Thank you very much for purchasing the “SCFD-1” (hereinafter referred to as “this product”). Please read this manual before using to ensure correct use.

Name and how to connect each part

Follow the steps below to connect SCFD-1 main unit, USB cable and the car charger.

  1. Insert the Type-A terminal of the USB cable into the car charger
  2. Insert the Type-B terminal of the USB into the main unit.

How LED Lamp glows

When this product is turned ON/OFF, it glows as follows:

  • OFF: Power OFF
  • White light: Power ON
  • Blinking white: Software update

After the power is turned on, it lights up as follows depending on the status of the product.

  • Blue: LTE range and GNSS positioning is complete
  • Orange: LTE range but GNSS positioning Is not complete
  • Purple: Out of LTE range, but GNSS is in position
  • Red: Out of LTE range and GNSS positioning is not completed

Installation to the vehicle

Follow the steps below to install it in your vehicle.

  1. Cleaning the inside of the cigar socket
    Clean the inside of the cigar socket before installing this product. Make sure that the inside of the cigar socket is cold before removing any dust or debris from the cigar socket. If the inside of the cigar socket is dirty, it may cause poor contact or fire.

  2. Installation of the main unit
    Install and fix this product firmly on the dashboard in the correct orientation as shown in the installation example below. If it is not fixed firmly, it may cause the product to jump out of the dashboard due to vibration or shaking.

  3. Inserting into a cigar socket
    Make sure to insert the cigar charger of this product to the cigar socket securely. If it is not inserted securely, it may cause poor contact or fire.

  4. Activation of this product
    After the installation of this product is completed, start the vehicle’s engine and confirm that the LED lamp of this product lights up and this product has started.

Cautions

  • Please install in accordance with your local regulations
  • Read the owner’s manual of the vehicle and install it in accordance with safety precautions.

If you need help

Please check the following items.

If the power does not turn ON

  • Make sure that the USB cable is securely connected.
  • Make sure the vehicle’s cigar socket is not dirty or rusty. If there is dirt or rust on it, remove it.

If the location information is not correct

  • The location information obtained from GNSS has a different error range depending on the measurement environment. If the error range is continuously large, move to an area with a better measurement environment (open sky) before turning on the power

If location information is not available

  • If the LED lamp is out of LTE range or the GNSS location environment is poor, move to LTE coverage range and then turn on the power again.
  • Check the mounting position of the product body and install it correctly so that the surface of the product body faces up
