ASSEMBLY
Plastic parts are already fitted to your carabiners. Before you hang the Motor Original, the carabiners must be fitted. The carabiners must be attached from the side, otherwise they cannot be turned properly into place. Both carabiners must be installed with the narrow end pointing towards the motor. See illustration 4.
It is important that you lock your carabiners during installation. This is done by tightening the safety lock. Avoid overtightening the safety lock.
MOUNTING
- Start by assembling and installing your Moonboon mounting system. If you hang your Motor Original from a ceiling hook, it is important you read the section on WEIGHT first.
- Attach the two carabiners to your Motor Original in accordance with the ASSEMBLY instructions on page 4. Hang the Motor Original with the top carabiner and plug in the power supply to the small hole at the top of the cradle bouncer. The cradle bouncer requires a constant power supply to operate.
- Make sure that the cable does not trail down next to the cradle bouncer, but is routed away from the setup. Otherwise, the cable can create unwanted oscillations in the cradle bouncer. Your Moonboon product comes with an included spring. Attach the spring to the carabiner at the bottom of the motor, and then mount the baby hammock or cradle onto the spring. Be sure to securely lock the safety carabiners once your product is properly mounted.
- Next, the motorwire with the small s-hook must be mounted onto the baby hammock or cradle. The motorwire is the connection that ensures continuous movement between the Motor Original and your chosen product. The motor wire is located at the bottom of the Motor Original and must be pulled out manually. The last part of the wire consists of a short nylon cord with a S-hook. Mount the motor wire by leading the nylon cord and s-hook down and around the top of the baby hammock or cradle. It is important that the nylon cord is firmly attached before you release it.
- Please note
- If the Motor Original is suspended from the ceiling, it is important to use a stainless steel hook without coating.
- For the baby hammock and the twin baby hammock, the nylon cord is fitted around the folded fabric, approximately 7 cm (3 inches) from the metal ring. Fasten the s-hook around the nylon cord to tighten it
- For the cradle, the nylon cord is fitted around the adjustable cradle straps, approximately 7 cm (3 inches) from the metal ring. Fasten the s-hook around the nylon cord to tighten it.
- Make sure that the motor wire is not in contact with the spring cover during movement, as this can create unwanted oscillations and wear on both the wire and the spring cover. When the Motor Original and the motor wire are installed correctly, you can switch on the power. Read the sections on HEIGHT and WEIGHT before using the Motor Original.
Please note
The nylon string is to be fastened as close to the center of the baby hammock or cradle as possible while still leaving a distance between the motor wire and the spring. Make sure to prevent the motorwire from touching and wearing out the fabric covering the spring.
HEIGHT
It is essential that baby hammock or cradle does not touch the floor during operation. Before using your product, perform these two tests to ensure that it does not touch the floor.
FIRST TEST: EMPTY BABY HAMMOCK / CRADLE
Mount the baby hammock or cradle as instructed and manually stretch the spring as much as you can. Pull on the spring until you feel the safety strap (the nylon strap inside the spring) preventing any further expansion. When the spring is fully extended, space must remain between the bottom of the baby hammock or cradle and the floor.
SECOND TEST: CHILD IN THE BABY HAMMOCK / CRADLE
Now place the child in the baby hammock or cradle and repeat the test
described above: Stretch out the spring until you feel the safety strap
keeping it from stretching further.
Here, too, space must remain between the bottom of the baby hammock or cradle
and the floor.
Please note
When using the Motor Original with a baby hammock and a door frame clamp from Moonboon, ensure that there is a minimum of 220 cm (7 feet and 3 inches) of space between the door frame and the floor.
Please note
Perform the tests regularly as your child grows and becomes heavier. This way you ensures that the baby hammock or cradle never touches the floor.
WEIGHT
The cradle bouncer works by keeping the spring system in constant motion. Your child’s weight and the spring used are the two main factors of the Motor Original’s performance.
BABY HAMMOCK OR CRADLE
The spring supplied with your baby hammock or cradle can be used when the baby weighs between 3 kg and 12 kg. Depending on the baby’s weight, there will be a difference in how long a strap you can use over the Motor Original if you have your cradle bouncer hanging from a hook in the ceiling. Always follow the accompanying recommendations and safety requirements to ensure that the baby hammock or cradle is securely fastened and that the Motor Original rocks as intended.
