PREFACE

Thank you for purchasing the EZ-Solar Camouflage Digital Wildlife
Camera. This product is a digital camera for wildlife recording and
observation. To make our product easy to use and have a general
understanding, we have created this guide specifically for you. This
manual explains how to use this camera systematically. Read this
manual carefully before use, so that you can master the method quickly
and correctly.

The contents of this manual are for reference only and use the latest
information available at the time of writing. The screen displays,
illustrations, etc. used in this manual are intended to provide a more
detailed and intuitive explanation of camera operations. Due to
differences in technology development and production batches, these
may differ slightly from the camera you actually use.

1. GENERAL INFORMATION

1.1 Introduction
The Wildlife Camera (also called Scouting/Hunting Camera) is a
reconnaissance device that can be activated by a sudden change in
ambient temperature caused by any movement of human (or animal) in
a particular Region Of Interest (ROI), which is detected by a highly
sensitive passive infrared (PIR) sensor and then automatically records
high-quality photos or HD video clips. The camera can reach more
applications through the timer, interval, and other function settings.

Note:
─ Remove the protective foil from the camera lens.
─ Caution! Keep plastic foil and bags away from babies and small
children, as otherwise danger of suffocation.

2. HAZARD, SAFETY, AND WARNING NOTICES

Incorrect use of the camera and accessories can be dangerous for you
and others and can damage or destroy the camera. We, therefore, ask
you to read and strictly observe the following Hazard, safety, and warning
notices.

Intended use

• This camera is intended for taking digital photos and video clips. It has
  been designed for private use and is not suitable for commercial
  purposes.
  Hazards for children and persons with limited ability to operate
  electronic equipment

• The camera, accessory, and packaging are not toys for children. These
  should therefore always be kept away from children (Danger of
  electrocution, poisoning, and suffocation).

• The camera and accessory may not be used by children and persons
  with limited abilities. The camera may only be operated by persons
  physically and mentally able to operate it safely.
  Electrical hazard

• Switch off the camera and remove the batteries if a foreign body or
  liquid has entered the camera. Let all parts dry thoroughly. Otherwise
  danger of fire or electrocution

• Switch off the camera and remove the batteries if the camera has been
  dropped or the housing is damaged. Otherwise danger of fire and
  electrocution.

• The camera may not be dismantled, modified, or repaired (Danger of
  fire and electrocution).

• Only use a power adaptor (not supplied) with the mains voltage
  specified on the rating plate (5V). Otherwise danger of fire or
  electrocution.

• Disconnect the power by pulling the power adaptor out of the socket.

• A plugged-in power adaptor (not supplied) can continue to use power
  and therefore represents a hazard source.

• The power supply may not be used during thunderstorms. Otherwise
  danger of electrocution.

Damage from heat-fire hazard

• Do not leave the camera in places that are susceptible to considerable
  increases in temperature (e.g. a vehicle). The housing and internal
  parts may be damaged, which in turn could cause a fire.

• Do not wrap up the camera or place it on textiles. This could produce a
  build-up of heat in the camera that can cause deformation of the
  housing and may represent a fire hazard.

Injuries and material damage

• Only place the camera on sturdy surfaces. The camera could otherwise
  fall or topple over, causing damage or injury.

• Do not operate the camera whilst running or driving. You could fall or
  cause a traffic accident.

• Only use a mains adaptor (not supplied) for the camera, having the
  input voltage specified on the rating plate (5V). We do not accept any
  liability for damage caused by the use of an incorrect mains adaptor.

• The 230V socket used for the mains adaptor (not supplied) must not
  be covered and accessible at all times so that the mains adaptor can
  be quickly disconnected from the mains when required.

• Ensure adequate ventilation and do not cover the mains adaptor (not
  supplied) to avoid overheating.

• Do not place any open ignition sources, such as lit candles onto or
  close to the device.

• Do not subject the LCD monitor to impact or pressure. This could
  damage the glass of the monitor or the liquid could leak from the inside.
  ─ In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with clear
  water.
  ─ In case of contact with eyes contact a doctor immediately.

• Damage to the electronics, the monitor, or the lens caused by external
  influences such as impacts, falls or others is not covered by the
  warranty and must be paid for.

• Do not drop or bump the camera and always handle it carefully.
  Otherwise, the camera can be damaged.

3. CAMERA OVERVIEW

• The monitor is only switched on in the SETUP mode for changing menu
  settings or viewing existing photos.

• A TF memory card must have been inserted into the memory card slot
  to save photos.

• Using the mini USB connection (USB 2.0), the camera can be
  connected to a computer.

