SAFETY TIPS
It is essential that you read these instructions carefully and observe the following recommendations :
- For your safety, this appliance complies with the applicable standards and regulations (low voltage, electromagnetic compatibility, environmental directives, etc.).
- This appliance should not be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been given instructions beforehand concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

- This appliance is designed for domestic use only. It should not be used for industrial purposes.
- The warranty will be invalidated if damage occurs due to incorrect use.
- Do not operate this appliance in a very dusty and/or humid place or in a location with fire hazards.
- Before use, always make sure that the appliance, plug and power cord are in good condition.
- Never insert objects into the appliance (e.g. needles, etc.).
- Do not pull on the power cord or the appliance, even to unplug it from the wall power outlet.
- Unroll the full length of the cord before use.
VERY IMPORTANT
- Do not cover the air inlets or the outlet grid.
- Do not touch the appliance with wet hands.
- Never allow any liquid to enter the appliance.
- Never use the appliance in a humid place.
- Never use the appliance close to a heat source.
- Never place anything on the appliance or insert anything into it.
- Do not use the appliance close to flammable objects or products (curtains, aerosols, solvents, etc.).
- Never use the appliance in an inclined or horizontal position. Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface.
- In the case of prolonged absence: switch the appliance off and unplug it.
- Switch off and unplug your appliance before moving it.
- The air purifier must be unplugged during assembly and cleaning.
RECYCLING
LET’S HELP PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT!
Your appliance contains valuable materials and Lithium-Ion batteries which
can be recovered or recycled. Leave it at a local waste collection point or
take to an approved service center so that it can be processed.
Battery recycling
This appliance contains batteries that are only replaceable by skilled
persons. When removing Lithium-Ion batteries, completely discharge the
batteries before disassembly Open the housing of the device with a tool and
disconnect the connections to recycle the batteries safely.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE
The new Pure Home purifier from Rowenta/Tefal enables you to breathe an air
with up to 100% of allergens filtered thanks to 4 filtration levels as
described below. Each level is essential and traps characteristic pollutants:

HOW TO ACHIEVE CLEANER INDOOR AIR
In addition to using your air purifier, here are some tips on how to
improve the quality of your indoor air:
- Ventilate the rooms for at least 10 min. every day, in summer and winter.
- Maintain your ventilation system.
- Limit the use of household products.
- Do not smoke indoors.
- Avoid home fragrances, incense sticks, scented candles, etc.
- Ventilate whenever any work is being conducted in your home and for several weeks afterwards.
- Avoid green plants that are allergenic or need frequent watering.
GETTING STARTED
WHERE TO INSTALL THE APPLIANCE
Place the purifier on a flat, stable surface in the room requiring treatment.
To allow the air to circulate freely, avoid placing the appliance behind
curtains, below a window, item of furniture or shelf unit, or close to any
other obstacle, and leave at least 50 cm of free space on each side of the
appliance.
BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Make sure that the plastic packaging protecting the filters has been removed
before using the appliance. Also make sure that:
- The voltage of your electrical installation corresponds to the one indicated on the appliance.
- Your appliance can be used with a power plug without an earth connection. It is a class II appliance (double electrical insulation),
- The appliance is positioned in the house as described above,
- The air inlet and outlet grids are completely unobstructed,
- Ensure the 3-in-1 filter, NanoCaptur+ filter and back door have been correctly installed. This appliance is fitted with a device that automatically prevents it from operating if the filter block hasn’t been inserted correctly and locked.
HOW TO CONNECT YOUR PURIFIER TO THE INTERNET
Download the app “Pure Air by Rowenta” & follow the instructions on your smartphone:
1. Sign in to create your Rowenta account if you are new. Or log in the app if you already have an account.| 2. Make sure to stand close to the purifier during the pairing (2 meters maximum) and make sure the purifier is located near a strong Wi-Fi signal.

