reacha Bike Trailer
QUICK GUIDE
We are very pleased that you have chosen a handcart and bicycle trailer from
reacha. Our frame, which is made in Bavaria, and the other parts of our
products have been developed with care to guarantee you the best possible
handling and long durability.
If you use the trailer on the road, please note that the legal regulations for
the use of bicycles and bicycle trailers in the individual countries
distinguish between them. Please obey the law and be considerate towards other
road users.
Please read our detailed operating instructions before the first use, which you can access via the following link: www.reacha.de/pages/manual
Have fun with your reacha,
Your reacha team
WARNING
NO PASSENGER TRANSPORT
reacha load trailers are not designed for the transport of persons, especially
not for children, and are not approved for this purpose!
reacha must be installed professionally, otherwise there is a risk of
accidents with life-threatening injuries.
Care must be taken with the moving parts and especially with the snap locks of
the frame. Especially with the first and inexperienced use there is a danger
of getting your fingers and hands trapped. Pay particular attention to the
fact that during snapping the clips no skin gets into the aperture
Snap-lock adjustmen
Grasp the clip of the Snap-Lock on the grip surfaces with one finger each. Press with both thumbs away from the pipe perpendicular to the pipe axis to open the clip. To close, light pressure from above onto the clip and snap it into place. !!! When assembling and disassembling the trailer there is on the moving parts and the snap-locks danger of pinching for fingers and hands !!!
Mainframe assembly
Place the wheel frames and the trunk with the connecting tubes on the ground according to the illustration. Pay attention to the alignment of the trunk: there is a sewn-in QR Code on the inside of (B) with which you can call up the assembly instructions.
Mainframe assembly
First insert the outer ends of one wheel frame into the connecting tubes in the trunk. Close the snap-locks at the desired hole position. The snap-locks are in the perfect position for correct locking when exactly half a hole is visible. It is best to leave the snap-locks open until the drawbar is attached, as this will allow the frame to be more flexible and the tubes to attach more easily. Attach the second bike frame in the same way
Drawbar mounting
Use the two drawbars and the drawbar extension for mounting. Make sure that
the bar with the reacha logo is on the right side (1). Insert the drawbar
extension with the holes facing upwards into the orange snap-locks of the
bars.
Let the drawbar extension protrude a few holes without closing the snap-locks,
so that the drawbar can adjust flexibly when you take the next step.
Attach the two bent ends of the drawbar rails with open snap-lock to the tube ends of the mainframe (3). It is easiest to do this in a standing position and use the floor as a support. To click the snap-locks into place, turn the two short ends of the drawbar slightly inwards and then release the snap-lock closing mechanism (4). The further you pull out the main tube at the top end of the drawbar, the easier it will be. With a wider setting of the wheel frame, the torsion increases. It is therefore easiest to mount the drawbar on the narrowest hole position of the mainframe.
Wheel assembly
The wheel mounts of reacha are designed for wheels with a hub width of 100mm, with a minimum diameter of 20″ and a maximum diameter of 26″. The width of the tyres must not exceed 4.0″. The tightening torque at the mounting must be between 5.0 and 7.5 Nm. Only use wheels that meet these characteristics, otherwise there is a risk of damage, injury and accidents.
Trunk assembly
Open the Velcro of one side panel and fold both ends over the inner tube of the wheel mount. Position the Velcro fasteners one above the other and close them by pressing them together. Do the same on the other side. The trunk is now completely assembled and ready for the first use.
Bow assembly
Open the snap-locks on the bow and first plug it into the front bow connector. Plug the bow then onto the rear bow connector and close the snap-locks. The Bow is ready mounted.
Transport and storage
Put the trunk on the floor. On one side there are the Velcro fasteners
pointing upwards, which you use to close the carrying bag. Put the loose frame
components into the trunk.
Fold the side of the trunk opposite the Velcro fasteners over the frame parts.
Pull the other side of the trunk over the frame parts and close the Velcro.
Bike Connector
The Bike-Connector is pre-mounted on the drawbar extension. When attaching it to the seat post, make sure that it is aligned horizontally to the road depending on its later position. The length of the Bike-Connector should be adjusted so that the drawbar does not drag on the bicycle. Tighten all screws on the BikeConnector so that it cannot twist (tightening torque 12 Nm).
Place the Velcro strip of the Bike-Connector around the seat post at the desired height. Thread the Velcro, strip through the loop of the Bike- Connector, tighten it so strongly that the Bike Connector cannot slip and close the Velcro strip. Fix the Bike-Connector in the height with the help of the tension strap, by attaching it downwards around a suitable bicycle frame component.
Intended use
The reacha is a load trailer for manual operation. It can also be used as a bicycle trailer with the optional Bike-Connector. All product packages are intended for transporting loads during the day on roads and paved paths, as a handcart or, if necessary, as a bicycle trailer, subject to compliance with these instructions. The product package reacha beach 20″ and reacha pro 26″ can also be used on slightly unpaved streets and sand. Animals may only be transported in an adequately secured container intended for the transport of animals.
| bike trailer| hand trailer
---|---|---
Maximum weight allowed (trailer + cargo)| 45 kg| 65 kg
Maximum cargo load (cargo)| 35 kg| 60 kg
Support load on the spar| 1 to 7,5 kg| n. d.
When used as a bicycle trailer in poor visibility conditions, at dusk or at night, the lighting must be installed in accordance with the laws and regulations of the road traffic in the country where it is used.
No use for …
Any use not listed in the above section is not permitted and is at your own
risk. This includes in particular use for the transport of persons. Commercial
use, overloading, excessive speeds (higher than 20 km/h), improper removal of
defects and use on unpaved roads (with the exception of reacha beach 20″/ pro
26″) are not permitted.
reacha may not be used as a trailer for motorized vehicles such as mopeds and
motorcycles. Use with electric bikes is only permitted with so-called pedelecs
with pedal assistance (max.25 km/h). The liability of good goods tegernsee
GmbH for damages caused by non-compliance with these specifications is
excluded.
Guarantee and warranty
Defects caused by improper use, use of force, insufficient maintenance or
normal wear and tear are excluded from liability for material defects. The
duration of the legal warranty depends on the respective country-specific
conditions.
reacha contains parts or components that are subject to natural wear and tear
even under normal use. This wear and tear is highly dependent on the
individual type and intensity of use as well as the respective maintenance and
care condition.
Particularly in the case of intensive use (daily use in all weather
conditions, especially in winter and near salt water, use of pedelecs as
towing bicycles, etc.), individual parts or components may reach their wear
limit even before the statutory warranty period expires. This is premature
wear and tear due to use and does not constitute a defect in the product.
In addition to the individual type and intensity of use, as well as care and
maintenance, the achievement of the wear limit depends on the following
factors: mileage, load from luggage, driving style (hardness of starting and
braking, fast cornering), influence of weather (UV radiation, humidity,
contamination, temperature, salty air, contact with salt water, roads gritted
with salt), storage (prolonged outdoor storage, damp storage) and the state of
care (care intervals, use of care products, maintenance and inspection work).