• Using the mode switch the three operating modes OFF, SETUP, and
  ON can be selected.

4. PREPARING THE CAMERA

4.1 Opening and closing the camera

Operating buttons, connections, and batteries are located inside the
Wildlife Camera.

A fix for using a padlock is provided between the two locking brackets,
allowing the camera to be securely locked.

4.2 Inserting the batteries

Open the camera as described in section 4.1 to insert the batteries. The
battery compartment is housed in the upper of the screen. Now open the
protective cover of the battery compartment by pulling the clamping
closure at the top slightly inwards before lifting off the cover.
First, remove any existing batteries from the battery compartment. Insert
4 fully charged batteries as shown in the below figure. When inserting
batteries ensure the correct position as marked for each battery in the
battery compartment.

Note:
─ We recommend using 4 x alkaline AA batteries to ensure the
camera’s normal function.
─ If not inserting 4pcs batteries, the solar panel can also provide a
power supply for the camera. Don’t use rechargeable ones!

4.3 Inserting the memory card

A memory card must have been inserted to save photos and videos.
Insert a TF memory card in the memory card compartment before
switching on the camera.
Switch off the camera and open it as described in section 5.1.

Insert the memory card as shown in the adjacent illustration. Push the
memory card into the compartment until it clicks into place.
To remove the memory card push card in again until it is partly ejected.
Note:
─ TF memory cards up to a capacity of 256GB are supported.
─ Please use the TF memory card for U1 CLASS 10 or above.

4.4 External power supply

The camera can be operated using power from an external power supply.
A 5V power supply with at least 1.0 A is required.

4.5 Assembly with strap

Use the securing strap supplied to attach the Trail Camera to a tree or
another object. The illustrations below demonstrate how to fasten the
securing strap.

Position the Trail Camera as desired and pull the loose end of the
securing strap tight until the camera is firmly secured.
To release the securing strap again, pull at the tab of the securing strap.

4.6 Graphic expression Operation

Open the locking brackets and the protective cover of the battery
compartment – insert batteries – insert memory card – switch to SETUP –
enter system menu by pressing the MENU button – choose to reset to
factory.
The power supply may not be used during thunderstorms. Otherwise,
there is a danger of electrocution.

5. USING THE CAMERA

Before setting up the camera for surveillance, it must be set up for the
respective purpose. For this purpose, there is a setup mode available. In
addition to changing settings, photos and videos can be taken and
existing photos can be viewed in this mode.

5.1 Mode switch

The Trail Camera has three basic operational modes:

• OFF mode: Mode switch in the OFF position.

• ON mode: Mode switch in the ON position
  (LCD screen is off).

• SETUP mode: Mode switch at SETUP position
  (LCD screen is on).

5.2 Operating buttons

In the SETUP mode, you can check and change the settings of the Trail
Camera with the help of its built-in LCD. These settings, found in the
SETUP Menu, let you change the photo or video resolution, the interval
between photos, switch the time imprint on, etc. Moving the power switch
to the SETUP position will turn on the LCD display, and you will see an
information screen that shows how many images have been taken, the
battery level, camera or video mode, etc.

Note:
─ Always move the power switch from OFF to SETUP mode. It is
possible that the camera could lock up if it is switched from ON to
SETUP mode. If this occurs, simply move the switch to OFF and then
push it up to SETUP again.

5.2.1 Functions of operating buttons in standby mode

Below, the operating buttons are described in the recording mode with a
non-activated menu.

: Press this button twice to open the Settings menu.
: Press this button once to start the replay mode.
: Take a photo or video, or stop recording.
: Turn on /turn off the WiFi hotspot.
: Check the capacity of the AA batteries.
: Change to Photo mode.
: Change to Video mode.

5.2.2 Functions of operating buttons in replay mode

Below, the operating buttons are described in replay mode with a nonactivated
menu.

: Long press this button to enter into deleting or protecting
video or photo files.
: Enter into or exit replay mode.
: View existing pictures/videos backward and drag upwards
to View the photo.
: View existing pictures/videos forwards and drag downwards
to View the photo.
: Skip ahead to the video.

: Skip back to the video.
: Start and pause the replay of videos.

5.2.3 Functions of operating buttons in MENU setting

Below, the operating buttons are described in the replay mode with an
activated menu. (Recording and Replay mode).

:Close the Main menu or any sub menu by pressing the
MENU button.
: Move up one menu point or increment the value by 1.
: Move down one menu point or decrease the value by 1.
: Move left to the data setting.
: Move right to the data setting.
: Open selected options or accept selected settings.

