Product Usage Instructions:
Step 1: Batch Incubation
Start by using the Blue Diamond Incubator for batch incubation, even if it’s just a few eggs. Avoid attempting continuous incubation on your first try.
Step 2: Weekly Load Schedule
R efer to the calendar for the weekly load schedule to ensure proper management of your incubation process.
Step 3: Misting Eggs
Mist the eggs twice a day, except during the last 3 days of incubation. Opening the lid during this time can lead to humidity loss. If necessary, always mist when opening the incubator in the final days.
Step 4: Hatching and Cleaning
Once all eggs have hatched, remove the chicks, clean the hatcher thoroughly, and ensure it is dry before storing. Prepare for the next batch by washing and drying the hatcher.

STEPS TO FOLLOW
-
Use your Blue Diamond Incubator as a batch incubator first. Even if it is just for a couple of eggs. We do not recommend attempting continuous incubation on your first attempt.
-
Set eggs on day (01 – Monday). Set one level per week. We recommend setting eggs on a Monday.
-
Maintain a humidity average of between 45 and 65% in the setter. The emphasis is on average humidity. These machines were not designed to maintain a constant humidity.
Humidity Step 1: Add water to one of the three water refill stations (we recommend a 750ml to 1000ml bottle) and let the machine run for 3 hours. If the humidity does not rise above 60% fill another refill station. DON’T BE ALARMED IF THE HUMIDITY RISES ABOVE 75%.
Once you have established how many refill stations need to be filled for the humidity to rise to above 60% we have our baseline. With the water station/s filled and the humidity above 60% the next step is to wait for the water to evaporate and the humidity to start dropping. We only add water once the humidity alarms below 45%. DON’T BE ALARMED IF THE HUMIDITY DROPS WAY BELOW 45% FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. We are looking for and average humidity across 18 days, a couple of spikes and dips here and there will not cause any harm whatsoever. -
See the calendar for the weekly load schedule.
-
Candle your eggs on day (08 – Tuesday) and discard any infertile eggs.
-
On day (18 – Friday) switch on your hatcher and fill all 3 water stations with water. Let it get to temperature. Candle the eggs again and get rid of infertile eggs. Move your eggs over to the hatcher. Lay them flat on the hatching grid.
*Make sure the water trays stay full. Your humidity cannot be to high during this stage. The high humidity helps soften the eggs shells to make it easier for the chicks to pip. -
Mist the eggs twice a day. Open the lid quickly and mist.
*It is not advisable to open your incubator the last 3 days because you tend to lose humidity if you do. Misting adds more moisture and increases the humidity. If you have to open the incubator during the last couple of days always mist. -
Chicks hatch on day (21 – Monday). It is not unheard of for chicks to hatch on day 22 or 23, so keep the hatcher running. A chick can survive for up to 24 hours without any food or water, in the hatcher after hatching.
-
Once you are certain that all the eggs have been hatched, remove the chicks from the hatcher and place in a brooder. Wash the hatcher thoroughly and do not store it if there is any water or moisture present. After washing your hatcher you are ready for the next batch of eggs arriving on that Friday.
