RISK ANALYSIS ON POTENTIAL MISUSE OF THE TRANSMITTER
Risk | Assessment | Mitigation |
---|---|---|
Mechanical damage | Dropping the transmitter and using the cable as a lifting |
mechanism for carrying the transmitter may damage the housing, magnet, sensor
and cable assembly.
The damage may impair the proper operation of the transmitter.| Handle the
transmitter with care using the housing when carrying it for field
installation. Do not use the cable assembly to hold the transmitter. Do not
drop the transmitter and install according to the installation manual.
Water infiltration| Water infiltration can damage the transmitter if the
housing is not well screwed when the batteries are changed.| Both housing
screws must be equally torqued. A torque of 9 Lbs-in (12.2 Nm) is recommended.
It is recommended to alternate between both screws while tightening them.
Electrical malfunction| Incorrect or reverse termination of the battery will
prevent all operations of the transmitter. In addition, the wrong battery type
used may shorten the operational life span of the transmitter.| Install
correctly according to this installation manual and per the markings on the
battery compartment. Also, install batteries of the type as described in the
installation manual.
Reduced transmitter range| Covering the transmitter with any metal apparatus
will reduce the effective transmission range.| Do not cover the transmitter.
