SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

WARNING
TO PREVENT FIRE OR SHOCK HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS UNIT TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.

POWER SYSTEM
This unit operates on voltage of 120V 60Hz in U.S.A., 230V 50Hz in European countries.

CAUTION

  • To prevent electric shock and fire hazards, only use with specified power source.
  • Use appropriate plug adapter for your AC wall outlet.
  • If unit begins to leak, unplug and refer to Troubleshooting Guide and Service Alert Table page 19.
  • HOT WATER IS EXTREMELY HOT! Avoid dispensing hot water directly to hands.
    • Hot Water may cause burns.
    • Do not allow young children to press the HOT WATER dispensing button.
  • If unit will not be used for an extended period of time, or before moving the unit, unplug main power and wait for hot water to cool completely before draining. Refer to “How to Drain System” page 14.
  • Do not connect to any water source that is microbiologically unsafe.
  • If the unit begins to smoke or make noise, unplug main power and contact customer support.
  • Do not place any type of water container or heavy item on top of the unit.

Please Note: Any unauthorized changes or modifications not approved by Technology to Market Logistics could void the product warranty and make the product unsafe to operate.

  • COLD WATER
    Press Cold Select Button (Cold Select LED ON) then press and hold Dispense Button to dispense desired volume.

  • HOT WATER
    Press Hot Select Button (Hot Select LED ON) then press and hold Dispense Button to dispense desired volume.

  • ROOM TEMP WATER
    Press and hold Dispense Button to dispense desired volume.

  • THERMARINSE BUTTON
    Press ThermaRinse Button to start ThermaRinse feature. (Please note that there may be a small amount of water (approx. 3 oz) from the dispense nozzle during ThermaRinse operation}

  • THERMARINSE LED
    ON during ThermaRinse operation. When activated, cold water will not dispense.

  • SERVICE LED
    The Purus system is equipped with performance monitoring software, utilizing a combination of blinking lights and beeps to help diagnose system performance issues. Refer to “Service Alert Table” pages 21-23.

INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS

  • Allow enough clearance from the wall so that tubing connected to the back of the unit will not kink or bind. Two (2) Stem Elbow Fittings are included with the installation kit to angle the tubing away from wall. Refer to “Using Stem Elbows” page 18.
  • The unit must be installed upright on a solid, stable surface only.
  • Avoid extreme heat and direct sunlight.
  • Avoid extreme cold and humidity.
  • Check the AC outlet voltage before connecting the power cord.
  • Inlet water should be normal/ambient temperature. Filter may be damaged if inlet water is higher than 113°F/45°F.

OPERATION PRECAUTIONS

IN THE EVENT POWER SUPPLY IS INTERRUPTED

When the unit is not used for extended periods of three (3) days or more, drain water from the tanks. After resumption of extended non-use, press the ThermaRinse Button to refresh the water system. Refer to “ThermaRinse Activation” pages 11-12.

REPLACEMENT OF FUSE

  • The fuse is located behind a small tab at the base of the plug connection in the Power Cord Socket on the back of the unit.
  • Fuse burn-out is an indication of a possible fault in the unit.
  • Slide open the fuse cover using a small, flat screwdriver and remove the fuse.
  • After inserting a new fuse (U.S.A.-125V 10Amp), replace the fuse cover.

CAUTION! When dispensing hot water or operating the ThermaRinse function, please keep hands, and especially children away from the dispense zone to prevent potential scalding accidents.

SYSTEM OPERATION

IMPORTANT
Complete the Installation instructions prior to performing the system operation procedures.

  1. Connect power cord to Power Connector and to AC outlet and turn the Hot system ON/OFF switch on the back of the unit to the ON position. Wait approximately 30 minutes from initial start up for Hot and Cold system to reach optimal temperature.
  2. Press the Cold or Hot Water Select Button on the touch pad (selected LED will blink) and then press and hold the Dispense Button until water begins dispensing from the Dispensing Spout.
  3. Press and hold the Dispense Button ONLY on the touch pad for Room Temperature Water.
  4. As a safety measure, dispense time is limited to 30 seconds. Restart the dispense cycle to continue water dispensing.
  5. Press the RED and BLUE buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to access Dispense LED brightness adjustment or to turn the LED off. Use the BLUE or RED button to toggle through the settings.

TOUCHPAD FEATURES

SERVICE INDICATOR Service LED will come ON or Blink depending on the issue (refer to “Service Alert Table” pages 21-23). Unplug then plug-in unit to restart. If problem persists, contact customer support.

THERMARINSE ACTIVATION


  • This unit is equipped with a manually activated ThermaRinse feature. This sends hot water through the cooling system tank and lines.
  • Press the ThermaRinse Button for 3 seconds to activate the ThermaRinse feature (LED ON). The ThermaRinse cycle can be canceled at any time by pressing the ThermaRinse button again for 3 seconds. If ThermaRinse cycle is canceled, cold water must reach 50°F. before cold water will dispense.
  • The ThermaRinse function can take up to 5 hours to complete. It is best to activate ThermaRinse during non-use hours. Please note: As a safety precaution, cold water will not dispense during ThermaRinse operation.
  • Upon completion, the ThermaRinse LED will remain on and unit will not dispense cold water until cold water temperature reaches 50°F.
  • Once the cooling system reaches 50°F, the ThermaRinse LED will turn OFF and cold water can be dispensed. Please note: Cold water dispense volume may be less than expected until fully cooled.
  • A small amount of water (approx. 3 oz) will drip from the Dispense Nozzle into the drip tray during the ThermaRinse cycle. This is not a system malfunction. Confirm drip tray is empty before activating ThermaRinse cycle.

