rechargeable battery, either unintentionally or deliberately.
- Do not dismantle the rechargeable battery.
- Do not drop or throw the rechargeable battery. For safety reasons, do not continue to use a rechargeable battery which has been damaged.
- Keep the rechargeable battery away from naked flames or other heat sources. Do not heat the rechargeable battery. Do not expose the rechargeable battery to direct sunlight.
Product Description
APLW 868 charging station
The external charger has been developed specifically for use as a wall-mounted
charging station for the APLW 869 battery. It is a switched-mode power supply
charger (SMPS) which makes the battery charging process more efficient. The
general operation of the APLW 869 battery is described in the operating
instructions for the ATT 86.
- Green LED (lights up when the power supply is connected)
- Yellow LED (lights up when the battery is charging)
The battery module takes less time to charge with the charger.
WARNING
The risk posed by conversions or modifications Please note that the charging
station and the battery must only be used for applications described in these
operating instructions. Alterations or conversion of the charging station, or
using it for purposes other than those for which it was intended, are not
permitted and could be dangerous. Miele cannot be held liable for damage
caused by improper or incorrect use or operation. Initial commissioning will
be undertaken by the Miele Customer Service Department or an authorized
technician, who will provide you with operating instructions.
Caring for the environment
Disposal of the packing material
The packaging is designed to protect against transportation damage. The
packaging materials used are selected from materials that are environmentally
friendly for disposal and should be recycled. Recycling the packaging reduces
the use of raw materials in the manufacturing process and also reduces the
amount of waste in landfill sites.
Disposing of your old machine
Electrical and electronic machines often contain valuable materials. They also
contain materials that, if handled or disposed of incorrectly, could be
potentially hazardous to human health and to the environment. They are,
however, essential for the correct functioning of your machine. Please do not,
therefore, dispose of it with your household waste.
Please dispose of it at your local community waste collection/recycling center or contact your dealer for advice. Ensure that it presents no danger to children while being stored for disposal.
