Product Usage Instructions

OptiGrill Waffle Plates

Recommendations for the use of waffle plates:

  • When using the waffle plates, the OptiGrill must be placed horizontally using the retractable stand provided.
  • Before using the waffle plates for the first time, fit the retractable stand under your grill. This stand allows you to put your grill in two different positions.
  • To cook with the waffle plates, fit the stand folded forwards with the grill positioned horizontally.
  • The stand only needs to be fitted on the grill during first use and should not be removed. For all subsequent uses, the stand can simply be tilted forwards or backwards to the desired position (grill or waffles).

Cooking Instructions:

  1. If the OptiGrill is already on and you want to use your waffle plates, unplug the grill and let it cool down for at least 2 hours.
  2. Put the grill in waffle mode and reattach the drip tray. Open the grill, remove the cooking plates and replace them with the waffle plates. Fit the bottom plate first, then the top plate.
  3. Close and plug in the appliance. Press the On/Off button.
  4. Start preheating the appliance by pressing the OK button. The grill will make a sound to alert you when the desired temperature has been reached. The appliance is ready for use.
  5. Open the appliance and fill the bottom plate with a ladle of batter (do not fill the ladle to the top) until the top of the small squares is covered. The drip tray should be left in case the batter overflows. When this action is complete, close the appliance.
  6. Let cook for 2-3 minutes. Open the device, remove the waffles. You can make a second batch immediately by adding more waffle batter.
  7. End the cooking process by pressing the On/Off button. All the buttons will turn off and the grill will stop cooking. Unplug the appliance and let it cool for 2 hours.

Note: The above instructions are in English.

Recommendations for the use of waffle plates

  • Remove all the packaging, stickers and various accessories from inside and outside of the plates.
  • Carefully read the instructions in this leaflet, which apply to the different models, and keep them close to hand.
  • Refer to the appliance leaflet and safety instructions for using waffle plates.
  • Check that both sides of the plates are clean before use.
  • To avoid damaging the plates, use them only on the appliance for which they were designed (e.g. do not put them in an oven or on a gas or electric hob).
  • Make sure that the plates are stable, well positioned and securely fastened to the base of the appliance. Only use the plates supplied or purchased from the authorised service centre.
  • Always use a plastic or wooden spatula to preserve the coating on the waffle plates.
  • Do not cut food on the plates.
  • Do not immerse the waffle plates in water or place them on a fragile surface while they are hot.
  • To maintain the coating’s non-stick qualities, avoid heating for too long when empty.
  • The waffle plates should never be handled while hot.
  • Never heat up the appliance without the cooking plates.
  • When using for the first time, wash the plates, pour a little oil on them and wipe them with a soft cloth.
  • Do not place cooking utensils on the appliance’s cooking surfaces.
  • We recommend that you use a sponge, warm water and some washing up liquid to clean the waffle plates, then rinse them thoroughly to remove any residue. Dry them gently with a paper towel.
  • Do not use metal scouring pads, steel wool or abrasive cleaning products to clean any part of the grill; use only nylon or non-metal cleaning pads. If you have any difficulties, soak the waffle plates in hot water with washing up liquid.