DISPENSING AREA LIGHT BRIGHTNESS/OFF ADJUSTMENT

Simultaneously press the Hot and Cold Buttons for 3 seconds. This will cause the Hot and Cold LED lights to blink. Use the RED or BLUE button to toggle through the settings to dim or brighten the dispense LED light in 4 steps (Hight – Medium – Low – OFF).

DISPENSING WATER

As a safety measure, dispense time is limited to 30 seconds. Restart the dispense cycle to continue water dispensing.
ROOM TEMP WATER

Press and hold the Dispense button to dispense room temperature water.

Press the Hot button to select hot water. The Red LED will begin to blink. Then press and hold the Dispense button to dispense hot water. The LED will remain ON during dispense.

Press the Cold button to select cold water. The Blue LED will begin to blink. Then press and hold the Dispense button to dispense cold water. The LED will remain ON during dispense.

DRAINING THE PURUS SYSTEM

  1. Turn power to unit OFF (unplug).
  2. Shut off cold water feed line.
  3. Allow hot water in system to cool down for minimum of 4 hours
  4. Prepare a bucket or other container, or move back of unit over a sink.
  5. Remove plug from “Hot Drain” fitting by pressing down on fitting collet with a finger or other flat tool and pull plug out of fitting.
  6. Allow water to drain completely.
  7. Remove plug from “Cold Drain” and allow water to drain completely.
  8. Tilt unit backwards to remove any excess water.
  9. Replace plugs by pushing back into drain fitting.

FILTER CHANGE GUIDE

Estimated Avg Filter Life = 6 months

  1. Shut off inlet water line.
  2. Press Dispense Button until no water comes out. This will relieve pressure inside the filter. If pressure is not relieved, water will leak when the filter is removed.
  3. Turn power to the unit OFF (unplug).
  4. Remove drip tray.
  5. Pull tab and remove filter door.
  6. Rotate filter to the left and pull down to remove.
  7. Insert new filter and rotate to the right to secure. Make sure the filter is upright and replace filter door.
  8. Turn inlet water line to OPEN position.
  9. Turn power to unit ON (plug in).

HOW TO REMOVE TUBING FROM QUICK CONNECT FITTING

STEP 1
Apply pressure (Press down) on the collet rim with a thumbnail fitting removal tool or other flat tool such as a flat head screwdriver, being careful not to damage the tubing.

Pull tubing out of fitting while applying pressure on collet rimpurus-

USING STEM ELBOWS

  • Use Stem Elbow Fittings to angle tubing connections to Water In and Water Out ports away from wall.
  • Insert stem portion of Elbow Fitting into Water In and Water Out ports.
  • Insert tubing into Stem Elbow Fittings, making sure Stem Elbows and Tubing are pushed in all the way.
  • Open cold-water feed line and check for leaks.  Reinsert Stem Elbows and Tubing as needed.

WARRANTY OF UNIT

  • The warranty issued through Technology to Market Logistics does not apply to the appearance of the unit.
  • The warranty applies only if your unit fails to function properly under normal use within the manufacturer’s specifications.

THE FOLLOWING WILL VOID WARRANTY COVERAGE

  • Any unit not operated in accordance to the instructions contained in the owner’s manual.
  • Damage due to an act of nature.
  • Any unit which, in our strict judgment, has been repaired, altered, or modified by facility or personnel not authorized by Technology to Market Logistics.

TERM OF WARRANTY

Warranty issued by Technology to Market Logistic to the owner valid for a period of 1 year commencing from the date of purchase.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

SYMPTOMS CHECKPOINT
Abnormal water taste. Verify last filter replacement date. Average filter

life = six (6) months.
Water volume is less than specified.| •    Confirm Power Cord connected to AC outlet.

•    Confirm water feed line OPEN.

•    Check feed line water pressure (is water pressure abnormally low?).

Cold Water not chilling below 50°F.| •    Confirm water feed line is OPEN.

•    Check if ThermaRinse cycle is active or recently completed (LED light ON).

•    If large volume of cold water has recently dispensed, please wait 15~30 minutes and try again.

Hot Water not heating above 150°F.| •    Confirm water feed line is open.

•    Confirm hot water switch on back of unit is in the ON position.

•    If large volume of hot water has recently dispensed, please wait 15~30 minutes and try again.

Small amount of water drips from dispense nozzle during ThermaRinse cycle.| The ThermaRinse cycle causes a small amount of water to drip from the Dispense Nozzle (approx. 3 oz). This is and not a malfunction.

Water dispense suddenly shuts off.| As a safety measure, dispense cycle is limited to 30 seconds. Re-start the dispense cycle to continue water dispensing.
Cold Water not dispensing when ThermaRinse LED is ON.| The water in cold tank is rinsed with hot  water during ThermaRinse cycle. For safety reasons, the Cold Water will not dispense until ThermaRinse LED is OFF.
ThermaRinse cycle was canceled but Cold Water will not dispense.| If ThermaRinse cycle is canceled before cycle is completed, Cold Water will not dispense until water has cooled down to 50°F
There is no water output.| Confirm the following:

•    Power cord connected to AC outlet.

•    Water feed line is open.

•    Selected HOT/COLD LED blinking ON prior to pressing dispense button. If symptom persists, contact customer support.

When pressing Cold button, unit beeps twice and Cold LED blinks twice.| Cooling conditions have not been met. Allow system time to reach optimal cooling temperature (approx. 15 minutes) before dispensing water.

•    Power cord connected to an active AC outlet and circuit breaker for that outlet operating properly.

•    Overflow or leakage of water in the unit.

Unplug the unit then plug back in to re- start. If error persists, contact customer support.
GREEN Service Light ON| Cold sensor System Short| Signals a problem with the cold sensor. Hot, Cold and Room Temp dispense buttons will work normally. If the problem does not self correct, unplug the unit then plug back in to

re-start. If error persists, contact customer support.
