Introduction & Features
This intelligent vacuum travels through living spaces, bedrooms, kitchens, and more to deliver a cleaning experience that’s hassle-free and stays out of your way. It can easily navigate from hardwood floors to rugs and carpets with rubber wheels that grip. The Optimax UV also uses gyroscopic and optical sensors to find its way in a room that creates the most effective path to clean without missing a spot. It’s so good that it knows where it hasn’t been cleaned and where it has already been cleaned! Looking under the hood of this Optima UV. you’ll see a complete cleaning system equipped with a potent, sanitizing UV-C light on the undercarriage, a side brush that pulls dirt and debris into the suction area, a roller brush to capture even the smallest particles, and a powerful suction vent that draws dirt, dust, and debris into a large dustbin. Built-in multi-directional movement and sensors that identify stairs and avoid collisions. Its slim frame quietly utilizes a super- efficient, 3-stage cleaning system that has four modes and can be operated via a wireless remote or the Tzumi Smart Home App, compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant. Program it to clean when you want, and when the job is done (or the battery is running low), the ionic Optima UV returns to its dock for automatic charging, and it will tell you that itself as it has much voice prompts of its own, so you’ll always know what it’s -thinking.”

The Optimax UV should not be used by children and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities. Children should not play with the Optima UV. Cleaning and user maintenance shall only be done by adults. The Optima UV must be used in accordance with the directions in this Instruction Manual. Tzumi Electronics cannot be held liable or responsible for any damages or injuries caused by improper use. To reduce the risk of injury or damage, keep these safety precautions in mind when setting up, using, and maintaining your Optima UV:
- Read all safety and operating instructions before operating your Optima UV.
- Retain the safety and operating instructions for future reference.
- Heed all warnings on your Optima UV, battery, Charging Dock, and In the owner’s manual.
- Follow all operating procedures and user instructions.
The symbol on the product or its packaging indicates: Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste, use separate collection facilities. Contact your local authority for information regarding the collection systems available.
2.1 User Cautions
- The Optimax UV is for indoor use only. Do not use the Optimax UV outdoor, commercial or industrial environments.
- Before using the Optimax UV, pick up objects like clothing, loose papers, pull cords for blinds or curtains, power cords and any fragile objects.
- The Optimax UV is not a toy. Do not sit or stand on the Optimax UV. Small children and pets should be supervised when the Optimax UV is operating.
- Store and operate the Optimax UV in room temperature environments only.
- Do not use the Optimax UV to pick up anything that is burning or smoking.
- Do not use the Optimax UV to pick up spills, bleach, paint, chemicals or anything wet.
- If the room to be cleaned contains a balcony, a physical bonier should be used to prevent access to the balcony and ensure safe operation.
- Do not place anything on top of the Optimax UV.
- Be aware that the Optimax UV moves on its own. Be careful when walking in the area that the Optimax UV is operating in to avoid stepping on it.
- Do not operate the Optimax UV in areas with exposed electrical outlets in the floor.
- Avoid direct skin or eye exposure to UV light.
22 Battery Care and Charging
- Charge using a standard outlet only. This product may not be used with any type of power converter. The use of a power converter will immediately void the warranty.
- Do not use a Charging Dock with a damaged cord or plug. If the cord or plug is damaged, it must be serviced by the manufacturer or a qualified service provider. • Charge indoors only.
- The Charging Dock may be protected with a surge protector in the event of severe electrical storms.
- Never handle or touch the Charging Dock or cables with wet hands.
- Always remove the Optimax UV from the Charging Dock before cleaning or maintaining it.
- The Optimax UV contains Li-Ion rechargeable batteries, be sure to never open, pierce or damage the batteries.
- Do not wet the battery compartment.
- If the batteries are leaking, stop the Optimax UV use immediately and contact customer service.

