LAGUNA 12 Feet Round Above Ground Pool
Important Information
Read Instructions completly before installing liner
- Vinyl liners are best installed in warm, sunny weather.
- Overlap liners will be held in place with plastic coping strips.
- Hung or beaded liners will be attached to the liner reciever. Follow pool installation instructions for reciever installation.
- Pool bottom needs to be prepared per pool instructions prior to liner installation.
- Round and Oval liners install in similar steps, the oval liner sidewall seam will typically be aligned
along the straight side of pool. Oval liners need to be straight and aligned properly with the shape of the pool, before filling with water. Round liners also need to be evenly distributed along the edge of the sidewall. If the liner is not distributed evenly and aligned properly, wrinkles and bunching of the liner can occu.
Overlap Liners
If stabilizer rails were used to help hold the wall up, then you will need to take them off while instal ing the liner. Do Not place the liner seam directly over the skimmer or return cutouts. Carefully place the liner in pool near pool sidewall, unfold toward the center of pool. Start the liner for an Oval pool in the center of the rounded end. Work the liner around the top of the sidewall, keeping the liner centered. Be careful when walking around pool bottom. Smooth out any rough areas. Spread the liner so that the bottom edge seam of the circumference is resting on the cove evenly around the pool. The seam should not be up on the wall or shifted to one side. These conditions will cause tightness and could cause the liner to slip when the pool is being filled. Starting at the liner sidewall seam, hang the liner over the wall making sure that the seam is straight up and down, perpendicular to the floor. Refer to illustrations below.
This will assure that the liner begins going over the wall straight. As you put the liner over the wall secure it by using the plastic coping strips to keep it in place; stabilizer rails may be needed to keep the wall rigid. If you end up with excess material, continue around the pool, pulling excess liner evenly, and distribute over the wall until the excess is gone. Remove any floor wrinkles in the liner by tapping gently on liner sidewall at the bottom, moving material to the side of pool. When satisfied with fit continue to the next step.
Complete top rail assembly and vertical assembly per pool installation instructions before continuing.
If vacuuming in, block off the skimmer opening with duct tape. Insert the vacuum hose through the return opening and seal off using duct tape (you are trying to make it air tight). Make sure the vacuum hose has no sharp edges. Turn on the vacuum. In a short time the liner will be drawn to the pool wall. If any wrinkles exist, turn vacuum off and readjust liner. Turn vacuum on once again and check for wrinkles, if satisfied leave vacuum running. Place a sock over garden hose and tape in place, this will protect liner from any sharp edges on end of hose. Begin to fill pool. Keep an eye on the liner while filling to make sure it doesn’t slip. If wrinkles develop, you can likely work them to the side if you catch it soon enough. After you have 12 inches of water in the pool you can turn off the shop vac, remove vacuum hose and continue filling. Do not cut liner for skimmer or return until at least 2 feet of water are in pool.
If you are not vacuuming in, begin filling pool, using a broom with soft bristles, gently tap along the bottom edge to pull any wrinkles toward the pool wall. If any wrinkles develop toward the middle of pool it may be necessary to get in the pool and try and work them out by hand. When satisfied, continue filling pool, keeping an eye on liner to make sure it doesn’t slip. Do not cut liner for skimmer or return until at least 2 feet of water are in pool.
Please take the time to read and understand all the safety literature provided. Apply all safety decals and signs.
It is mandatory that the pool owner and installer follow the installation and use directions for all provided safety signs and decals.
Remember, warnings only help if you put them up.
See illustrations below.
Failure to follow installation instructions will damage the pool liner and
void the warranty.
Beaded Liners
(See illustration below for typical beaded liner and reciever).
Refer to Overlap Liners for placing and positioning liner in pool.
Once the liner reciever is installed, attach the liner to the reciever starting at the sidewall seam, remember to install oval liners after you have aligned the liner with the shape of the pool, this will prevent any bunching or pleating. Never install the liner seam over the skimmer of return cutouts.
Top rails and verticals need to be installed per pool assembly instructions before filling with water.
Once the liner is installed in the reciever and it is aligned correctly, remove any floor wrinkles by gently tapping along the bottom edge with a soft bristle broom, moving material to the side of the pool wall.
When satisfied with fit, block off skimmer opening with duct tape, if vacuuming in, and insert vacuum hose through the return opeing and seal off using duct tape. Make sure the vacuum hose has no sharp edges. Turn on the vacuum. In a short time the liner will be drawn to the pool wall. If any wrinkles exist, turn vacuum off and readjust liner. Turn vacuum on once again and check for wrinkles, if satisfied, leave the vacuum running and begin filling with water. Fill pool with 12 inches of water before turning vacuum off. Remove vacuum hose and continue filling pool. Do not cut out any openings for skimmer or return until at least 2 feet of water are in pool.
If not vacuuming in, begin filling pool, working along the bottom sidewall
edge tapping with a soft bristle
broom to remove any wrinkles, if wrinkles appear stop filling and work them
toward the pool wall. Continue filling pool to a water level of at least 2
feet before cutting any openings for skimmer or return.
Follow the pool installation guide to complete pool assembly.
Please take the time to read and understand all the safety literature
provided.
