Step 1: Preparation

Ensure that the transom surface is clean and dry before attaching the adapter.

Step 2: Attachment

  • 2 TIE DOWN BRACKETS
  • 2 ½” SHOULDER BOLTS
  • 2 DELRIN WASHERS
  • 4 ¼-20 X 2” FLAT HEAD SS SCREWS
  • 4 ¼-20 SS LOCK NUTS
  • 4 ¼” SS FLAT WASHERS
  • 4 ¼” STRINGER WASHERS
  • 4 PLASTIC TAPERED SEALING WASHERS

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. REMOVE 2 UPPERMOST SIDE SCREWS FROM THE TRANSOM ADAPTER
  2. CLEAN COUNTERSINK IN THE TRANSOM ADAPTER WHERE THE SCREWS WERE
  3. ASSEMBLE THE TIE-DOWN BRACKET, FLAT HEAD SCREWS, AND PLASTIC SEALING WASHERS.
    • NOTE- THE PLASTIC SEALING WASHERS GO BETWEEN THE TIE-DOWN BRACKET AND THE TRANSOM ADAPTER.
  4. APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF SEALANT (RTV, URETHANE OR OTHER) TO THE COUNTERSINKS IN THE TRANSOM ADAPTER.
  5.  SLIDE THE TIE-DOWN BRACKETS INTO PLACE, LINE THE SCREWS UP WITH THE HOLES AND PUSH THEM IN.
  6. PUT THE STRINGER WASHER, WASHER, AND LOCK NUT ON THE SCREWS ON THE BACK SIDE IN THAT ORDER.
    • NOTE- APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF ANTI-SEIZE OR GREASE TO THE SCREWS BEFORE PUTTING THE NUTS ON.
  7. TIGHTEN DOWN THE LOCK NUTS
    •  DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN, MAX TORQUE VALUE OF 6 LBFT.
  8. STEP BACK, LOOK AT THEM, ENJOY HOW NICE THEY LOOK.

STRAPS

  1. USING A 1” WIDE NYLON STRAP, CAMLOCK PREFERRED, LOOP 1 HOOK OVER THE SHOULDER SCREW AND THE OTHER END WRAPPED AROUND THE TRAILER FRAME.
  2. CINCH THE STRAP DOWN SO THERE IS 1/4” – ½” OF PLAY BACK AND FORTH ON THE STRAP.
  3. THE GOAL OF THE STRAPS AND BRACKETS IS TO REDUCE THE BOAT BOUNCING ON THE TRAILER, NOT PRE-LOAD THE BOAT TO THE TRAILER.
  4. YOU’RE NOT TYING DOWN A DUMP TRUCK TO A FLATBED, SNUG IS GOOD, TIGHTER IS NOT MORE BETTER.
