Safety warning

  • The washing machine whose lid can be opened during water extraction, it takes 15 seconds or more to completely stop of tub from running.
  • The new hose sets supplied with the appliance are to be used and the old hose sets should not be reused.
  • Please remove items such as coins, buttons, sand and other solid materials from clothing before washing.
  • Check that water faucets are open after connection to the machine, before operation and that pipes are connected correctly.

Installation & Adjustment

Please install and adjust the machine according to the directions contained in this manual. It is very important to follow these directions for the safe operation of the machine  and to ensure your machine operates correctly.

Balance washing machine
Do not install this machine on an incline greater than 2°. Installing the machine on an angle or rough ground will result in unstable running or stoppage of the machine. Please adjust it by the following method:

  1. Confirm it is level;
  2. Lift the side of the machine slightly and twist the adjustable leg. Note: The distance between the washing machine and the wall should be at least 20mm.

Install the bottom plate
The purpose of the bottom plate is to suppress noise from the washing machine during operation.

Steps:

  1. Lay the washer on its back, on a nonabrasive surface.
  2. Place the plate on the bottom of the machine.
  3. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screw ( in the accessory bag) securing the panel to the bottom of the washer.

The new hose sets supplied with the appliance are to be used and that old hose sets should not be reused.

Connection between the water inlet hose jointer and the water faucet

  1. Press the lower end of the lock lever and push down the slider. Take off the water inlet hose jointer from the water inlet hose component. See Figure 1.
  2. Take off the nameplate. Make sure the threading is 4mm above the upper surface of the nut. See Figure 6. If the threading is less than 4mm above the upper surface of the nut. please loosen the screws.Haier-HWM200-BD2178S8-Top-Load-Fully-Automatic-Washing-Machine-Fig- \(9\)
  3. Loosen the screw till the water faucet can be accessed. Put the jointer of the water inlet hose on the faucet. See Figure 2. (If the faucet is too large and the jointer can not be set on the water faucet, please loosen the four screws and take out the bushing in the jointer. The front end of the faucet must be smooth, otherwise it may leak water. See to Figure 3.)
  4. Fasten the four screws evenly. See Figure 4.

Connection between the water inlet hose and the washer

  1. Do not take off the water absorption cushion. Please check if the cushion is dropped or damaged before each usage. If it happens please contact our after-sales department immediately.
  2. Put the nut of the water inlet hose on the valve jointer.
  3. Fasten the nut. Swing it gently to confirm if it’s suitable.

Connection between the jointer

  1. Push down the slider. Insert the water inlet hose into the jointer.
  2. Hang the lock lever to the jointer. Release the slider till a click sound is heard.

Check the connection

  1. Swing the hose gently to confirm if it is fastened and stable.
  2. After installation, open the faucet to check if it leaks.
  3. Do not bend the hose with overstraining.
  4. Before each usage please check if the connection between the jointer of the water inlet hose and the water faucet, and the installation of the water inlet hose are firm, to prevent dropping off.

Dismantle the water inlet hose

  1. Close the water faucet.
  2. Press the locking lever. Push down the slider. Then pull off the water inlet hose. If the machine is used frequently, the jointer of the water inlet hose

Before washing

Preparation before washing

  1. Connect the jointer of the water inlet hose to the water tap. Turn on the water tap.
  2. The washing machine must be properly grounded. Then plug in the power cord to the power socket. Do not ground the washing machine to a gas pipe, water pipe or telephone line.
  3. Put down the drain hose.
Laundry Guidelines
  • Clear the pockets and take out loose items such as coins, soil, pins and other metal objects.
  • Tie any long straps or strings, button up and close zippers.
  • The weight of the laundry shall not exceed the rated capacity of your machine, spread out the laundry before placing it evenly in the tub.
  • Turn the clothing inside out or put it inside the laundry net to prevent excessive vibration or noise on the appliance while the operation is in progress.Haier-HWM200-BD2178S8-Top-Load-Fully-Automatic-Washing-Machine-Fig- \(17\)
  • Check the care label on the clothing, and sort them accordingly before starting the wash.
  • Separate whiteclothecolthe ours.
  • Do not put fabrics that are insoluble in water in the machine.
  • Prewash the soiled clothes and apply detergent directly on the stain before washing.
  • Turn the clothing inside out before washing to minimize the lint build-up after washing.
  • Do not put the laundry contaminated with alcohol, paint thinner, gasoline, benzene and other inflammable or explosive substances into the washing machine.