Wi-fi function
To launch a new pairing press the WIFI button for 3 seconds.
- When the light is on, the product is paired/connected.
- When the light is flashing quickly then slowly, the product is pairing/connecting to the WIFI/servers.
- When the light is off, the product is not connected.
To turn off the Wi-Fi function, hold simultaneously the WIFI + TIMER buttons for 4 seconds. To turn it back on, press the WIFI button for 3 seconds.
Product reset
You can do the reset on the product (with the air quality box plugged on it):
- Press together the TIMER + ALLERGEN MODE buttons for 8 seconds
- First, the appliance will make a bip to indicate Reset is launched. Then the appliance will erase all data regarding pairing.
- Once it’s done, the product will make a long bip and turn off.
- Unplug and replug the main unit to finalize the reset procedure
Or on the air quality box:
- Go into settings (refer to the section « Air Quality Box »)
- Select « reset the product »
- Press « validate »
- First, the appliance will make a bip to indicate Reset is launched. Then the appliance will erase all data regarding pairing.
- Once it’s done, the product will make a long bip and turn off.
- Unplug and replug the main unit to finalize the reset procedure
Note: this resets the product including the wifi connection settings.

OPERATION
INDICATION OF AIR QUALITY
There are 3 sensors on the product: PM (2,5/10), VOC, & humidity.
Your product will compute a global measurement of air quality level based on
the VOC & particles values through a dedicated algorythmn giving you this 5
Air Quality Index:

MAIN PURIFIER FUNCTIONS
Power button (4):
Plug the product in the power socket. Press the power button to switch the air
purifier on or off.
NB: The last mode or speed is memorized when the product is put in stand- by/switched off.
Timer button (6):
Press this button to launch the timer. You can select 1h,2h,4h or 8h.
NB: When the box is unplugged, the timer still runs on the purifier. A timer set directly on the product will prevail over a previous scheduling set on the app.
Speed button (7):
Press this button to manually select the desired speed. There are 10 speeds
available including silent speed (speed 1) and turbo speed (speed 10).
NB: It is still possible to select the speeds when the air quality box is unplugged but the speed selection will only be visible on the app during that time.
Mode button (8):
Press this button to select one of these two modes: AUTO DAY and AUTO
NIGHT.
On AUTO DAY and AUTO NIGHT modes: if the air quality level is excellent then the device does not run.
- Daytime auto-mode: the fan speed is set to 1,3,5 or 7.
- Nighttime auto-mode: the fan speed is set to 1,2 or 3.
NB: These two modes are only available when the air quality box is plugged on the product.
Allergen mode button (9):
Press this button to select the allergen mode. It is a special mode with
increased sensor sensitivity and increased speed compared to the AUTO DAY
mode. In this mode, the fan speed is set to 1,3,5,7 or 9.
NB: This mode is only available when the air quality box is plugged on the product.
AIR QUALITY BOX
The use of the Air Quality Box is split into two main operation modes:
- Screen mode: where the air quality box is plugged on the purifier and acts as a screen to display all the air purifier functions.
- Measurement mode: where the air quality box is unplugged from the purifier and used to take measures of the air quality in your home.
First use
Plug the Air Quality Box on the air purifier by pressing on both sides of the
box.

Press for 3 seconds to turn on the box or switch on the purifier by pressing the power button (4).
Important: this is not a touch screen but a touch panel. Only press and Navigation buttons. -
Choose your language by scrolling with the navigation button (11) and pressing (10) to validate.

Long press (3 seconds) on to put the box in standby mode (both when plugged on and unplugged from the purifier).
Screen mode
When plugged, the Air Quality Box acts as a screen to display all the air
purifier functions (timer, speeds, modes).
The main screens are displayed as follow:
Homepage
- Displays the level of pollution in the room according to the 5 color index of air quality.
Detailed measures
• Displays the level of particles & allergens and Gas & VOCs in the room according to the 5-color index of air quality.

Historic function
• Live air quality tracking, based on the 5-color index, over one hour time.
• This historic function is also available on the app, with the measures saved over 3 days.
NB : the measures made in ‘measurement mode’ do not appear on this graph. The data can only be shared with the app when the air quality box is plugged into the product on screen mode.

Settings
• After the first time use, press the navigation button for 3 seconds to access the settings page..
Here you can access the language selection, filter management and reset of the product.