Confirm each change to a setting by pressing OK. If the change is not
confirmed by pressing the OK button, the new settings are lost when
leaving the menu.

5.3 Settings Menu

Slide the mode switch to the SETUP position to start the setup mode and
then press the MENU button to call up the menu. All menu options and
possible setting values are listed below. The standard default setting is
always highlighted in bold.

• Mode: Photo, Video, Photo + Video
  Selects the format your camera will record in.
  Photo: For photos only.
  Video: For videos only.
  Photo+Video: A photo (multiple photos, if NUM PICS is set >1) followed
  by a video clip will be captured for each PIR trigger event.

• PIR Interval: Defaulted 30seconds, optional from 5 seconds ~
  60minutes
  Select the short setup period for the camera to wait before it reacts to
  the successive triggering of the main sensor after an animal has first
  been detected. The camera does not record any images or videos
  during the selected interval. This prevents the memory card from being
  filled with unnecessary shots.

Note:
─ If the interval time is short, the camera shooting frequency would be
high, and there would be a high battery consumption. This affects the
usage days of the batteries. If the interval time is long, there will be a
lower consumption of battery power and this guarantees a long time
usage.

• PIR Sensitivity: High / Medium / Low
• Time-lapse: Off / On
  When “on” has been selected, the camera would automatically take
  photos/ videos in the selected time interval, irrespective of whether or
  not the PIR sensor has detected a motion or not. This is useful for
  observing cold-blooded animals e.g. snakes or plants opening up, etc.

As soon as the “On” setting has been confirmed by pressing the OK
button, you can enter the interval time after which photos/ videos are
to be taken.

Note:
─ In this mode, the PIR function would stop working, and the camera
would take photos/ videos in the setting interval time.

•  Loop Recording: On / Off
  If choose On, the camera will delete the earliest pictures or videos after
  the TF card is full.

• IR LED: Auto / Medium / Low / Off
  Set the infrared LEDs brightness.

• Low Bat Night Shot: No IR Led / No Shutting
  ─ No IR Led: The camera takes photos and videos without opening IR
  LEDs at night when the battery is quite low.
  ─ No Shutting: The camera doesn’t take photos and videos at night
  when the battery is quite low.

• Monitoring Period: Off / On
  Set the timer to “On” if the camera should only be active within a certain
  time.
  Once “On” has been confirmed with the OK button, the start and end
  time can be set.
  If the start time is, for instance, set to 18:35 and the end time to 8:25,
  the camera will be operational from 6:35 pm of the current day until
  8:25 am of the following day. The camera will not be triggered and will
  not take any photos or videos outside of this period.

• Image size : 30M: (7392×4160); 24M: (6544×3680); 20M:
  (5888×3312); 16M: (5376×3024); 12M: (4608×2592); 8M:
  (3840×2160); 4M: (2560×1440); 2M: (1920×1088)
  Select the desired resolution for photos. We recommend the resolution
  8M.
  A higher resolution produces a somewhat better photo quality but
  results in larger files requiring more space on the memory card. 30M,
  24M, 20M, 16M, and 12M resolutions are generated by interpolation
  which can also affect quality.

• Picture NO: Selects how many images are taken in sequence per
  trigger. Default 1P.

• Shutter speed: 1/15, 1/20, 1/30

• Resolution: 4K(3840 x 2160 30fps); 2K(2560 x 1440 30fps);
  1296P(2304 x 1296 30fps);1080P(1920 x 1080 30fps); 720P(1280 x
  720 30fps); 480P(848 x 480 30fps); 360P(640 x 368 30fps)
  Select the required video resolution.
  A higher resolution produces higher-quality videos but results in larger
  files requiring more space on the memory card.

• Video Length: Defaulted 10 seconds, optional
  Sseconds~1BOseconds
  Specify the duration of a video recording when the camera is triggered
  automatically. The recording period for videos is not limited in the
  SETUP mode.

• Record Audio: Off / On

• Language: Select the desired menu language
  The following languages are available: English, German, French,
  Spanish, Chinese, etc.

• Default setting (Reset to factory): Cancel / OK
  Press “OK” to reset the camera settings to the default values and
  confirm the selection by pressing the OK button.

• Format: Cancel / OK
  All files are deleted by formatting the memory card. Press the OK
  button and confirm formatting by selecting “OK”.
  We recommend formatting the memory card if it has already been used
  on other devices or if it is a new card.
  Caution: Ensure that files still required have been backed up before
  formatting!

• Date / Time: Set date and time

• AA Battery: Check the capacity of the AA batteries.

