Safety instructions

Read these instructions carefully. Keep this document for future reference. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.

Special notes on LCD monitors

The following are normal with the LCD monitor and do not indicate a problem.

• Due to the nature of the fluorescent light, the screen may flicker during initial use. Turn off the power switch and then turn it on again to make sure the flicker disappears.
• You may find slightly uneven brightness on the screen depending on the desktop pattern you use.
• The LCD screen has 99.99% or more effective pixels. It may include blemishes of 0.01% or less such as a missing pixel or pixel lit all the time.
• Due to the nature of the LCD screen, an afterimage of the previous screen may remain after switching the image, when the same image is displayed for hours. In this case, the screen is recovered slowly by changing the image or turning off the power switch for a few hours.

Cleaning your monitor

Please carefully follow these guidelines when cleaning the monitor:

• Always unplug the monitor before cleaning.
• Use a soft cloth to wipe the screen and cabinet front and sides.

Accessibility

Be sure that the power outlet you plug the power cord into is easily accessible and located as close to shipment operator as possible. When you need to disconnect power from the equipment, be sure to unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

Safe listening

To protect your hearing, follow these instructions.

• Gradually increase the volume until you can hear it clearly and comfortably and without distortion.
  After setting the volume level, do not increase it after your ears have adjusted.

• Limit the amount of time listening to music at high volume.

• Avoid turning up the volume to block out noisy surroundings.

• Turn the volume down if you can’t hear people speaking near you.

Warnings

• Do not use this product near water.
• Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand or table. If the product falls, it could be seriously damaged.
• Slots and openings are provided for ventilation to ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating. These openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface. This product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register, or in a built-in installation unless proper ventilation is provided.
• Never push objects of any kind into this product through cabinet slots as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock.  Never spill liquid of any kind onto or into the product.
• To avoid dmage of internal components and to prevent battery leakage, do not place the product on a vibrating surface.
• Never use it under sporting, exercising, or any vibrating environment which will probably cause unexpected short current or damage internal devices.
• The adapter is only used for this monitor, do not be used for other purposes.

Using electrical power

• This product should be operated from the type of power indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power available, consult your dealer or local power company.
• Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not locate this product where people will walk on the cord.
• If an extension cord is used with this product, make sure that the total ampere rating of the equipment plugged into the extension cord does not exceed the extension cord ampere rating. Also, make sure that the total rating of all products plugged into the wall outlet does not exceed the fuse rating.
• Do not overload a power outlet, strip or receptacle by plugging in too many devices. The overall system load must not exceed 80% of the branch circuit rating. If power strips are used, the load should not exceed 80% of the power strip’s input rating.
• This product’s power cord is equipped with a three-wire grounded plug. The plug only fits in a grounded power outlet. Make sure the power outlet is properly grounded before inserting the power cord plug. Do not insert the plug into a non-grounded power outlet. Contact your electrician for details

Warning! The grounding pin is a safety feature. Using a power outlet that is not properly grounded may result in electric shock and/or injury

Note : The grounding pin also provides good protection from unexpected noise produced by other nearby electrical devices that may interfere with the performance of this product.

• Use the product only with the supplied power supply cord set. If you need to replace the power cord set, make sure that the new power cord meets the following requirements: detachable type, UL listed/CSA certified, type SPT-2, rated 7 A 125 V minimum, VDE approved or its equivalent, 4.6 meters (15 feet) maximum length

Product servicing

Do not attempt to service this product yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage points or other risks. Refer all servicing to qualified service persona

Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel when

• the power cord or plug is damaged, cut or frayed
• liquid was spilled into the product
• the product was exposed to rain or water
• the product has been dropped or the case has been damaged
• the product exhibits a distinct change in performance, indicating a need for service
• the product does not operate normally after following the operating instructions

Note : Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions, since improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to normal condition.

Potentially explosive environments

Switch off your device in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere and obey all signs and instructions. Potentially explosive atmospheres include areas where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine. Sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death. Switch off the device near depots, storage and distribution areas; chemical plants; or where blasting operations are ogress. Areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere are often, but not always, marked. They include below deck on boats, chemical transfer or storage facilities, vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane butane), and areas where the air contains chemicals or particles such as grain, dust or metal powders

LCD pixel statement

The LCD unit is produced with high-precision manufacturing techniques. Nevertheless, some pixels nationally misfire or appear as black or red dots. This has no effect on the recorded image and does not constitutlfunction

This product has been shipped enabled for power management:

• Activate display’s Sleep mode within 5 minutes of user inactivity.
• Wake the monitor when it is in Active Off mode, move the mouse or press any keyboard key

