URBAN Bonfire Slatwall Backsplash
Product Information
Slatwall Installation
The Slatwall is a modular system that can be installed on a flat surface to create storage space. The product comes with slatwall panels, screws, U-channel, and touch-up paint. The U-channel is used to hide the edge of the slats and provide a finished look. The touch-up paint is used to paint the screw heads to create a uniform look with the rest of the slatwall.
Product Usage
Slatwall Installation
- Ensure that the surface to be covered is flat with no protrusions (nails, bumps, etc.). If using the slatwall as a backsplash behind cabinets, install the countertop first and then set the bottom slat location/level based on that.
- Determine the placement of the most lower slatwall profile section and mark a level line across the entire length of the surface to be covered.
- Place the first 6 slatwall pieces onto the surface with the bottom aligned with the level line. Fix the first piece in place with two screws (one at the top and one at the bottom) with a maximum size #10 pan head screw. Pre-drill if necessary. Do not fully tighten screws.
- Place the next slatwall profile section onto the profile from step 2). Check level. For additional slatwall panels, screw on top only. Do not fully tighten screws.
- Use the provided U-channel to hide the edge of the slats and provide a properly finished look. Slide the U-channel along one side of the slats, fully tightening the screws on that side to pinch it in place. Repeat the procedure for the opposite U-channel. If placing more than one slatwall section side by side, finish one section completely (with U-channel installed on both ends) before moving on to the next section.
- Use the provided Touch-Up Paint to paint the screw heads and create a uniform look with the rest of your slatwall.
- Your slatwall is now ready to use! Hang your favorite cooking tools, bottle of spices, or clip-in planters.
