Product Information
- The Firmware Update Instruction User’s Guide provides instructions for updating the firmware of a monitor. The firmware update tool is an application used specifically for this purpose.
- The firmware update process requires the monitor to be connected to a power source throughout the update. Additionally, only one video input source should be connected to the monitor, such as DisplayPort, HDMI, or USB Type-C. All other video cables between the monitor and the computer should be unplugged.
- The USB Type-C cable or USB Type-C cable should be directly connected between the monitor and the computer. No other devices should be used in between. It is important to disconnect all other USB cables and USB devices between the monitor and the computer as well. Furthermore, all other monitors should be disconnected from the notebook or desktop to ensure only one display is connected during the firmware update.
- It is recommended to update the firmware using a notebook as the monitor screen may go blank during the update process.
- Prior to conducting the firmware update, the DDM (Dell Display Manager) application should be exited. The USB upstream cable or USB Type-C cable should not be unplugged until the updating process finishes. Sleep mode should be disabled before launching the firmware update. It is important to update one monitor at a time and not conduct firmware updates on multiple monitors simultaneously.
- The firmware update process involves double-clicking the ISP icon, initializing for device status, loading the firmware file automatically or manually selecting it, clicking Update to start updating the new firmware, and following the on-screen instructions to restart the monitor once the updating process is completed. The update may take up to 12 minutes, and it is advised not to power off or disconnect cables during the update.
- If any errors occur during or after the update, troubleshooting steps are provided. These steps include closing the Monitor Firmware Update Utility, turning off the monitor, re-plugging the power cord, turning on the monitor, and trying the update again. If the USB device becomes inactive after the new firmware installation, the updating steps should be retried. If a warning message appears stating that the firmware update was not completed, the monitor’s firmware should be retried for updating without turning off the ISP tool until the update is complete.