Operating Instructions
4.1 Notes Before Cleaning
Before using the Optimax 1 pick up objects like dothing, loose papers, pull cords for blinds or curtains, power cords and any fragile objects.
If the room to be cleaned contains a balcony, a physical bonier should be used to prevent access to the balcony and ensure safe operation.
4.2 Using the Optimax UV

Plugin the Charging Dock and place the remaining wire inside the bottom of the Charging Dock.
Note: Failure to place the remaining wire inside the Charging Dock, may cause the Optimax UV to pull on the wire while charging or cleaning. -
Place the Charging Dock indoors, on a hard leveled surface and against a wall.

Charging Dock Position: Place the Charging Dock in an open and uncluttered area, leaving at least 6 feet in the front of the Charging Dock and 3 feet on each side.

Install the Side Brush: Attach the Side Brush to the bottom of the Optimax UV by pressing the brush into its slot until it clicks.

Turning ON the Optimax UV: Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds or place the Optimax UV on the Charging Dock, making sure the metal charging contacts on the Charging Dock match up with those on the Optimax UV.
Power OFF
- Press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds – the Optimax UV will turn OFF.
Using the UV light
You can control the UV light via the remote or the app. Also, it may be
prudent to go over an area twice for the overall best UV sanitation.
- Press the UV light button on the remote to turn the UV light ON/OFF, the Optimax UV will let you know the UV light is on and the lights on top will flash.
4.3 Cleaning Modes
1. Auto Cleaning
- The Optimax UV will work in a smart zig-zag systematic cleaning path for a seamless and thoroughly clean.
- At various times throughout the cleaning cycle, the Optimax UV will touch up around the edges of the room, as well as chair legs and other furniture to help with the navigation.
- The Optimax UV will continue this process until it cleaned the entire area. If the battery gets low before finishing the cleaning cycle, the Optimax UV will return to the Charging Dock to recharge.
2. Spot Cleaning
When selecting spot cleaning, the Optimax UV will emphasize on an area of
approximately 5ft. for maximum cleaning.
- Put the Optimax UV on a localized area that you wish to clean and press the spot cleaning button on the remote or the App.
- The Optimax UV will work its way in a spiral mode of about 5ft. in diameter and will then spiral back to the original spot.
- The Optimax UV will boost the suction power to the maximum power for this model.
3. Edge Cleaning
After the Optimax UV finishes cleaning the open areas, it uses Edge Clean to
ensure that it has been cleaned along the walls and around furniture legs. If
you prefer just an Edge Cleaning, press the button on the remote control, or
choose the Edge Cleaning mode on the Tzumi Smart Home App
4. Manual Cleaning
You can manually control the Optimax UV to clean a particular area by using
the directional buttons on the remote control or the Tzumi Smart Home App.
5. Random Cleaning Mode
Note: This mode is only accessible via the Tzumi Smart Home App. The random
mode will work its way around the room in a random cleaning pattern until the
room is completely clean. Occasionally, on high carpets, the gyroscope will
lose its way and the Optimax UV may go over the same spot multiple times, use
the random mode for such a room to get a complete and thorough cleaning.
Virtual Wall
With Optimax UV, you can create virtual walls to keep your vacuum away from
certain areas or to make sure it does not leave the room. Simply roll out the
Virtual Wall tape on the surface you do not want the Optimax UV to cross such
as a room threshold or furniture.
4.4 Controlling the Optimax UV with the Tzumi Smart Home App

