General

  1. The distributor assumes no liability for injury to persons, loss or damage caused by improper installation or use of the vehicle, including – but not limited to – assembly or use that is in conflict with the instructions supplied with your carrier or the instructions of your dealer.
  2. Consult your dealer if you have questions about handling, use and limitations of the carrier.
  3. Read all instructions carefully before mounting and using the carrier
  4. The carrier and its components may not be modified in any way.

Initial use

  1. Check that all parts of the carrier are included, as described in the instructions.
  2. Check that all parts are undamaged and functional.

Mounting the carrier to the tow bar

  1. If you are in in doubt, consult your dealer about mounting or adjusting the carrier to your tow bar.
  2.  Read and follow the assembly instructions. Do not mount the carrier in any other way than indicated in the instructions.
  3. Check that the carrier is sufficiently upright, firmly and stably mounted on the tow bar.

Loading the carrier

  1.  If you are in doubt, consult your dealer about loading the carrier.
  2.  The lowest recommended maximum load takes priority and may never be exceeded
  3. The maximum load for the carrier may not be exceeded, as described in the instructions.
  4. The recommended maximum load on the tow bar of the vehicle has priority over the load of your carrier
  5. The bikes must be mounted carefully following the instructions.
  6. Put the largest and heaviest bike closest to the vehicle, followed by the smaller and lighter bikes.
  7. The carrier may only be used for standard bicycle frames. Never exceed the maximum size of thebikes, as indicated in the instructions.
  8. Bikes with a carbon frame or carbon parts are mounted on the carrier at your own risk. Multanational Sales assumes no liability for damage to carbon frames or carbon parts. 4.9 All easily removable parts on the bike must be removed before transport, such as child seats, panniers, baskets and bike pumps. This is to prevent loss and for the safety of other road users.If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic tailgate opening function, this function must be switched off in order to prevent damage to the vehicle and the carrier.
  9.  Keep the carrier and bicycles in a safe distance from the exhaust pipe to prevent any damage by the heat of the exhaust pipe.
  10. Keep the instructions in the vehicle at which the carrier is mounted.

5.0 Tow bar

  1. Information about the carrying capacity of the tow bar can be found on a plate next to the tow bar or in the information brochure of your vehicle.
  2. The combined weight of the carrier and the bicycles is not allowed to exceed the maximum allowed load for the tow bar.
  3. Check the tow bar before use of the carrier.
  4. The tow bar must be made of steel. The carrier is not suitable for tow bars made of aluminum or cast iron (GGG40). Consult your dealer in case of doubt
  5. Dirt and oil must be removed prior to use of the tow bar.
  6. Any protective paint or film on ball might have a negative effect on the stability of the carrier and must be removed before the carrier is used.
  7. Check the ball and its base for damage and wear. A worn tow bar can have a negative effect on the stability of the carrier.
  8. If the carrier is not stable on the tow bar or can easily turn horizontally, the carrier must be adjusted. If in doubt, consult your dealer about the adjustment on the tow bar.

Tilting mechanism

  1. If the carrier has a tilting mechanism, for access to the luggage compartment:
  2. Hold the bikes while tilting and allow the assembly to tilt carefully. This is for your own safety and to prevent damage to the carrier and the bikes. Check that the mechanism is properly locked back into position after tilting. This prevents the carrier from accidentally tilting, e.g. while driving.

Lights

  1. Before driving, check the functioning of the lights of the car and the carrier.
  2. When the fog light is used, the car’s fog light must remain off.
  3. Consult your dealer if your car indicates an error
  4. regarding the lights.
  5. Securing the carrier and bikes
  6. All locks on the bikes and the carrier must be in the locked position and the keys must be removed during use.
  7. Knobs with a lock must first be fully tightened before they are locked.
  8. Check that the lock of the tow bar coupling is inthe locked position before use of the carrier.

Driving properties

  1. Adjust your speed and driving behavior to the prevailing road conditions and the transported bikes.
  2. Do not drive or drive very carefully on unpaved roads.
  3. Drive very carefully over speed bumps.
  4. During the trip, check regularly if the carrier and bicycles are still properly secured.
  5. Bear in mind the extra volume of your vehicle, e.g. while reversing.
  6. Under no condition exceed the speed of 130 km/h.
  7. Remove the carrier from the vehicle if no bikes are mounted on it.

Regulations

  1. The driver of the vehicle is entirely responsible for the condition of the carrier and the assembly of the carrier and the bicycles.
  2. When using the carrier, the driver must be aware of the local laws. Laws may differ in different countries.
  3. A number plate must be mounted on the carrier at the right location and it must match the number plate of the car.
  4. Speed limits and other traffic laws must be observed.

Maintenance

  1. The user is responsible for correct maintenance and storage of the carrier.
  2. Consult your dealer in case of damage or wear to the carrier or to parts of the carrier.
  3. Clean the carrier regularly with water or car shampoo, especially when used in a salty environment (road salt, driving in coasty areas).
  4. This prevents corrosion and defects to your carrier.
  5. The carrier must be stored in a dry location.
  6. Remove the carrier before entering an automatic car wash.

  1. The statutory warranty applies to this product.
  2. Warranty is provided exclusively in case of manufacturing errors or assembly errors.
  3. Warranty is not provided in case of self-made changes, misuse or damage caused by accidents.
