Agena Astro Telrad Dew Shield from PM Research

Instructions For Easy Installation

  1. Remove the two top screws from the back of the Tel rad (Diagram A).
  2. Slide the shield over the top to the Tel rad, rear first (the rear being where the two steel brackets are located).
  3. Insert screws through both right angle brackets into the Telrad and snug down.
  4. Back out the same screws¼ turn. Take a straight edge (i.e. ruler) and put underneath both brackets. Gently apply upward pressure; this will insure that both brackets are in line with each other.
  5. Snug down on the two screws.
  6. Check to see that the shield pivots from front to back without binding. The shield, when moved, will have enough resistance to stay in place.
  7. If it is too loose or too restricted, gently adjust the black nylon screws
  • on the sides of the shield.

    REMEMBER TO CLOSE THE DEW SHIELD WHEN TELRAD IS NOT IN USE

    1. Adjusting the illuminated target of your Tel rad :
      a) With dew shield in place, flip back the shielld to approximately 45° (Diagram B).
      b) Sight through the cut away arch in the rear of the shield and adjust the Telrad as needed.

    2. To view using “Dew Shield +”@on your reflector telescope (Diagram C):
      a) Tip “Dew Shield +” back so front edge is nearly parallel with Telrad projection plate.
      b) Flip mirror into position for viewing with knob on side of “Dew Shield+”.
      c) While looking into mirror at approximately 90° from normal Telrad viewing angle, adjust angle of “Dew Shield+” so as to give you the proper view.

REMEMBER TO CLOSE THE DEW SHIELD WHEN TELRAD IS NOT IN USE