Scan the code to download the latest version of the “Tzumi Smart Home” App or
search “Tzumi Smart Home” in the App Store.
Use the App to control the Optimax UV:
To enjoy all the Optimax UV features, it is recommended to control your
Optimax UV via the App.
Before you start, make sure that:
- Your smartphone or tablet is connected to a Wi-Fi Network.
- Your smartphone or tablet is running iOS 8.0 (or above) or Android 4.4 (or above).
- The 2.4GHz band wireless signal is enabled on your wireless router.
- The Optimax UV is on the Charging Base to ensure it has enough power for setup.
1. Setting Up the Tzumi Smart Home App
- Download the Tzumi Smart Home App from the Apple App Store (iOS devices) or Google Play (Android devices).
- Open the App and create a user account.
- Tap the “+” icon in the top right corner to add the Optimax UV to your account.
2. How to Connect the Optimax UV:
- Press Power and Home buttons for 3 seconds until you hear an alert ‘Wi-Fi lost, please follow app for connection’, the Optimax UV Wi-Fi will reset, wait for the vacuum to finish resetting, and for the light to quickly flash blue. Now you can follow the instructions in the Tzumi Smart Home App to set up the Optimax UV on the app.
Follow the instructions in the app to set up the Wi-Fi connection.
- After connecting successfully, you can control the Optimax UV via the App.
- In the App, you can select a cleaning mode, schedule a cleaning, view the system status, receive notifications, share the Optimax UV, and access additional features.
- You can also control the Optimax UV with your voice using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
4.5 Using the Optimax UV with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant
You can control the Optimax UV with your voice using Google Assistant or
Amazon Alexa. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant can only be used in English at
this time.
Requirements:
- Make sure the Optimax UV is on the Charging Dock to ensure there is enough power
- The Optimax UV is active in the Tzumi Smart Home App
- The Google Home app or Amazon Alexa is installed on your smart device and you have an active account
- A device with the Google assistant (i.e. Google Home, Google Home Mini) or an Alexa enabled device(i.e. Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show)
Control the Optimax UV with the Google Assistant
- Open the Google Home app
- Say “OK Google, talk to Tzumi Smart” the Google Assistant will initiate the Google Action for the Optimax UV
- Follow the instructions on the Google Home app to link the Tzumi Smart Action
- You are now ready to control the Optimax UV with simple voice commands
Try these commands (Replace ‘Optimax UV’ with the name of your Optimax UV):
- “OK Google, set Optimax UV to auto mode” — the Optimax UV will start an automatic cleaning cycle
- “OK Google, set Optimax UV to edge mode” — the Optimax UV will start an edge cleaning cycle
Control the Optimax UV with Amazon Alexa
- Open the Amazon Alexa app on your smart device and select ‘Skills’ from the options menu.
- Once you are on the ‘Skills’ page, search for ‘Tzumi Smart’ and tap ‘Enable’.
- Use your Tzumi Smart Home App credentials to log in to give Alexa access to control the Optimax UV.
- You are now ready to control the Optimax UV with simple voice commands.
Try these commands (Replace ‘Optimax UV’ with the name of your Optimax UV):
- “Alexa, tell Optimax UV to start cleaning” — the Optimax UV will start an automatic cleaning cycle.
- “Alexa, tell Optimax UV to go recharge” — the Optimax UV will go back to the Docking Station.

Optimax UV Care
To keep the Optimax UV running well, perform the following care procedures. If you notice the Optimax UV picks up less debris from the floor, empty the dust bin, clean the filter and the main brush.

5.1 Emptying the Optimax UV Dust Bin
- Press the dust bin release button to remove it.
- Open the dust bin door to empty it.
5.2 Cleaning the Optimax UV Filter
- Remove the filter by grasping the white tab.
- Shake off debris by tapping the filter against your trash container.
- Rinse the filter with water.
- Air-dry the filter completely before use.
5.3 Cleaning the Optimax UV Side Brush
- Pull up gently to remove the brush. 2. Clean the brush and brush stand then reinstall the brush.
5.4 Cleaning the Optimax UV Anti-Drop Sensors and Charging Contacts
- Wipe the Optimax UV’s Anti-Drop sensors and charging contacts with a clean, dry cloth.
5.5 Cleaning the Optimax UV Floor Optical Sensor
- Use a clean dry microfiber or soft cotton cloth to wipe any debris that has accumulated in the round sensor opening on the right side of the bottom surface. Do not spray cleaning solution directly into the sensor opening.
5.6 Cleaning the Optimax UV Main Brush
- Pull-on the release tabs to unlock the brush guard.
- Lift the main brush to remove.
- Clean the main brush with the provided cleaning tool or a vacuum cleaner.
- Reinstall the main brush by inserting the fixed protruding end first and then clicking into place.
- Press down to snap the main brush cover into place.
Troubleshooting
The Optimax UV will let you know if something is wrong with a distress sound
followed by a message. The indicator light will also blink or show solid red.
Please refer to the following chart to troubleshoot and resolve the Optimax UV
problem. If the problem is not resolved, please contact our customer service
department for further assistance.
Rebooting Instructions
For some errors, rebooting the Optimax UV may resolve the problem. To reboot
the Optimax UV, turn the unit OFF by pressing the Power button for 5 seconds
until you hear ‘Power OFF’, wait 10 seconds and then press the Power button
for 5 seconds to turn the Optimax UV back ON.