• Time Format: 12hour / 24hour

• Date Stamp: On / Off
  Select “ON” to print the date, time, temperature, battery percentage,
  and moon phase on each photo or video. Otherwise, select “Off”.

• Beep Sound: On / Off

• Camera name: 4K WIFI CAM
  You can use a combination of 10 digits and 26 letters to document the
  location of the photos and videos. When using several cameras this
  makes it easier to identify the location when viewing photos and videos.

• Password Setting: Off / On
  After selecting “On” enter a four-digit password to protect your camera
  against unauthorized access.
  This password must be entered each time the camera is switched on
  in the SETUP mode before the camera can be used.
  Note:
  ─ If you forgot your password, please unlock the camera with the
  password “OPEN”.

• Bluetooth: Off / On

• WiFi SSID: 4K WIFI CAM-****
  You can use a combination of 10 digits and 26 letters to document the
  location of the photos and videos. When using several cameras this
  makes it easier to identify the location when viewing photos and videos.

• WiFi Password: Default 12345678

• Auto WiFi Off: 1Minute, 2Minutes, 3Minutes
  If the camera turns on the WiFi hotspot, but the phone doesn’t connect
  to the WiFi hotspot successfully within the selected time, then the WiFi
  hotspot will disconnect automatically and the camera will return to
  SETUP mode or ON mode.

• Auto Power Off: 3 min / 5 min / 10 min / Off
  If there is no operation more than the selected time, then the camera
  will turn off automatically in SETUP mode.

• Backlight: 1Minute, 3Minutes, 5Minutes, Off
  The LCD monitor would automatically turn off after the set time.

• Version: You can check the software version.

• Mcu FW Update

5.4 Wi-Fi connection

Download APP:
Before using the Wi-Fi function, please refer to the label details on the
battery compartment for the APP name or QR code. And then download
the APP from the APP store, Android play, or Amazon market accordingly
to your smartphone system.

Add your device:
Open the app and follow the on-screen guides to set up the camera with
the app. After successfully connecting the camera with the app, you could
select the icon of the settings to begin customizing your camera
settings, or use our default configuration for a quick setup.

Through the mobile application, the Wi-Fi function allows you to:

• View, download, and delete recorded photos and videos.
• Take photos and videos.
• Modify the settings.
• Check the remaining energy level and memory capacity.
  Note:
  ─ During the WiFi connection, please make sure that your smartphone
  Bluetooth function is in the “ON” state.
  ─ In the step of WiFi connection, please go to your smartphone WLAN
  choice. The default Wi-Fi name is 4k WiFi CAM-…, and then input the
  default password “12345678”.
  ─ Press the WiFi button in the camera to exit WiFi, and then the
  camera will automatically return to SETUP mode or ON mode.

The live screen of the APP shows the current live image from the trail
camera and also offers the following options:

5.5 Mounting and positioning the trail camera mounting

After you’ve set up the camera’s parameters to your personal
preferences, you’re ready to take it outside and slide the power switch to
“ON”. When setting up the trail camera for scouting games or other
outdoor applications, you must be sure to mount it in place correctly and
securely.

We recommend mounting the trail camera on a sturdy tree with a
diameter of about 15cm. To get the optimal picture quality, the tree should
be about 5 meters away from the place to be monitored, with the camera
placed at a height of 1.5-2m. Also, keep in mind that you will get the best
results at night when the subject is within the ideal flash range, no farther
than 20m and no closer than 3m from the camera.

5.6 Sensing Angle and Distance Test

To test whether the trail camera can effectively monitor the area you
choose, this test is recommended to check the sensing angle and
monitoring distance of the trail camera.

To perform the test:

• Switch the trail camera to the SETUP mode.

• Make movements in front of the camera at several positions within the
  area where you expect the game or subjects to be. Try different
  distances and angles from the camera.

• If the motion indicator LED light blinks, it indicates that position can be
  sensed. If it does not blink, that position is outside of the sensing area.
  The results of your testing will help you find the best placement when
  mounting and aiming the trail camera. The height away from the ground
  for placing the device should vary with the animal size appropriately. In
  general, 0.9 to 1.8m is preferred.

You can avoid potential false triggers due to temperature and motion
disturbances in front of the camera by not aiming it at a heat source or
nearby tree branches or brush (especially on windy days).

5.7 Switching ON the camera

Once you switch to the ON mode, the motion indicator LED (red) will blink
for about 5 seconds. This gives you time to close and lock the front cover
of the trail camera and then walk away. During this time, the motion
indicator LED will blink red continuously. After it stops blinking, the PIR is
active, and any motion that is detected by it will trigger the capture of
photos or videos as programmed in the SETUP Menu. Be sure you have
read the descriptions of the capture number, Interval, and Sensor Level
parameters. Please note that the PIR is strongly sensitive to ambient
temperature. The greater the temperature difference between the
environment and your subject, the farther the possible sensing distance.
The average sensing distance is about 18m.

