Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I use the outputs one for the Bluetooth hearing aid and the other for the soundbar at the same time?
Yes, the outputs on this splitter can be used at the same time.

  • Can I use this splitter to send the output optical signal from the cd player to 2 different stereo receivers?
Yes, you can have two receivers connected to the Toslink splitter.

  • In theory, can I put the Toslink splitter in smart tv Toslink and connect 2 female Toslink to Toslink analog converter and one to geva Bluetooth think?
Yes, using an analog converter for one of the outputs should work. Note that we haven’t tested this but there’s no reason why it shouldn’t work. For more questions or concerns, please visit us on our website or on our Facebook page.

  • Can I connect a male 3.5mm headset?
No, this splitter is for Toslink optical audio cables and is not compatible with the 3.5mm headphone connectors. For more questions or concerns, please visit us on our website or on our Facebook page.

  • I have one optical input on my Yamaha 5.1 receiver. can i use an lg tv and apple tv to connect to the Yamaha receiver?
Yes, you can use the splitter with your Yamaha 5.1 receiver, LG TV, and Apple TV. Note that only one input device can be used at a time. For more questions or concerns, please visit us on our website or on our Facebook page.

  • As soon as I connected the optical cable for my dad’s hearing aids my soundbar stopped working. any suggestions? I have a smart Samsung tv.
I have a Samsung tv and I found the adaptor too heavy and the sound bar would go in and out. I never could get my wireless headphones to work so I returned them.

  • Does the splitter have to be hooked into the tv directly or can I hook it to the cable that is already attached to the tv?
I integrated this splitter with a Yamaha receiver. I had to connect the splitter directly to the TOSLINK port on my TV. Then I connected the receiver to one of the TOSLINK ports on the splitter and my other device to the other splitter port, also via TOSLINK.

  • Does this work from two audio sources (tv and mp3) connected to one receiver?
It is intended and used as a signal divider, not a combiner. Most frequently it is used to split the audio output from a TV to a surround-sound audio system or sound bar used in lieu of the internal TV loudspeaker, and a TV audio streamer whose signal is received by one’s hearing aids.

  • What’s the deal with the 24k gold? the signal is light (photons) not electrons. Does that sound like marketing nonsense to me and thus a red flag?
24K gold is meaningless. The manufacturer guy who said it offers a better listening experience is full of crap. The optical signal is light, not electricity. Gold doesn’t conduct light. Functionality is determined by the sensitivity of the optical sensor and/or output of the transmitting led. A tight connection is also important.

  • I have this connected to headphones and a soundbar. The headphones won’t work unless i connect directly to the tv optical. Is my splitter broken?
Reverse the plugs from the headphones and soundbar. If the problem is the same and the splitter is good and you may have to use patch cords to get the soundbar to work. My splitter is great. I use it to operate two sets of headphones.

  • Can this connect a smart tv source to a bose tv speaker and an LG sound bar sys so I can Bluetooth connect the LG bass module?
This device can connect a smart TV with an optical port, to two devices with optical ports. In your scenario if both the Bose speaker system and LG soundbar have optical ports, and your smart TV has an optical port the sound will be delivered to both (if both are powered on), and whatever you Bluetooth to them, will also hear the sound. I use this for two headsets at the same time, one for me and one for my wife. When I tested it, I hooked it up to two speaker systems to ensure good quality sound, and it worked.
