Introduction
About this software
Ideas VisualCam is a multi-functional education visualizer software specially designed for visualizers, it provides a full-screen window and various annotation functions that allow you to directly add annotations on the live window by using the free-hand drawing tools, enable the mask or spotlight modes, zoom, and rotate the image, freeze the live video, change the resolution, and adjust brightness. With this powerful visualizer software, you can easily present or pre-record any teaching materials in various ways, like taking snapshots, recording videos by enabling picture-in-picture, scanning documents, creating stop motion videos, comparing images by split-screen, or using the interactive whiteboard function.
WARNING: This visualizer software ONLY works with Ideao DC400 and Innex DC500. If you are using 3rd party products this software may NOT work.

System Requirements
To ensure the performance of your document camera, the following hardware
system is required.

Hard Disk
| The installation and operation of the program requires 1G
disk space. You can scan more images if the disk space is bigger. The recommended storage is 20G.

NOTE: System requirements and compatibility may change over time due to updates in the Windows operating system.
Installing the software
- Double-click the Ideao VisualCam.exe file to install the software.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
- Click [Finish] to complete the installation.
Uninstalling the software
To remove Ideao VisualCam from your PC, click the Windows Start Menu, then go to All Programs > Ideao VisualCam folder > Uninstall Ideao VisualCam.
Getting Started
To start the program, double-click the Ideao VisualCam icon on the desktop or select Ideao VisualCam from the Windows Programs list.
Click the Windows Start Menu > All apps > Ideao VisualCam folder > Ideao VisualCam.
When the document camera is connected to the desktop/laptop, it automatically enters Visualizer live video mode.
NOTE: If you don’t see the real-time preview video from the camera and a [Detecting devices…] message is displayed in the middle of the main window, check the following items in sequence.
Check the USB connection
- Ensure that Windows recognizes the device in Device Manager under ‘Cameras.’
- If the device is not detected, try connecting it to a different USB port.”
For Windows 11
- Go to ‘Privacy & Security’ > ‘Camera’ to ensure that ‘Camera access’ and ‘Let desktop apps access your camera’ are both enabled. Also, check that Ideao VisualCam is included in the list of allowed apps.
Whitelist Ideao VisualCam in Anti-Virus software
- If you have installed anti-virus software, please make sure Ideao VisualCam is added to the whitelist.
User Interface Description
The following is the description of the VisualCam software user interface.
Function Tabs
The IDEAO VisualCam software integrates three main functions. You can switch between them by clicking on the tabs.
Select Connection
- Click the icon at the left upper corner to choose the device connection method. (AP mode or Client mode are not available for Ideao DC400 / Innex DC500)

This mode allows you to connect the document camera by USB wired connection.

| Wi-Fi p2p (AP Mode) connection.
This mode allows you to connect the document camera directly without an internet connection.,
NOTE: This connection is only available for the Wi-Fi model.

| Wi-Fi STA (Client Mode) connection.
This mode allows you to connect the document camera through a router.
NOTE: This connection is only available for the Wi-Fi model.
Left Toolbar
On the left side toolbar, there are many useful control tools available. For more details, please refer to the 4.1 Left-side toolbar function.
Image Adjustment Menu
Click the menu icon to expand the image adjustment menu, you can use the following tools to adjust the live video in the preview window. For more details, please refer to the 4.2 Image adjustment menu.
Capture modes
Click the up-arrow icon in the bottom toolbar to switch the capture mode.

Thumbnail List
Right-click on a thumbnail in the right-side output listing of the main window
to see the following options.

File Save Path
On the bottom right of the main window, there are options for setting the
directory for saving files:

Settings
General Settings: Click the gear icon in the upper right corner to access the settings page.

NOTE: The PTZ navigation view only appears when zooming in on the video.

Document Settings:

· Low Compression Rate (High image quality, bigger size)
· High Compression Rate (Low image quality, smaller size)
5| Choose the language for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) in scanned documents.
Note: Please note that the OCR feature is only available when the output format
is set to PDF (Searchable) or PDF (Text).

Visualizer Mode Description
The visualizer mode allows you to show footage from a document camera. There are many useful functions available in the left toolbar, all of which can enhance your presentation.
Left-side toolbar function
Image Adjustment Menu
Click the menu icon to expand the image adjustment menu. You can then use the following tools to adjust the image feed from the visualizer.
Select Capture Mode
Click the up-arrow icon at the bottom to switch between capture modes.
Split-Screen Mode
With the Split-Screen function, you can connect two document cameras to your computer and display their feeds side-by-side. This allows you to present two live screens simultaneously. You can also compare a still image with a live video.

The split-screen bottom toolbar includes three icons: one for taking screenshots, one for recording screens, and one for changing the display layout.
Show live footage from 2 cameras
To view live footage from two cameras, click the menu icon on the right
window, then select ‘Switch to Camera.’ Next, choose ‘Device’ to display the
list of cameras and select the desired camera.
If you select the same camera source for both the left and right windows, the same footage will be displayed on both sides. However, you can freeze the footage on one side while keeping the other side live.
You can also select a different camera, for example, showing footage from a document camera on one side and your face from a webcam on the other.
Compare images
Split screen mode allows you to compare multiple images on one screen.
- Click the bottom-right icon to expand the file output list.
- Drag an image from the output list and drop it into the compare window
- You can zoom in or out and rotate the image for the best view.
- NOTE: The split-screen mode supports comparing up to 4 images at a time.
Change the display layout
The split-screen mode allows you to change the display layout by clicking the switch button.
NOTE: To remove one of the split windows, click the icon in the top-right corner of the window you want to remove.
Whiteboard Mode
The whiteboard mode allows you to draw and annotate on the interactive whiteboard. In this mode, you can drag and drop selected images from the right-side file list onto the whiteboard and add annotations to enhance class interactivity.

Whiteboard mode provides a multi-page canvas with all the drawing tools you need.
Add an image to the whiteboard
The whiteboard mode allows you to insert the images into the whiteboard.

Drag an image from the list and drop it onto the whiteboard.

You can crop, duplicate, or remove images as needed.

You can also use the rotation handle to rotate images or use the resize handles to adjust the image size.
Add a whiteboard page
To add a whiteboard page, click the Add page icon and choose a background color.
You can also click the icon to display the page navigation and select the page to view.
Troubleshooting
Ideas VisualCam does not detect the connected device, please check the following.
- Ensure you are using a supported camera.
- If you are using a third-party document camera, you may not have access to all of the software’s functions. Only Ideao DC400 and Innex DC500 are supported.
- Try Changing the USB port
- If the visualizer is connected to the PC along with other USB devices, try disconnecting the other devices
- Ensure that the visualizer is not being used by any other application.
- Check if the camera is being used by other applications in Windows. If so, exit those applications and try again.
- Turn off the virtual machine
- If your Mac is running a Windows virtual machine (e.g., “Parallels Desktop”), please turn it off and reconnect the device.
- Check the USB connection
- Ensure that Windows recognizes the device under “Cameras” in the Device Manager. If the device is not detected, try connecting it to a different USB port.
For Windows 10 / 11 computer
Go to ” Privacy & Security” > “Camera” to check please ensure the following.
- ‘Camera access’ is turned on
- ‘Let desktop apps access your camera’ is turned on.
- Ideao VisualCam is in the list
