Please read entire instruction sheet BEFORE installing Intelagate.

HOW TO INSTALL INTELAGATE

The Intelgate system is made up of 2 parts— the Charging Unit that will plug into your truck’s 12V outlet (cigarette lighter socket) and the Tailgate Sensor that simply sticks onto your tailgate.

STEP 1: Unpackage all of the parts.

STEP 2: Plug the Charging Unit into the 12V outlet on your truck’s dashboard. Ensure that power is running to the 12V socket. The blue light on the Charging Unit should illuminate, beep, then blink continuously.
(If there is no light, check the power to the socket. You may need to start your truck or at least power the electronics in the truck by turning the key in the ignition to a position that turns the vehicle’s electrical system on.)

STEP 3: Insert the battery into the Tailgate Sensor unit.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the + side of the battery is facing away from the circuit board. The plus sign should match the + sign direction on the battery holder.

STEP 4: Once the blue light turns from blue to red or green, you are almost finished. Screw the Tailgate Sensor onto the Sensor base. Ensure the cap is fully sealed.
Once the Tailgate Sensor is adhered to your tailgate, it tells the Charging Unit in the cab, if the tailgate is up or down. The Tailgate Sensor should be placed high up on the exterior side of your tailgate in either the left or right hand side of the gate. Do not place the sensor on a wet or dirty tailgate.

STEP 5: For the best bond, clean the exterior area of the tailgate where the sensor will be adhered to. Simply peel the adhesive backer off of the Tailgate Sensor and place onto the surface of the tailgate. Press the sensor against the surface of the tailgate for at least 20 seconds to ensure a good bond.

AFTER INSTALLATION

LED Status Lights on Charging Unit:
Green LED: Tailgate is up ◆
Red LED (Blinking): Tailgate is down ◆
Blue LED (Blinking): Tailgate Sensor is not found
Orange LED (Blinking): Low battery in Tailgate Sensor

TO REPLACE BATTERY

◆ Unscrew the Tailgate Sensor cap from the Sensor base
◆ Replace the battery
◆ Check seal for any damage and make sure that seal is seated properly
◆ Screw cap back on

TROUBLESHOOTING

The Tailgate Sensor may lose its connection with the Charging Unit. If this happens, take the following steps:

Ensure the Charging Unit is plugged into the truck’s 12V outlet
◆ Remove the battery from the Tailgate Sensor. Wait 30 seconds then put battery back into the Tailgate Sensor module
◆Wait for blue light to turn green orblinking red