MEASUREMENT MODE
The Air Quality Box doesn’t communicate with the purifier when it is
unplugged. You can track the air quality anywhere in your home with the Air
Quality Box. Its full autonomy when unplugged is of 8 hours.
To take a measure with the box, follow these instructions:
1. Unplug the box by pushing on both sides
• Whatever the setting on the air purifier (manual or auto modes) : the current speed is maintained
• Possibility to manually change speeds via the control panel but no access to auto modes

2. A message is displayed on the box, advising you to place the box on a flat
surface to take a measure of the air quality|
3. Once ready, press to start the analysis of the air quality.|
After 15 seconds, the homepage is displayed with the advice to launch a purification if the air quality is anything except « excellent »
To get more detailed information on the level of Particles & Allergens, or Gas & VOCs, press
Replug the box on the air purifier by pushing both sides and launch a purification if needed/wanted.
All the following features are unavailable when you are in measurement mode, with the air quality box unplugged:
- TODAY, AUTO NIGHT & ALLERGEN modes
- Historic function
Important:
The alert light (3) will be flashing when the air quality box is unplugged and
the user is trying to set the today, auto night or allergen modes, as they are
not available in measure mode.
MAINTENANCE
Always switch the appliance off and unplug it before conducting any maintenance operation. You can clean the appliance with a slightly damp cloth.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use any abrasive materials, as these may damage the surface of the
product.

This appliance is equipped with 4 types of filters:

These figures are based on tests in which the air purifier is used for 8 hours
per day in silence mode, for 10 months. The recommended frequency for cleaning
and replacing the filters may vary depending on the duration of use and the
operating environment. Refer to the app and the Air Quality Box to get exact
information on when to change
your filters.
You may need to replace the filters more often depending on the air quality and how often the air purifier is used. When one of the filters arrives at the end of its life (3-in-1 filter) OR needs to be checked (NanoCaptur+ filter) OR needs to be cleaned (pre-filter), an alert will appear on the air quality box main screens. You will also receive a notification on your mobile application.
Important!
When an alert about filter saturation pops up on the screen of the air quality
box, pleas click on it or check your mobile application in order to know which
filter has to be cleaned/replaced. The pre-filter can be cleaned with a dry
cloth.
Important: Resetting the filter
After replacing the filter, click on the alert and follow the instructions to
reset the filter. Or go into settings directly.
Performing a force reset:
If you replace a filter before the end of its lifespan, go into settings by
pressing 3 seconds on the navigation button. Select ‘filter management’ and
follow the instructions to reset the filter.

DISASSEMBLING/REASSEMBLING FILTERS
TIPS FOR CHANGING FILTERS
- Avoid handling used filters if you suffer from allergies or asthma.
- Wear gloves and a mask when changing the filters, and wash your hands well afterward.
- Put used filters directly into a closed, air-tight bag before throwing them away with your household waste to avoid spreading pollutants.

Caution:
- Please note: certain filters may emit a temporary slight odour, due to the transport and storage conditions. This odour will vanish and is not dangerous for people.
- The appliance efficiency can be reduced if the pre-filter is not cleaned regularly.
- The pre-filter should be cleaned regularly with a dry cloth or vaccum, but not with water.
- For optimum performance of the appliance, only use filters provided by Rowenta/Tefal.
GRID
Follow these instructions to remove the upper grid, for cleaning or removal of
an object who might have fallen through it:
STORAGE
When you are not using the appliance, store it in a cool, dry place.
IN THE EVENT OF A PROBLEM
Never dismantle your appliance yourself. A poorly repaired appliance can cause risks for the user. Check the troubleshooting table below before contacting an approved Service Center:

IMPORTANT:

FEW MINUTES AND THEN PLUG IT BACK IN.
WARRANTY
Do not use the appliance and contact an Approved Service Centre if:
- Your appliance has been dropped;
- Your appliance or its power cord are damaged;
- Your appliance no longer functions properly.
- You can find a list of Approved Service Centres on the Rowenta international warranty card.