Tips and information for comfortable use

Computer users may complain of eyestrain and headaches after prolonged use. Users are also at risk of physical injury after long hours of working in front of a computer. Long work periods, bad posture, poor work habits, stress, inadequate working conditions, personal health and other factors greatly increase the risk of physical injury

Incorrect computer usage may lead to carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, tenosynovitis or otherusculoskeletal disorders. The following symptoms may appear in the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, neck or back:

• numbness, or a burning or tingling sensation
• aching, soreness or tenderness
• pain, swelling or throbbing
• stiffness or tightness
• coldness or weakness

If you have these symptoms, or any other recurring or persistent discomfort and/or pain related to computer use, consult a physician immediately and inform your company’s health and safety department.

The following section provides tips for more comfortable computer use.

Finding your comfort zone

Find your comfort zone by adjusting the viewing angle of the monitor, using a footrest, or raising your sitting height to achieve maximum comfort. Observe the following tips:

• refrain from staying too long in one fixed posture
• avoid slouching forward and/or leaning backward
• stand up and walk around regularly to remove the strain on your leg muscles

Taking care of your vision

Long viewing hours, wearing incorrect glasses or contact lenses, glare, excessive room lighting, poorly focused screens, very small typefaces and low- contrast displays could stress your eyes. The following sections provide suggestions on how to reduce eyestrain.

Eyes

• Rest your eyes frequently.
• Give your eyes regular breaks by looking away from the monitor and focusing on a instant point.
• Blink frequently to keep your eyes from drying out.

Display

• Keep your display clean.
• Keep your head at a higher level than the top edge of the display so your eyes point downward when looking at the middle of the display.
• Adjust the display brightness and/or contrast to a comfortable level for enhanced text readability and graphics clarity.
• Eliminate glare and reflections by:
  • placing your display in such a way that the side faces the window or any light source
  • minimizing room light by using drapes, shades or blinds
  • using a task light
  • changing the display’s viewing angle
  • using a glare-reduction filter
  • using a display visor, such as a piece of cardboard extended from the display’s top front edge
• Avoid adjusting your display to an awkward viewing angle.
• Avoid looking at bright light sources, such as open windows, for extended periods of time.

Developing good work habits

Develop the following work habits to make your computer use more relaxing and productive:

• Take short breaks regularly and often.
• Perform some stretching exercises.
• Breathe fresh air as often as possible.
• Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy body.

SCREEN POSITION ADJUSTMENT

In odder to optimize the best viewing position, you can adjust the tilt of the monitor.

Attaching the Base

Note : Remove the monitor and monitor base from its packaging. Carefully place the monitor face-down on a stable surface — use a cloth to avoid scratching the screen

Height Adjustment

After pressing the top of the monitor then you can adjust the height of the monitor.

Tilt

Please see the illustration below for an example of the tilt range. Only at the highest point can 25 degrees of recline be offered for the angle of elevation.

Swivel

With the built-in pedestal, you can swivel the monitor for the most comfortable viewing angle

Monitor Pivot

Before rotating the display, lift it to the top position and then push it back to the utmost degree. Rotatelockwise or counter-clockwise until the monitor stops at ±90°.

Connecting the adapter and AC Power cord

• Check first to make sure that the power cord you use is the correct type required for your area.
• The monitor has a universal power supply that allows operation in either 100/120 V AC or 220/240 V AC voltage area. No user-adjustment is required.
• Plug one end of the AC power cord to the Adapter, and plug the other end into an AC outlet.
• For units using 120 V AC: Use a UL-listed cord set, type SVT wire and plug rated 10 A/125 V.
• For units using 220/240 V AC: Use a cord set consisting of H05VV-F cord and plug rated 10 A/250 V. The cord set should have the appropriate safety approvals for the country in which the equipment will be installed.

Power saving

The monitor will be driven into “Power Saving” mode by the control signal from the display controller, dictated by the amber-color power LED.

The power saving states will be kept until a control signal has been detected or the keyboaror mouse activated. The recovery time from Active OFF state back to ON state is aroun3 seconds.

Display Data Channel (DDC)

To make installation easier, so long as your system supports the DDC protocol, the monitor is able to plug-and-play. The DDC is a communication protocol through which the monitor automatically informs the host system about its capabilities; for example, supported resolutions and corresponding timing. The monitor supports the DDC2B standard

Installation

1. Turn off your computer and unplug your computer’s power cord.
2. Connect the signal cable to the HDMI (optional) and /or DP (optional) input socket of the monitor, and the HDMI (optional) and /or DP (optional) output socket of the graphics card on the computer.
3. Insert the monitor power cable into the power port at the back of the monitor.
4. Plug the power cords of your computer and your monitor into a nearby electrical outlet.