Operation

Loading the appliance

  • The rated washing capacity refers to the largest dry weight of a load that can be washed.
  • The thickness, size and type of clothes will influence the actual capacity.
  • Do not select more than water level “Mid” for clothes less than 2.0kg, to avoid splashing of water.
  • It is recommended that low-suds/high-efficiency washing powder is used.

Adding Detergent

NOTE:

  • Before using powder detergent, please remove the “blue” liquid detergent tray which serves only for liquid detergent.
  • If powder or liquid detergent has been manually placed in the detergent tray ensure the Smart Dosing option is not selected. Otherwise, too much detergent will be dispensed into the machine and excessive suds may occur.

How to use liquid detergent

  • Before washing, put the detergent liquid into the detergent tray situated on the left-hand side of the drawer, as the above figure shows.
  • The usage and dosage of the detergent should follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

How to use Smart Dosing

  • Before washing, the user can open the automatic drop box cover, and put the liquid detergent into the smart-dosing tray in advance, after starting the machine, it will automatically dose the detergent amount according to the user’s load.
  • If the user does not use the function, they can press the Smart Dosing button to turn it off.
  • Note: no solid detergent, such as washing powder, can be put into the smart dose tray. Do not exceed the MAX line on the box for detergent dispensing capacity.

How to use powdered detergent

  • Remove the blue liquid tray and place the powder detergent directly into the detergent cavity.
  • If you sel the ect“Quick” cycle, it is recommended to se liquid detergent instead of washing powder to ensure the most effective wash performance.
  • Old or poor-quality washing powder may causing caking in the detergent dispenser.
  • Clean the detergent box periodically to ensure that washing power is evenly distributed and remove any detergent buildup.

How to use softener

  • The usage and dosage of the softener should follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Before washing, put the softener into the softener inlet tray. See the above figure. The softener will be dispensed during the last rinse cycle.
  • Do not leave softener in the softener tray for a long time before washing as it could become. solidified and may not be dispensed correctly.

“ ” Child Lock function

  • There is a CHILD LOCK function designed to prevent accidental changes to the washing cycle once the machine has started or when the machine has a delay start modifier. When the CHILD LOCK is activated, all controls will remain inactive.
  • After starting the washing machine by pressing the “ ” button, the user can hold both the “Smart Dosing” and“Function” buttons for 3 seconds, the CHILD LOCK function will turn on and the product will beep 3 times. CL will display on the screen for 2 seconds to indicate that the CHILD LOCK is set.
  • To release the child lock function: push down the “Smart Dosing” button and “Function” button at the same time for more than 3 seconds. After three beep sounds, the child lock function is released. The CHILD LOCK light goes out.

“ Water Level ” button

  • Adjust the water level by choosing the desired water level if required, then press the“ ” button.
  • If there is water inside the tub and the machine can’t detect the laundry load, it will display the water level at “Mid”.
  • If putting in wet laundry inside the tub, it will display the water level at “Mid” and you may adjust the desired water level if required.
  • If the Quick program is selected, it will display the water level at “Low” and you may adjust the desired water level if required.
  • If the Tub Clean function is selected, the water level can’t be adjusted.
  • The actual water level inside the tub may vary from the water level indicated on the control panel. This is subject to the clothing dampness condition which is inside the tub.

“Wash” “Rinse” “Spin” button

  • It applies to all programs except Tub Clean.
  • When choosing the number of rinses, you can choose whether to rinse with reserve water or not according to your needs. During reserve rinsing, it will not drain off water unless press the “ ” button. It will reserve 4 hours if the procedure involves the function of “Rinse” and alarm every 15 minutes.
  • If the time exceeds 4 hours, the procedure will go on and drain water.

“Smart Dosing” button

  • When Smart Dosing is selected the machine will automatically dispense the correct amount of detergent from the Smart Dosing tank based on the sensed load size.
  • The user can adjust the amount of detergent for each program if required. There are 3 levels (Light, Normal, Heavy). The default is Normal.
  • When the indicator light is constantly on, the automatic release function is normal; When the indicator light flashes, the automatic release function is abnormal;
  • Reminder of insufficient detergent: When insufficient detergent is detected, the indicator light flashes;

“Function” button

  • Air Dry
    Press the “Function” button to select the Air Dry function. The purpose is to facilitate faster drying of the laundries at a maximum load capacity of 2.5kg. The Air Dry function couldn’t support under the Delay mode.

  • Reserve Water
    Press the “Function” button to select the Reserve function. The water will remain inside the tub for up to 4 hours. The appliance will send an alarm every 15 minutes to remind the user about the rinse water that is kept inside the tub. You may press the “ ”button to allow the rinse water to drain out from the tub. Otherwise, the water will drain out from the tub automatically once the time’s up. Reserve Water is not applicable for the program Silk, Tub Clean.