If the child weighs less than 8 kg , there must be a maximum of 15 cm of
strap from the motor up to the ceiling mount.
If the child weighs more than 8 kg , there must be a maximum of 50 cm of
strap from the motor up to the ceiling mount.
TWIN BABY HAMMOCK
The supplied spring can be used when the combined weight of the children is between 4 kg and 12 kg. Depending on the baby’s weight, there will be a difference in how long a strap you can use over the Motor Original if you have your cradle bouncer hanging from a ceiling mount. Always follow the accompanying recommendations and safety requirements to ensure that the twin baby hammock is securely fastened and that the Motor Original rocks as intended.
If the combined weight of the children is less than 8 kg , there must be
a maximum of 15 cm of strap from the motor to the ceiling mount.
If the combined weight of the children is more than 8 kg , there must be
a maximum of 50 cm of strap from the motor up to the ceiling mount.
Please note
Insufficient weight in the baby ham-mock or cradle will cause the Motor
Original to malfunction and turn off.
Please note
For safety considerations, we advise against using a baby hammock, cradle, or
any other product from a different brand than Moonboon with the Motor
Original. If you choose to do so, it’s crucial to be familiar with the safety
guidelines of both the product and its accompanying spring.
When used with products from another brand than Moonboon, the Motor Connect
may require a high-er total weight due to variations in spring quality and
dimensions.
Please note
The rocking from the motor and spring will be perceived differently depending
on your child’s weight. With a lower weight load, the rock-ing will feel
faster than with a larger weight load.
As your child grows, you might notice the rocking speed decrease. If you
prefer a shorter and quicker rocking motion, you can purchase a Spring+, which
will restore the movements to what you are accustomed to.
USING THE MOTOR
Once you have installed the Motor Original and connected the power supply, you can begin operation. Go through the SAFETY CHECKLIST and ensure that all points are met before switching on the motor for the first time.
TIMER
The small dots indicate how long the cradle bouncer will operate. The timer
can be set for anything between 5 minutes and 2 hours, or set to run
indefinitely. To set the timer for a duration of 1.5 hours, position the timer
knob precisely between the 1 hour and 2 hour marks. See the illustration for
time settings.
Motor Original is equipped with a safety function that will automatically stop
the motor after running for 12 consecutive hours.
TEMPO
The rocking speed is lowest when the pointer is turned to the left and highest when it is pointing to the right.
Please note
Do not manually bounce the baby hammock or cradle while the Motor Original’s motor wire is attached. It can damage the cradle bouncer.
Please note
You can switch off the cradle bouncer at any time by turning the knobs all the way to the left.
Please note
Please note that the cradle bouncer will not work with too little weight in the baby hammock or cradle. When used with the baby hammock or the cradle, the child must weigh at least 3 kg. When used with the twin baby hammock, the children must have a combined total weight of at least 4 kg.
TROUBLESHOOTING
THE LED DOES NOT LIGHT UP
Check that the power supply is firmly attached to the top of the cradle
bouncer and that the power is switched on. Turn off the power and wait 30
seconds before turning it back on.
If the LED light still does not light up, the cradle bouncer may need
servicing. Please contact customer service.
THE LED FLASHES RED AND GREEN
The Motor Original indicates that you are not using a correct power supply. Read more in the SAFETY CHECKLIST.
THE LED LIGHTS UP RED
The cradle bouncer has gone into fail-safe mode and has stopped by itself as
it has detected an error. Reset the cradle bouncer by turning both knobs to
the off position and then restart the operation.
If you repeatedly experience that the LED lights up red, this may indicate:
- There is not enough weight in the baby hammock or cradle. Read the section on WEIGHT.
- If your Motor Original hangs from the ceiling, you might have it hanging in too long a strap. Read the section on WEIGHT.
- The cradle bouncer is starting at too low a speed. Try starting the cradle bouncer at a higher speed and then reduce to the desired speed.
CLEANING
Clean the Motor Original with a damp cloth. Do not use soap or other chemicals on the cradle bouncer and keep it away from water and dirt.
DISPOSAL
When you see the crossed-out wheel bin symbol attached to a product, it means the product is covered by the European Directive 2002/96/EC:
Never dispose of the product with other household waste. Make sure you know the local regulations on separate collections of electrical and electronic products. Correct disposal of end-of-life products helps prevent negative impacts on the environment and human health.
