Operating instructions

A

Preparation

Put into batteries Attention:

  • According to the instruction of the player, put two batteries (AA) into it.
  • When the batteries become weak or exhausted, please replace them with new ones.

B

Play tape

  1.  Set R/T switch on T (TAPE) play position;
  2.  Open tape drive and put in a tape;
  3.  Press the PLAY button.

Change playing side At playing, press the DIR button.

© : When the speedup running of the tape comes to end, make sure to press the STOP button.

Choose reverse mode
Please set the REV MODE button according to the following instructions.
Play each side once. When it plays to the beginning of the other side, stop playing.
Repeat playing both sides.

Tune in on broadcasting

  1. Set R/T switch on R (Radio) to play
  2. Press AM or FM button.
  3. Turn the TUNING button, and turn to the desired frequency.

Turn off the radio
Set R/T switch on T (TAPE) play position.

Improve broadcasting receiving
When listening to the FM program, please extend the antenna and change its direction.
Earphone wire (antenna)
When listening to AM program, please change the player’s direction.

Recording
Recording with radio

  1. Set R/T switch on R (RADIO) receiving position.
  2. Open the tape drive and put in a tape.
  3. Press AM or FM button.
  4. Turn the TUNING button, and turn to the desired frequency.
  5. At the same time, press the PLAY button/REC • button to record.

Stop recording
Press the (STOP) button.

Recording with microphone

  1. Set R/T to switch on T (TAPE) play position.
  2. Open the tape drive and put in a tape.
  3. At the same time, press the PLAY button/REC • button to record.

Stop recording
Press the (STOP) button.

Attentions:
About battery

  • If you will not use Walkman for a long time, please take out the battery in case of battery leakage or corrosion.

About outer power supply

  • If you keep using DC-ih-jack for a long time, please take out the battery in case of damaging the player.

Operation notes:

  • If you haven’t used the player for a long time, please first set it on playing state to warm up before putting in a tape.
  • You’d better not use the tape lasting over 90 minutes, since the tape is very thin and easy to be lengthened, resulting in trouble or worsening its acoustical quality.

Receiving notice
The radiation of some electrical players, such as TV, daylight lamp, thyristor table lamp, computer, and electrical motor, will seriously interfere the player. When using the player please avoid interference.

Notes when wearing a headphone/earphone:
Prevent damaging your hearing
Do not use headphones or earphones at a high volume or wear it for a long time, as it may damage your hearing. If tinnitus occurs, please reduce its volume or stop using it.
Friendly to others:
Please keep it at a proper volume, so that you can listen outside and will not disturb others.

Maintenance
Clean magnetic head and tape passage:
Every 10 hours of playing, please clean the magnetic head and tape passage with cotton swabs and cleaning solution available from the market. After cleaning, please put in a tape when that part becomes dry.

Clean the cover
Please clean it with a soft cloth with a moderate cleanser. Do not use strong solvents, such as alcohol, gas, or thinner.

MAINTENANCE

To obtain the best performance from your player, clean the recording-playback heads and pinch rollers regularly. If these parts become dirty, the sound quality of your recordings may be altered and the tape speed may be modified.

  1. Open the cassette door.

  2. Press the play button (9).

  3. Using a cotton bud soaked in special cleaning fluid or spirit, clean the playback and recording heads carefully until all traces of dust or magnetic oxide have disappeared.
    Clean the surface of the pinch rollers and capstans in the same way.

  4. Dry by wiping the recording and playback heads carefully using a soft cloth.

To comply with the corresponding requirements, transmitter adjustments should be made only by or under the supervision of a person certified as technically qualified to perform transmitter maintenance and repairs in the private land mobile and fixed services as certified by an organization representative of the user of those services.
Replacement of any transmitter component (crystal, semiconductor, etc.) not authorized by the local government radio management departments equipment authorization for this radio could violate the rules.

  • When using the radio without a headset or earpiece, do not place the radio’s speaker directly against your ear

  • Use care with the earphone may be possible excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss
    Note: Exposure to loud noises from any source for extended periods of time may temporarily or permanently affect your hearing. The louder the radio’s volume, the less time is required before your hearing could be affected. Hearing damage from loud noise is sometimes undetectable at first and can have a cumulative effect.
