SONKEN Max Karaoke Series 3 Karaoke Portable System
WIFI and Touch Screen Model Only
After Installation Please make sure you read “Point 20” NOT for WIRED SCREEN SHARE MODEL (Series 2)
- IMPORTANT: Turn off, the max karaoke unit. The rear RED power switch O icon for OFF is pressed down.
- Insert Micro SD Card with a firmware upgrade. This is a fully installed SD Card

Plug-in mains power cable.
DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU DON’T HAVE MAINS POWER PLUGGED INTO THE UNIT AND WALL SOCKET (ON). Even if the unit is fully charged.

Turn on, max karaoke unit.

It will read the SD Card contents and the screen will be black with a green progress bar advancing ( takes about 3 minutes ) best to watch this entire process.

Once the screen went fully black turn off the max karaoke unit Rear RED power switch O icon for OFF is pressed down.

Again the progress bar will appear. Wait till it completes installing it (screen goes black)

Once completed (black screen) remove the Micro SD Card.

Turn on the max karaoke unit.

The Max Karaoke will now boot up in this sequence as before with the welcome screen (youtube logo).

IMPORTANT: Pop-up screen appears for google `location consent’ click “agree”.

IMPORTANT: Pop-up screen appears for google `tun on google apps’ click “yes”

Click “Settings” on the home screen bottom right icon.

Then select your home WIFI account and enter your WIFI password.

Then select connect and then return to the home screen via the button at bottom of the right screen

A pop-up screen appears for “Welcome to Google” click “Accept Terms and Continue”
If it doesn’t appear just push the YouTube icon on the home screen then it will as part of the set-up process.

Pop up “Update google play services”
IMPORTANT DO NOT CLICK UPDATE Just push your finger anywhere outside the popup box area to opt out.

Pop up the screen for “Turn on Sync” and click “no thanks”

It will now auto-open YouTube the setup process and firmware update are complete.

IMPORTANT: After this firmware upgrade has been installed, you may get from time to time an onscreen prompt asking you to ACCEPT or UPDATE”GOOGLE PLAY STORE SERVICES”, please DO NOT ACCEPT as this may cause problems to the system operating in the future.
Google Play Store Services is NOT COMPATIBLE with the Max Karaoke System in
Australia.
If in error you or someone does accept the upgrade for Google Play Store
Services, you can do from the settings area a “Factory Reset” which will
essentially take you through this setup process all again starting from point
10 in this guide. You should not require the Micro SD Card as that previous
upgrade to the firmware should be the new factory default. If by chance after
the factory reset is performed the system still doesn’t work as before please
contact us and we can post you a Micro SD Card again.
