POWER OPTIONS

INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on your choice for a product from the Macna Heated Gear series. Please read these instructions carefully before using your Macna Heated Gear product. Please keep these instructions and give them to others who may use this product.

MACNA HEATED GEAR DESCRIPTION

  • Power button with heat level, Bluetooth® and battery level indicator ( 1 ).
  • Battery pocket ( 2 ).
  • Connecting plug ( 3 ).

TECHNICAL DATA

  • This device conforms to EMC regulations (EMC directive 89/336/EEC) and the low voltage directive (73/23 EEC).
  • Charger (to purchase separately).
  • Input: 100-240V (50-60Hz). Output: dual connection for 2 sets of battery packs.
  • Lithium polymer batteries 7.4V/3,0Ah (to purchase separately).
  • Lithium polymer batteries 12V/3,0Ah (to purchase separately).
  • Lithium polymer batteries 7.4V/2.2Ah (to purchase separately).
  • Lithium polymer batteries 7.4V/3Ah (to purchase separately).
  • Lithium polymer batteries 12V/3Ah (to purchase separately).
  • Power consumption of the jacket with 7.4V => 23W, when using 12V => 50W.
  • Power consumption of the trousers with 7.4V => 20W, when using 12V => 45W.
  • Power consumption of the gloves with 7.4V => 8W, when using 12V => 18W each.
  • Power consumption of the socks with 7.4V => 3W, when using 12V => 6W each.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

If you have problems sensing hot or cold objects (e.g. diabetics, disabled persons etc), please consult your doctor before using it.

  • Check your fingers regularly for reddening of the skin. Excessive heat levels over prolonged periods can lead to burns. Children should only use the unit under the supervision of adults.
  • The batteries are splash-proof while in their pouches. If you have attached the batteries to your gloves, jacket or trousers, they should always be connected to their cables to prevent moisture and dirt from entering the connecting socket or plug.
  • Be sure to use the right charger for the batteries you are using.
  • Do not insert any metal or other objects into connecting sockets or plugs as this could cause damage to the unit.
  • Stop using the unit if you discover any damage to connecting cables, batteries or other parts. You can continue to use the glove like a normal glove once the battery has been removed.
  • Never attempt to open the battery’s protective film! Improper handling of the Li-Po batteries can lead to heat up!
  • Batteries with a damaged protective film must no longer be used and must be disposed of immediately.
  • Do not make any modifications to the unit or use it for any unintended purpose. Repairs to the unit or its connecting leads are only to be carried out by the manufacturer.
  • If questions or problems arise, please get in touch with your dealer or the manufacturer.
  • Dispose of used batteries properly.
  • Do not throw t batteries into open fire because of the risk of explosion.

INSERTING / REPLACING THE BATTERIES

If the batteries are no longer fully functional (reduced heating times; battery fails to recharge), it is necessary to replace them. To replace the batteries, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the battery’s pocket on the product ( 2 ).
  2. Disconnect the battery cable ( 3 ) from the product.
  3. Remove the batteries and replace them with new ones. Dispose of the old batteries properly.
  4. Connect the battery cable to the product and close the pocket.

USE AND FUNCTIONS

Macna Heated Gear products have four operating modes: POWER-OFF – LEVEL 1 – LEVEL 2 – LEVEL 3 – LEVEL 4. These are clearly visible with the heating level display ( 1 ), the corresponding LED color refer to the selected level.
Macna Heated Gear products have a control pad with one control button ( 1 ) to set the 4 levels of heating. The Macna Heated Gear product is switched off when the LED display is not lit.
Turning on: With a lengthy push of the control button (3 sec.) the battery pack is activated to the highest heating level.
Turning off: With a lengthy push of the control button (3 sec.) the battery pack is deactivated, no LED marked.
Adjusting: Each time the control button is pushed, the heat level is increased, White LED – minimum level, Blue LED – medium level, Purple LED – high level, Red LED – maximum level. With a new push of the button the product returns at the minimum level of warmth.

IMPORTANT USAGE NOTES

  • Make sure that the batteries have been connected correctly with the product.
  • When starting up, set the max level for a few minutes, then regulate it to the desired level.
  • An optimum heat level can be reached when the product is dry.

STORAGE AND CARE OF THE BATTERIES
To ensure a long product life, store the batteries fully charged in a dry environment at room temperature. During storage, they should be disconnected from both the product and the charger. If batteries are not dry, let them dry before recharging.

CLEANING THE PRODUCT

Gentle machine wash 30°C max. / Do not iron / Do not tumble dry / Do not bleach / Do not dry-clean / Use a laundrybag.

DISPOSAL

If the product is no longer of use, please dispose of it and its packaging in an environmentally-friendly way and in accordance with the regulations applicable in your country. Batteries must be sent to the appropriate collection point after they have been removed from the product. Please contact your local government for more information.

