Introduction

Dell Hybrid Client (DHC) is a desktop solution that follows the Software- as-a-Service (SaaS) model of software delivery. It provides a hybrid operating environment that enables you to access virtual, cloud, or local applications and resources seamlessly.
It encompasses the cloud and storage aggregation for maintaining security and simplicity.
DHC 2310 can be deployed on two Ubuntu Dell-based operating systems, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS 64-bit and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS 64-bit. It has a minimum memory (RAM) of 8 GB and disk storage of 64 GB or higher.

New and Enhanced Features of Dell Hybrid Client 2310
DHCP option tags for VMware connection
Dell Hybrid Client 2310 supports configuration of DHC option tags. The administrator can change the default DHCP option tags from Wyse Management Suite.
To configure the DHCP option tags from Wyse Management Suite, go to Edit Policies > Dell Hybrid Client 2.x > Advanced > Network Configuration > DHCP Settings.
Multiple monitor position configurations for Chrome browser
Dell Hybrid Client 2310 supports the configuration of the position of multiple monitors of the Chrome browser.
The administrator must enable multiple monitor support from Wyse Management Suite. When a value is specified in the Monitor Id field, the Chrome browser is launched in the specified monitor.
To configure the multiple monitor configurations from Wyse Management Suite, go to Edit Policies > Dell Hybrid Client 2.x > Advanced > Browser Settings > Browser Shortcuts.

Terminal shortcut support in normal and kiosk mode
Dell Hybrid Client 2310 supports the launch of terminal through shortcuts. The terminal can only be launched by an administrator. You can launch the terminal in kiosk mode using the CTRL + Alt + T shortcut.
RDP primary monitor position support for Ubuntu 22.04
The administrator can configure any monitor as the primary monitor in an RDP session from Wyse Management Suite.
To configure the RDP primary monitor position from Wyse Management Suite, go to Edit Policies > Dell Hybrid Client 2.x >
Advanced > Broker Settings > Microsoft Remote Desktop Settings > Windows Resolution and configure the Windows
Resolution option.

Smart card login support for Ubuntu 22.04
From Dell Hybrid Client 2310, Smart Card-based login for Ubuntu 22.04 is supported directly from the device login screen. There are no specific configurations that are required to enable this feature and it is enabled by default.
File access support on Firefox browser
The administrator can configure the URL Allow/Deny List from Wyse Management Suite to enable or disable access to files from the Firefox browser.
To configure the settings from Wyse Management Suite, go to Edit Policies > Dell Hybrid Client 2.x > Advanced > Browser Settings > Firefox Settings.
Firefox kiosk support in Single Application mode
The administrator can launch the Firefox browser using the –kiosk additional argument option on the DHC Single Application mode using the browser shortcuts. The –kiosk command must be in the Additional Argument field of browser shortcuts for the  Firefox browser.
Rebrand Teradici to Anyware
Teradici application is rebranded to Anyware from DHC 2310. Teradici configurations are also rebranded to Anyware in Wyse
Management Suite.
AVD enhancements
The following are the major AVD enhancements in Dell Hybrid Client 2310:

• Support for multimonitor hot plug
• AVD session performance improvements for better use experience.

VMware multiple monitor position support
Dell Hybrid Client 2310 supports configuration of multiple monitors of VMware session. The administrator must enable multiple monitor support from Wyse Management Suite.
To configure the multiple monitor configurations from Wyse Management Suite, go to Edit Policies > Dell Hybrid Client 2.x > Advanced > Broker Settings > VMware Broker Settings.
NOTE: VMware supports monitor id positioning of horizontal multiple monitor setups only.

Fiber connectivity support for OptiPlex 3000 Thin Client
You can use fiber cables that are connected to SFP or Fiber ports to connect to a network or Internet.
To use the fiber connectivity, the BIOS version should be 1.10.0 or later.

Limitations and Behaviors

• Non-FDE to FDE conversion is not supported from WMS and DCA-Enabler is not supported for FDE devices.
• BIOS Update from WMS is not supported for Ubuntu 22.04 FDE.
• In PIW (Connection Mode), you cannot use other application. You must close Imprivata and restart the client to use other application.
• Fingerprint authentication is not supported for Imprivata.
• After you launch and close Imprivata applications in PIE mode, you must manually restart the client to view the authentication screen.
• Imprivata Smart card does not work for the logoff function from the connection mode until you restart your computer.
• In Imprivata, you must remove configuration settings from WMS and restart it manually, in order to move to DHC from the PIE mode.
• Imprivata is not supported on Ubuntu 22.04.
• Smart card device login is not supported on Ubuntu 22.04. DHCX.X – OS – smartcardloginenabler add-on must be installed on Ubuntu 20.04 to enable Smartcard device login.
• In Latitude 3330, for a guest user, when the device prompts for a password, the user must press Enter.
• Base operating system upgrade from 20.04 to 22.04 using apt update & apt upgrade is not recommended in DHC.
• Ubuntu 22.04 screen recorder is not supported for multiple tabs or actions.
• Plugins must be installed only after installing the VDI client.
• After upgrading from 2.0 to 2.5, icons are not displayed on the desktop.
• AVD applications are not supported in multi-monitor setup.
• Monitor hot plug-in is not supported for RDP.
• The filename under the P i c t u r e s folder must have alphanumeric values for FTP copy operation support.
• VLC media player is removed from DHC 2310. You can install it based on the licensing terms. The playback of videos is not possible till you install the required plugins for the video playback in the browser.
• Anyware addon installation succeeds on the device, whereas it shows as failed in the Jobs tab in Wyse Management Suite.
  However, there are no major functionality impacts. Any multimedia-related functionality requires the installation of required codec packages.