Troubleshooting Table
Problem | Solution |

The Optimax UV will not start | •In case of a low battery, place the Optimax UV |
on the charging base and align it to the electrodie plate, the machine will
restart automatically (if the Optimax UV is completely powered off, it will
start automatically after is charged for a while).
•If the inside/outside temperature is lower than 0°C or higher than 50°C,
there may be functionality issues. The Optimax UV is designed to work best in
temperatures between 0-40°C.
The Optimax UV is not charging|
•Move the Optimax UV away from the base, check whether the indicator light of
the charging base lights up, and confirm both ends of the power adapter are
snugly connected.
•Please clear the charging base of any debris. Also, be sure the charging
contact on the Optimax UV is clear and/or make sure the side brush is not
blocking anything.
The Optimax UV cannot find the dock|
The Optimax UV is too far away from the charging base, please put the Optimax UV near the charging base and try again.
The Optimax UV is acting strangely| Shut down the Optimax UV and restart it.
The Optimax UV is making strange noises| The main brush, side brush or
wheel(s) may be caught up by a foreign object, please shut down the Optimax UV
and remove any foreign object.
The Optimax UV is not cleaning properly or dust is falling out of it| •The
dust box is full, please clean it out.
•The filter is blocked, please clear or replace it.
•The main brush is being obstructed by something, please clean it.
Wi-Fi cannot connect| •Wi-Fi signal is bad/weak, please ensure the area is
covered by a Wi-Fi signal.
•Wi-Fi has connected abnormally, please reset Wi-Fi, download the latest App,
and try to reconnect it.
•Password was input incorrectly.
•The router is operating on 5G frequency band, the cleaning Optimax UV only
works on the 2.4G frequency band.
Fixed-time/schedule cleaning fails| Fixed time/scheduled cleaning can only be
started when the battery level is at least 30%.
Does the Optimax UV consume power if it is placed on the charging base while
full or nearly full?| The Optimax UV consumes a little power if it is always
placed on the charging base. This enables the best performance of battery over
time.

wall sensor is dirty or covered — clean it.
Please check if the bumper has been blocked in some way| The edge or collision
sensor is stuck on something — remove whatever is obstructing it.
I’m stuck, please help me!| The Optimax UV is stuck on something…help it… or
it may revolt!
Please place me correctly!| The Optimax UV is tilted and/or askew in some way
— straighten it out.
Please check if my wheels are blocked| The driving wheel is stuck or caught on
something, remove it.
Please check if the main brush is stuck| The main brush is caught up or stuck
remove whatever is causing that.
Please check if the side brushes are stuck| The side brush is caught up or
stuck remove whatever is causing that.
What’s going on? Where is the docking station?| The Optimax UV cannot find the
charging base or it is not plugged in.
Oh dear! Program error, please restart me| The Optimax UV is having an issue
with something unknown — restart/reboot it.
Error encountered initiating shutdown| The Optimax UV tells the user it is
having an issue then shuts down automatically, restart.
Low battery, please recharge| If cleaning is requested when the battery level
is too low and the Optimax UV is not on the charging base it will not clean.
Let it charge for a while.
