Quick User Guide
In Honor Of Hauser’s Bayfield Cabin
Step 1 – Take out the bread pan
- Push down the bread pan with some force (not too much) turn it counterclockwise to unlock it from the base, and lift it up.
Step 2 – Make bread in a few minutes using the provided Krusteaz Bread Mix
- Attach the kneading blade to the rotating shaft of the pan. Push down the blade as far as it can go.
- Put one cup of room-temperature water in the pan using the provided measuring cup.
- Open a bag of the provided Krusteaz Bread Mix and put that on top of the water. You have two choices: Hawaiian Sweet Bread or Sourdough Artisan Bread.
- Cut the yeast packet and dump the yeast on top of the flour (bread mix).
- Install the bread pan: position the pan a little counterclockwise OFF its final position, push it down with a little force, and then turn it clockwise to securely lock it onto the oven base.
- Close the lid and plug in the power.
- Check or Set the KitchenArm bread maker at the correct settings.
- Hawaiian Sweet Bread
- Menu #29; Crust Color is set for LIGHT.
- Sourdough Artisan Bread
- Menu #1; Loaf Size is set for 1LB; Crust Color is set for MED.
- Simply hit the START button. Your bread will be ready in about 3 hours.
- If you want to do the aforementioned the night before, just increase the time to however many hours from then you would like your bread to be done using the TIME+/ – button.
Step 3 – Turn off the machine
- When baking is done, the machine will beep 10 times. Press and hold the “START/STOP” button for 3 seconds to turn all controls off.
- Unplug the power plug from the electrical outlet.
- There is no need to wait until the KEEP WARM cycle finishes. That cycle is only a backup plan when nobody is available to take out the bread.
Step 4 – Take out the bread pan from the machine
- Using oven mittens, open the lid, turn the bread pan counterclockwise to unlock, and pull the pan straight up.
Step 5 – Take out the loaf from the bread pan
- Place the pan on a heat-resistant surface for 1-2 minutes before taking out the loaf. If it’s hard to take out the loaf after 1-2 minutes, please wait for another 5-10 minutes.
- Still using oven mittens, hold the bottom of the bread pan, move the handle aside, turn the pan upside down over a cooling rack, and shake it until the loaf comes out.
- Place the loaf on the cooling rack to allow excess heat and moisture to escape from its bottom.
Step 6 – Slice the loaf
- When the loaf is completely cool (about 1-2 hours after it’s taken out of the pan), cut it into slices using the new bread knife for the cabin (with the black sheath) and put the bread into a sealed food storage bag (like a gallon size Zip Lock) to soften the crust and to prevent it from drying out.
- While the above step is not necessary, it makes for less compression of the loaf when cutting it.
Step 7 – Put the bread pan back to the machine
- Please wash out the bread pan first. Please take off the kneading blade to get under it and then put it back on.
- Put the pan in the machine at the same counterclockwise angle that you took it out, and then rotate it to the right to lock it into place.
If the kneading blade comes out with the loaf in Step 5,
- Allow the loaf to cool to the touch on the cooling rack. Prepare the blade removal tool (the metal hook).
- Position the small bent hook head inside the blade hole.
- Gently push the hook head at a slight angle until it goes out of the blade hole.
- Adjust the hook head to get a hold of the edge of the hole, and gently pull the blade out. The blade might still be hot.
Be careful not to burn yourself.
