CLOWN GAMES Table Top Bowling Game

Instruction manual

The object of this bowling game is to knock over as many pins as possible with the special bowling balls.
Whoever has the most points after 10 frames wins the game.

Preparation

  • Find a flat surface, roll out the mat and place the magnetic strips at each end.
  • Place the pins (or skittles) in the correct position.
  • Divide up the players into teams or play individually.
  • To decide who will start the game, each player plays 1 bowling ball.
  • The person who knocks over the least number of pins may start.
  • Please note: you must knock over at least one pin.
Frames
  • A game of bowls is made up of 10 frames. You can throw two times in each frame.
  • You have just decided who may start: this player now makes his or her first throw (for a description of this, see under THROWING).
  • After this throw, you count the number of pins knocked over.
  • You remove these pins from the mat.
  • Now you can take your second throw.
  • You count the total number of pins knocked over and write this down on a piece of paper.
  • Then you place the pins back in their starting position. Now the other players take their turn to throw.

Strike

  • If you knock over all six of the pins in a single throw, you have scored a strike.
  • In this case, you can put all the pins back in position again ready for the second throw of your frame.
  • You can therefore get a maximum of 12 points in a frame.

Throwing

  • You hold the special bowling ball with your fingers and you flick it across the mat.
  • You begin at the section marked with the word START.
  • You must release the bowling ball before the ‘foul line’ or else the throw doesn’t count.
  • Your ball must stay within the lines of the mat; otherwise your ball ends up in the gutter and you don’t score any points.

Winning

  • Tot up all the scores together after the 10 frames.
  • The team or player with the highest number of points wins the game.
