Wood Burn Instructions
Materials needed: 5g baking soda, 150g water, 2 metal rods Dia.4 or 5mm Len.150mm
Additional items: Rubber or Wood Insulator, Lichtenberg Wood Insulated Gloves, Foot Switch, Crimp Terminals

Place a rubber or wood sheet on the table as an insulator for electrical and heat.
Mix 5g baking soda with 150g water.
Wear Lichtenberg Wood Insulated Gloves and use a Foot Switch.
Ensure tight connections using Crimp Terminals.
Do not touch the probes together when connecting power.

Steps

Crimp 2 terminals(we offer 4 terminals, 2pcs backup) with pliers or crimper, and connect the 2 terminals to the 2 clamps.
Mix 5g baking soda with 150g water, and put a rubber or wood sheet on the table as an insulator for electrical and heat. Leave the neon power supply’s ground yellow-green cable alone.
Wear electrical insulated gloves, brush some baking soda water on the wood surface, not too wet, not too dry, put the two probes on the wood, then connect the power, press the foot switch, press the rocker switch, and wait for several second or minutes to burn.
After burning a while, the wood surface will be dry, please shut the power, then brush some soda water and begin another burn.

Notes

Do not touch the 2 probes each other, when connecting power.
If you do not use electrical insulated gloves and a foot switch, you must shut off the power before brushing water, moving probes and other dangerous actions.

Be sure the Lichtenberg machine(neon sign transformer) and its 2 output cables on an insulated surface.
Unplug, then plug, the neon sign transformer probably will work.
If not work, unplug, absorb or add baking soda water to the Lichtenberg wood surface.