6. Connecting to computer

The Wildlife Camera can be connected to a computer using the
supplied USB cables to view existing photos/videos.

1. Connect the camera to your computer
   using the USB cable.

2. The camera switches on automatically in
   the USB mode, irrespective of the
   selection on the mode switch.

3. The camera installs itself on the
   computer as an additional drive under
   the name “Removable storage device”.

4. Double-click on the device to detect the folder “DCIM”.

5. The photos and videos are located in the subfolders of the “DCIM”
   folder.

6. You can copy or move photo and video files on the computer.
   Alternatively, you can insert the memory card in a card reader on the
   computer.
   Note:
   ─ Mac computers Show an “Unknown” drive on the desktop. When
   clicking on this drive, the program “iPhoto” is automatically started.

8. TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

1. The camera won’t power on.

Possible Cause

• Batteries not fully installed, or not installed correctly.
  Recommended Solution(s)

• Install new AA alkaline batteries.

• Make sure the positive (+) and negative (-) poles are lined up properly
  in each compartment, with the (-) pole making contact with the spring.

2. The camera takes images without animals.

Possible Cause

• A “false trigger” is caused by motion (branches, water, etc.) and/or high
  heat in front of the camera lens when there is no subject in the image.
  Recommended Solution(s)

• Move the camera to a spot without branches or water close to the
  camera.

• Change PIR Sensitivity in menu settings.

• Move the camera to an area without movement to check and see if it
  still takes pictures without movement. Contact customer service for
  possible repair or replacement.

3. The camera responds slowly to movement but does not
   always capture an image when triggered.

Possible Cause

• The PIR sensitivity setting needs to be adjusted.
  Recommended Solution(s)

• Go to “PIR Sensitivity” in the Setting Menu and increase the PIR
  sensitivity

4. The battery life is shorter than expected.

Possible Cause

• Battery life will vary with operating temperature and the number of
  images taken over time. Typically, you will be able to capture several
  thousand images before the batteries die.
  Recommended Solution(s)

• Make sure you install all new alkaline AA batteries.

• Longer delays will increase battery life. (You’ll take fewer images and
  use less flash). Adjust these in the Settings Menu.

5. The camera stops taking images or won’t take images.

Possible Cause

The SD Card is full, in the locked position, improperly formatted, or the
batteries are dead.

Recommended Solution(s)

• Check the SD card. If full, download images, erase from the card and
  reinstall the empty card in the camera.

• Move the “write protect” switch to the unlocked position.

• Reformat the card by using the “FORMAT” option in the Settings Menu.

6. The images appear off-color, i.e. red, green, or blue.

Possible Cause

• The sensor is confused in certain lighting conditions.
  Recommended Solution(s)

• If seen consistently, the sensor may need repair. Contact customer
  service.

7. The videos are too short, not recording to the length set.

Possible Cause

• Batteries are low, SD card is full, or settings need adjustment.

Recommended Solution(s)

• Check battery power.
• Check the SD card. Replace or erase if full.
• Adjust the video record length to avoid the potential overheating of
  batteries and/or electronic components.

8. I forgot the password of the trail camera.

Recommended Solution(s)

• Just enter the words “OPEN” to start the camera again.

9. I forgot the WiFi password.

Recommended Solution(s)

• Default the trail camera to restore all settings to the factory defaults.
• And then the password is “12345678”

10. The Bluetooth couldn’t open the WiFi hotspot.

Possible Cause

• The “Bluetooth” setting is off.

Recommended Solution(s)

• Go to the Settings Menu, select “Bluetooth”, select “ON”

9.1 Care

Do not use any corrosive cleaners, such as methylated spirits, thinners,
etc. to clean the camera housing and supplied accessory. When required,
clean the system components with a soft dry cloth.

9.2 Storage

Always remove the battery from the housing if the camera is not being
used for some time and store the battery separately. On a day-to-day
basis and over longer periods the batteries can be kept at a dry location
out of the reach of children.

9.3 Disposal

For disposal, separate packaging into different types and dispose of it in
line with environmental regulations in supplied collection containers.
Batteries and storage batteries may not be disposed of in the domestic
waste. Consumers are obliged by law to return used batteries to
communal collection points or dealers selling batteries. Storage batteries
and batteries do therefore contain the adjacent symbol.