It can allow a AMD Resync Premium supported graphics source to dynamically adjust display recreate based on typical content frame rates for power efficient, virtually stutter free and low-latency display update.

The OSD (On Screen Display) can be used to adjust the settings of your LCD monitor. Press the MENU key to open the OSD. You can use the OSD to adjust the picture quality, OSD position and general settings. Danced settings, please refer to following page:

Main page

Selecting the input

Open the Input control and select HDMI1(2.0), HDMI2(2.0), DP or Auto Source. When you are done, press the joystick to exit current page and store.

Main menu

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.
2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select Picture from the OSD. The toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.
3. Toggle the joystick to the left or right to adjust the sliding scales. Information Hot Key : Show Monitor Information and Reset control function. Modes Hot Key : To change Modes Hot Key menu. Exit Hot Key X : To exit current page and store.

Picture

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.

2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select Picture from the OSD.Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.

3. Toggle to the left or right to adjust the sliding scales or choose functions.

4. The Picture Page can be used to adjust the Brightness, Contrast, Black Boost, Low Blue Light, ACM, HDR, Super Sharpness, Max Brightness.

5. Brightness: Adjust the brightness from 0 to 100.
   Note : Adjusts the balance between light and dark shades.

6. Contrast: Adjust the contrast from 0 to 100.
   Note : Sets the degree of difference between light and dark areas

7. Black Boost: Adjust the black level from 0 to 10. Enhances shadows by increasing the brightness without changing lighter shades.

8. Low Blue Light: The display uses the low blue light panel. It complies with TÜV Rhineland Low Blue Light Hardware Solution certification under factory reset/default setting (Low Blue Light=Standard, Brightness: 70%, Contrast: 50%, CCT: 6500K).

9. ACM: Turn ACM on or of
   Note : Set to “On”, will be based on the current screen to dynamic contrast adjustment.

10. HDR: can control off and auto, the default is off, set to auto will automatically detect and deal with HDR signal.

Note : 1. When HDR = Auto, the Modes will also be automatically set to “HDR”. 2. When HDR = Auto, some parameters :(ACM, Gamma, Contrast, Low Blue Light, Black Boost…) functions is gray out and disable, and if you change other adjustable parameters, the “Modes” will not jump to “User” Mode.

11. Super Sharpness: Turn the Super Sharpness On or Off. Super Sharpness technology can simulate high-resolution images by boosting the pixel density of the original source to make images sharper and clearer.
12. Max Brightness: The default is Off, select On to compensate for higher brightness.

Color

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.

2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select Color from the OSD.Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.

3. Toggle to the left or right to adjust the sliding scales or choose functions.

4. The Color Page can be used to adjust the Gamma, Color Temp., Modes, Color Space,Grayscale Mode, 6-axis Hue, 6-axis Saturate.

5. Gamma mode allows you to adjust the luminance tone.The default value is 2.2 (standard value for Windows).

6. Color temperature: Default is warm. You can choose Cool, Normal, Warm, BugLight or User.

7. Modesto choose scenario mode.

8. Color Space: You can choose sRGB, Rec.709, HDR, EBU, DCI, SMPTE-C and General.
   

   • CIE 1931 positive and negative error of 0.05, (“HDR” according to current Panel to fine-tune).
   • N/A means to follow the current parameter value (Ex. Low Blue Light parameter value).
   • Color Space = HDR, the Modes = HDR, Picture page HDR = Auto.
   • Modes = (Standard/ECO/Graphic/Movie/User) is selected; the color space is auto set to “General”.
   • Color space = (sRGB/Rec.709/HR/EBU/DCI/SMPTE-C), if to adjust the parameter the Modes will not jump to User mode, but the Color Space = “General” except.
   • Color Space = (sRGB/Rec.709/HDR/EBU/DCI/SMPTE-C), 6-Axis Hue & Saturate is gray out and unavailable.
   • Color Space = (sRGB/Rec.709/HDR/EBU/DCI/SMPTE-C), Grayscale Mode is gray out and unavailable.

9. Grayscale Mode: To choose Grayscale mode.

10.  6-axis Hue: Adjust the red, green, blue, yellow, magenta and cyan hue.

11.  6-axis Saturate: Adjust the red, green, blue, yellow, magenta and cyan saturation

Audio

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.
2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select Audio from the OSD.Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.
3. Toggle to the left or right to adjust the sliding scales or choose functions.
4. The Audio Page can be used to adjust the Volume, Mute.
5. Volume: Adjust the volume
6. Mute: To choose mute on/off .

