Do not use extension cords or ungrounded (two prong) adapters.

The cooling device is designed for free-standing installation, but can be built-in if the following conditions are complied with to ensure satisfactory operation and maximum cooling efficiency.

  • The cooling device must be levelled carefully to ensure proper function.
  • For the glass door version: When ambient humidity is above 65 % in 25 °C (77 °F) ambient temperature, moisture will condense on the door.
  • The socket outlet for the mains connection must be freely accessible.
  • When the cooling device is positioned, the supply cord must not be trapped or damaged.

Ventilation (fig.3, page 4)

  • Ventilation must be provided as shown in alternatives A, B, C or D.
  • Ventilation grills (1), if used, must have openings of at least 200 cm² (31 sqin) each.
  • The minimum clearance between the cooling device‘s back and the surrounding structure should be as follows:
  • The ventilation duct must at least measure 105 mm (4.13″) x the width of the cooling device.
  • Only the entire cooling unit must project into the ventilation duct as shown.
  • Air passing through the ventilation duct must not be preheated by any source of heat.
  • The ventilation duct must be kept free from any obstacles. Especially portable multi socket outlets or portable power supplies, which can get warm, must not be kept at the rear of the cooling device.

Only store heavy objects such as bottles or cans on the bottom of the minibar.
NOTE
Before starting your new cooling device for the first time, you should clean it inside and outside with a damp cloth for hygienic reasons (please also refer to the chapter “Cleaning and maintenance” on page 21).

6.1 Saving energy

  • Choose a well ventilated location which is protected from direct sunlight.
  • If you want to set an increased energy efficiency and a limited cooling capacity for the cooling device, use the device’s ECO mode.
  • Allow warm food to cool down first before placing it in the cooling device to keep cool.
  • Do not open the cooling device more often than necessary.
  • Do not leave the cooling device open for longer than necessary.
  • If the cooler has a basket: For optimal energy consumption, position the basket according to its position on delivery.
  • On a regular basis, make sure the lid seal still fits properly.

6.2 Using the cooling device

WARNING! Risk of suffocation
If children climb into unused cooling devices and close the door behind them, they can suffocate inside the device.
If you are not going to use the cooling device for a long time, take the fol- lowing precautionary steps:

  • Remove the door.
  • Leave the shelves in place so that children cannot easily climb inside.

NOTICE! Risk of damage

  • Ensure that the objects placed in the cooling device are suitable for cooling to the selected temperature.
  • Ensure that food or liquids in glass containers are not excessively refrigerated. Liquids expand when they freeze and can therefore destroy the glass containers.
  • Ensure that your cooling device is well ventilated so that any heat created can dissipate. Otherwise proper functioning cannot be ensured. It is especially important not to cover the air vents.

To avoid food waste, note the following:
• Keep temperature fluctuation as low as possible. Only open the minibar as often and for as long as necessary. Store the foodstuff in such a way that the air can still circulate well.
• The minibar is equipped with an automatic temperature regulation function.
Select the average of the possible temperature values.
• Adjust the temperature to the quantity and type of the foodstuff.

  1. Place the cooling device on a firm base.

  2. Connect the connection cable to the AC mains supply.
✔ The cooling device starts cooling the interior.

  3. Set the temperature controller (fig.1 1, page 3) to the desired position:
    – max: lowest temperature
    – min: highest temperature

  4. If you wish to switch the cooling device off, pull out the connection cable.

  5. Clean the interior to make sure it is dry enough.

6.3 Locking the door

  • Turn the key a quarter turn to the left to lock the cooling device (fig.r, page 11).

6.4 Replacing the lamp
NOTICE! Risk of damage!
The lamp can only be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent or similarly qualified person to avoid hazard.

Cleaning and maintenance

WARNING! Electrocution hazard
Always disconnect the minibar from the mains before you clean and service it.
NOTICE! Damage hazard

  • Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or hard objects during cleaning as these can damage the minibar.

  • Never use hard or sharp tools to remove ice or to free objects frozen onto the minibar.

  • Do not use any mechanical tools or any other tools to speed up the defrosting process.

  • Clean the minibar regularly and as soon as it becomes dirty with a damp cloth.

  • Make sure that no water drips into the seals. This can damage the electronics.

  • Wipe the minibar dry with a cloth after cleaning.

  • Check the condensate drain regularly.
Clean the condensate drain when necessary. If it is blocked, the condensate collects on the bottom of the minibar.

  • At annual intervals, remove dust from the cooling aggregate at the back of the cooling device using a brush or a soft cloth.