  • Soak
    Soak applies to all programs except Silk, and Tub Clean.

“Delay” button

  • The display shows the remaining (in minutes) before the cycle finishes.
  • Press the Delay button and the display will show the remaining time for the cycle to finish (in hours). The indicator flashing to indicate the delay function is activated.
  • Delay duration can be between 1 – 24 hours.
  • Note: If the Delay time is shorter than the expected program time, the unit will be operated immediately. For example, if the end user wants to delay the program completion time to 1 hour later, but the program default completion time is 65 minutes, the program will start promptly.

Jeans| Use this cycle to wear Jeans laundries.
Bedding| Use this cycle to wash sheet loads.
Sports| Use this cycle to wash sports garments like shorts, polo shirts etc. at maximum washing capacity.
Softener Soak| Suitable for dirty laundry washing.
Tub Clean| Cleaning the inner and outer tub to avoid the growth of mildew.

Button Operation and Descriptions
  1. Press the “ ” button to power on/off
  2. Rotate the “ ” knob to select the automatic program
    • When Power is on, the Cotton program is a default program. You may rotate the knob to select the desired program.
    • E.g. Choose Quick program for a small load with lightly soiled laundry. When the Cotton or Jeans program is selected, the Fuzzy logic runs automatically.
    • The Water level, Soak time, Rinse times and Spin time could be altered according to the fabric type and load size.
  3. Press the “ ” buttons to customise the preset options
    • Separate colour from white before loading the machine.
    • During the Rinse cycle, only Spin time could be adjusted. The rest of the cycles will be locked.
    • After choosing the Tub Clean program, the rest of the cycles and settings are not functioning. The machine runs the Tub Clean program
  4. Press the “ ” button to change the water level
    • Fuzzy logic runs automatically for all programs except Tub Clean. It helps to detect the laundry type in the tub and set the suitable water level for the selected washing cycle.
    • The water level can change during the washing cycle. Press the “ ” button then follow the Water Level button to reset the water level. Press the “ ” button again to resume the washing cycle.
  5. Press “ ” the button to select the delay wash function
    • The delay function is an optional choice. Delay time is the time to the end of the program.
    • How to activate the Delay function:
    • Firstly select the program required and press the Delay button.
    • The program indicator light will be off, followed by the Delay (Hours) indicator light up.
    • The delay time shown on the display is the time remaining till the washing cycle is completed.
    • To cancel the delay function, please switch off the machine and switch it on again.
    • Then make a new selection as desired.
    • You may choose to delay the washing completion time between 1 – 24 hour1-hourour intervals).
    • The delay function does not apply to the Tub Clean program.
  6. Press “ ” the button to start the cycle

Cycle Completed
An acoustic signal sounds will be a reminder to the user about the end of the washing cycle and the washing machine will switch off automatically.

Cleaning or Maintenance

Maintenance

  • Remove the power plug before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance.
  • Clean the lint filter(s) and detergent box after each wash,otherwise, it may influence your using the machine.

Clean the detergent box and set it on the control panel seat.

  1. The method of dismantling: Tilt upward pull out and gently.
  2. The method of cleaning: Use a brush and duster cloth to clean it, then flush it with water.
  3. Installation method: tilt upward and push in.

The filter at the water inlet valve may become blocked by impurities in the water supply. Clean it with a plastic bristled brush every two months.

  • The lint filter must be used during washing.
  • It must be cleaned in time after each use.

The methods of dismantling and installing the lint filter are as follows:

  1. Push down the spring piece of the top lint filter to make the claws out of the filter cover, and then pull out the lint filter to get it down.(figure1)
  2. Push the back of the lint filter, and then you can get down it off the front cover of the lint filter.(figure2)
  3. Sweep the lint in the lint filter.
  4. Put the back of the lint filter into the front cover.
  5. Put the lint filter into the filter cover, and make it tight.
  6. Make sure the lint filter is well installed, or it can influence your use.

If the cabinet is dirty, wipe it with a damp cloth

  • Do not wash directly with water.
  • Wipe with a neutral detergent(please check the directions on the detergent bottle first).
  • Do not wipe the machine with thinners, petrol, alcohol or other hash solvents.
  1. After the washing cycle has finished, turn off the water faucet. (If needed, you can remove the water inlet hose).
  2. Do not store water in the washing machine for a long period without completing a wash cycle. Drain the water completely after each wash.
  3. Hang up the power cord and drain hose.
  4. Wipe up any drops of water on the surface of the machine and inside the tub. Leave the lid open for about 1 hour after each wash to evaporate any residual water.