Gaming

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.

2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select Gaming from the OSD.Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.

3. Toggle to the left or right to control functions.

4. The Gaming Page can be used to adjust the Over Drive, AMD Resync Premium, Refresh Rate NM, VRB, Aim Point.

5. Over Drive: Select Off, Normal or Extreme.

6. AMD Resync Premium: To control support AMD Resync Premium or not, default is On.

7.  Refresh rate nub: Display the panel’s current refresh rate on the screen
   Note : If AMD Resync Premium set “On” you can see the V Frequency to changes in the OSD

8. VRB: To choose whether to support dynamic picture more clean control, default is Off.
   Note

   • HDR setting: “Auto” is not support VRB.
   • VRB set “On”, when to turn on AMD Resync Premium, will auto set VRB is “Off”.
   • VRB set “On”, when to adjustment (Brightness, Low Blue Light, ACM), will auto set VRB is “Off”.
   • VRB function does not affect the (Logo, Aim Point, Message and Input Icon) brightness.
   • VRB setting “On”, when detection of Input Timing <75Hz, will auto off the VRB and gray out to disable.
   • VRB = (Normal or Extreme), because the IC control dynamic picture is cleaner, so the overaghtness will be dark, “Extreme” will be darker than “Normal”

9. Aim point: Show an Aim point on the screen for shooting games

OSD

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.
2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select OSD from the OSD.Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.
3. Toggle to the left or right to adjust the sliding scales or choose functions.
4. The OSD Page can be used to adjust the Language, OSD Timeout, Transparency, OSD Lock.
5. Language: Set the OSD menu language.
6. OSD timeout: Adjust the delay before turning off the OSD menu.
7. Transparency: Select the transparency when using gaming mode. The transparency can be 0% (OFF), 20%, 40%, 60%, or 80%.
8. OSD Lock: To choose OSD lock on/of

Note:

OSD Locked

• * Set the OSD Lock to “On” by the OSD option and press “Enter” to execute the All Key lock function.

  • The “OSD Locked” message will be displayed in the middle of the screen.
  • LED lights will be changed from blue light to orange light.
  • Press any Key screen to prompt “OSD Locked” message.

OSD Unlocked:

• * In normal display condition to press the “Navi Key” in the middle of more than 3 seconds to trigger “OSD Unlock”.

  • The “OSD Unlock” message will be displayed in the middle of the screen.
  • LED lights will be restored to blue light.

System

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.

2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select System from the OSD.Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.

3. Toggle to the left or right to control functions.

4. The System Page can be used to adjust the Input, Auto Source, Wide Mode, Hot Key Assignment, DDC/CI, HDMI Black Level, Quick Start Mode, Deep Sleep.

5. Input: Select the source from HDMI1(2.0), HDMI2(2.0), DP.

6. Auto Source: The default is “On”, which can support auto search for signal source in order.
   Note : Surround application must set Auto Source is “Off”.

7. Wide mode: You can select which screen aspect you are using. The options are Aspect and Full.

8. Hot Key Assignment: Select the function of shortcut key 1 and keys 2.
   Note

   • Hot Key 1 and Hot Key 2 can`t repeat the same function.
   • Hot Key 1 default is (Modes), Hot Key 2 default is (Brightness).
   • Because some functions limit the Hot Key to be gray out and unavailable.
   • Hot Key can define of : (Modes, Brightness, Volume, Gamma, Contrast, Low Blue Light, Over Drive, VRB).

9. DDC/CI: Allows the monitor settings to be set through the software on the PC.
   Note : DDC/CI, short for Display Data Channel/Command Interface, which allows monitor controls to be sent via software.

10. HDMI Black level: Select to set HDMI black level.

11. Quick start mode: Select Off or On. Turn on to speed up boot speed.

12. Deep sleep: When Deep Sleep is set to on and there is no signal, the monitor will enter sleep mode, this mode can save power consumption

Save Setting to…(User mode only)

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.
2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select “Save Setting to…” from the OSD.Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.
3. Save Setting to Game mode: There are three user-defined profiles available. When you have decided what settings suit you, save them and system will be able to recall the settings in the future when you turn on gaming mode .

Troubleshooting

Before sending your LCD monitor for servicing, please check the troubleshooting list below to see if you can self-diagnose the problem.

HDMI/DP Mode (Optional)

to maximum or reset to their default setting.
Off| Check the power switch.

Check if the AC power cord is properly connected to the monitor.

Amber| Check if the video signal cable is properly connected at the back of monitor.

Check if the computer system is switched on and in power saving/standby mode.

If OSD Lock is On, the LED status set Amber.