SPARE PARTS
When subsequently purchasing spare parts make sure to give the exact Macna Heated Gear model designation. Ideally, take the part to be replaced with you to your dealer.

LIMITED WARRANTY CERTIFICATE

With this LIMITED WARRANTY CERTIFICATE, Macna warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship at the time of its original purchase by the buyer. We invite you to:

  • Read the cautions pertaining to safety and proper use.
  • Read the warranty terms and conditions.
  • Keep the originals sales receipt. This must be shown in case of repairs covered by warranty. In these cases, the product has to be taken back to the dealer where it was purchased.
WARRANTY COVERAGE

If any defect covered by this limited warranty certificate is discovered within 2 (two) years from the purchase date shown on the tax receipt, Macna shall repair or replace the defective product through its distribution network after having verified the defect. Macna shall supply all the material and labor that is reasonably required to remedy the defect, except in those cases where the damage is caused by one of the items listed in the following paragraph “Exclusions and limitations of the Coverage”.

10-YEARS WARRANTY ON THE HEATING ELEMENTS
Definition of heating element: Electric resistor connected to the connector with the fastener.

EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS OF THE COVERAGE
This warranty only covers defects in materials and manufacturing. Macna shall not be considered responsive for product defects that can be attributed, either partially or in full, to any other cause, including but not limited to:

  1. Defects or damages resulting from using the Product in conditions that differ from the usual ones.
  2. Damages caused by improper use not conforming with normal operation in accordance with the product operating and maintenance instructions provided by Macna.
  3. Negligence and normal wear of internal and external parts.
  4. Any damage caused by an accident.
  5. Any change or modification made by the user or by third parties.
  6. Color changes or damages caused by exposure to harmful chemical products.
  7. The use of incompatible accessories that are not part of the Macna Heated Gear product range.
  8. Moreover, the warranty does not cover product defects caused by fortuitous events, modifications or adjustments, causes of force major or damages deriving from the product coming in contact with liquids.
  9. This warranty does not include those parts subject to wear and tear such as, for example, the rechargeable battery and the cables used for connection.
  10. Whenever the product is used in conjunction with accessories or equipment not supplied by Macna, Macna shall not guarantee proper operation of the product/ accessories combination, nor will it accept requests for repairs or replacements under warranty in case the product is used in such a way.
  11. ‘Moreover, the defects covered by this warranty do not include all those specific and subjective situations that may come up during the active use such as, for example, comfort problems while riding or aerodynamic noises.

Macna shall not be held responsible in any case for incidental or consequential damages (including, without any limitation whatsoever, damages to one or more persons) resulting from non-fulfillment of the obligations arising from this warranty as it pertains to Macna Heated Gear products.

VALIDITY OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY

This warranty is valid only if the enclosed warranty form is duly and completely filled out with the following information:

  1. Product name.
  2. Name and stamp of the authorized dealer.
  3. Product purchase date.

Macna reserves itself the right to not carry out repairs under warranty if the aforementioned information is removed or modified after the original purchase of the product from the dealer.

PROCEDURE FOR THE FORWARDING OF CLAIMS
To forward a claim covered by this warranty, the buyer has to directly notify the dealer where the product was purchased with regards to the defect, presenting at the same time the defective product, a copy of the sales receipt and the warranty registration form, duly filled out as instructed above. Prior to contacting the dealer, we recommend that you read carefully the user manual enclosed with the product. After 2 (two) years from the date of purchase, this limited warranty is void for all effects and purposes. Repairs or maintenance under warranty do not extend the period of the warranty itself. Therefore, in case the product or one of its components is replaced, this does not initiate a new warranty period, as the purchase date of the original product shall be taken into account for warranty purposes. Only for repairs or replacement of electronic components, in the event that Macna proceeds to repairing or replacing the product, said product shall enjoy a warranty period equal to the residual portion of the original warranty or ninety (90) days from the repair date (the longer period being considered). The repair or replacement can be carried out even with regenerated components with equivalent functions. The replaced parts or components shall become the property of Macna. This warranty voids and replaces any other written or verbal warranties provided for by the law that can be derogated at the parties’ will; specifically, Macna does not grant specific warrants of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. In no case shall Macna be liable for incidental or consequential damages including but not limited to lost profits or commercial damages, to the full extent those damages can be disclaimed by the law. Macna reserves itself the right to modify, at any time and without advance notice, the product characteristics, functions. Some countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or the limitation of the duration of implied warranties; as a result of this, the previous limitations and exclusions may not be applicable to you. This warranty does not have any effect on the customer’s legal rights under the national jurisdiction in force or on the consumer rights towards the dealer sanctioned by the purchase/sale contract. This warranty is valid throughout the European territory, and it represents the only express warranty provided by Macna in relation to the sale of its own products. This warranty does not affect the rights to which the buyer is entitled and which are expressly provided for by Directive 1999/44/CE. This warranty does not affect the consumer’s rights provided for by the law.
