Important Safety Instructions

Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this product is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.

When using electrical products, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, injury and/or death to persons including the following:

Risk of serious injury or death!

• Do not install the product where it could block the driver’s view of the road or interfere with vehicle operation (steering wheel, rear view mirror, pedals, transmission gear).

• Do not leave the product unsecured on the vehicle’s dashboard.

• Do not install the product or place its power cable where airbags are located.
  It may interfere with the deployment of airbags.

• Keep distractions to a minimum.
  Always focus on driving and be aware of the vehicle’s surroundings.

Not following the above could result in serious injury or death from a vehicle accident or collision.

• This product contains no user serviceable parts and requires little maintenance.
  Leave any servicing or repairs to qualified personnel only.

• Do not attempt to repair the product yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.

• Do not open the product housing. Do not insert any foreign objects into the inside of the housing.

• Place the power cable in such a way that unintentional pulling or entanglement is not possible.

• It is the user’s responsibility to comply with all applicable laws when mounting or using the product. Before mounting the product, check local laws and ordinances where you drive. Some laws prohibit or restrict the placement of an object on the windshield of a motor vehicle.

• It is the user’s responsibility to comply with all applicable laws and rights regarding privacy. In some jurisdictions, it could be considered an invasion of privacy rights to take or publicly display photographs or videos of people or their vehicles without consent while using this product.

• It is the user’s responsibility to comply with all applicable laws regarding audio recording. Some jurisdictions prohibit audio recording inside a vehicle or require that all passengers be notified of the recording and provide consent before being recorded.

• Do not operate the product or the Viidure app while driving.

• When not in use, disconnect the power cable from the 12 V-24 V cigarette lighter socket.

• Avoid touching the camera lens with bare hands to prevent damage.

• Do not let the product come into contact with liquids. In case any liquid has penetrated the product, switch the product off and disconnect the power cable immediately.

Intended Use

• Though this product is intended for monitoring purposes, it cannot guarantee complete protection of a vehicle.
• Some jurisdictions may not accept dash camera recordings as evidence.
• This product is intended to be mounted inside a vehicle to enhance awareness of the vehicle’s surroundings.
• This product is intended to provide addition security in case of break-ins as well as providing evidence of road traffic accidents.
• This product is intended for private use only.
• This product is intended to be used in dry indoor areas only.
• Installing a dash camera could void vehicle warranty.

Product Description

Before First Use

Risk of suffocation!
Keep any packaging materials away from children and pets – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.

• Remove all the packing materials.
• Remove and review all components before use.
• Check the product for transport damages.
• Clean any dirt or residue from the windshield before mounting the product on it.

Operation

Inserting and removing a micro-SD card

• The micro-SD card is not included.
• This product supports a micro-SD card with a maximum capacity of 128 GB and with a read/write speed of Class 10.
• It is recommended to format the micro-SD card through the Viidure app before use.

1. Insert the micro-SD card into the micro-SD card slot.
2. Press it in until it clicks and locks in place.
3. To remove a micro-SD card, disconnect the power cable from the product.
4. When the indicator switches off, push the micro-SD card until it clicks and remove the micro-SD card.

Pairing with the Viidure app

• The product’s WiFi is automatically activated when the product is switched on.
• The WiFi password and SSID can be changed after the first login.
• The product and paired smartphone automatically connect to each other when both are switched on and within range.

1. Download the Viidure app for Android or iOS from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
2. Activate WiFi on the smartphone and select “CAR-DVR-XXXX” from the list of available networks.
3. Enter the default password: 12345678 when prompted.
4. Open the Viidure app.
5. Tap Connect on the app’s main screen to connect to the product and view recording in real time.
6. Tap the back arrow to disconnect from the product.

Basic Viidure app functions
Use the Viidure app on a smartphone to view and manage product settings, to record audio and video and take photos.

Recording stops when accessing Camera File and Camera Settings. It restarts automatically after exiting those options.

Adjusting loop recording

Loop recording allow continuous recording, even when the micro-SD card is full. The product records video clips of specified durations.

1. Tap Camera Settings on the app’s main screen.
2.  Tap Loop Record Options to adjust the recording duration (1 minute or 3 minutes) or disable loop recording.

Collision sensor

When a collision is detected, the product locks current recording video automatically.

1. Tap Camera Settings on the app’s main screen.
2. Tap Collision Sensing to enable or disable the collision sensor.

Installation

• Clean and dry the mounting area to ensure best adhesion.
• The adhesive strip is intended for long term mounting and is difficult to remove.
• The adhesive strip is resistant to temperature changes and UV radiation. If it is necessary to remove the product, do not reuse the same strip. Replace the strip with one of the same type.
• Mount the product beneath or next to the rear view mirror.
• Before installing the product, plan the cable length from the 12 V-24 V cigarette lighter socket to the mounting area to ensure there is sufficient length.

1. Check the camera view on the Viidure app. Make sure the mounting area provides a full, unobstructed view of the road.

2. Peel the protective film from the adhesive strip.

3. Position the mount over the desired mounting area, then press the mount firmly on the windshield and maintain pressure for at least 30 seconds (Fig. 1).
   

4. Connect the USB-C end of the power cable to the USB-C port (Fig. 2).
   

5. Hide the visible part of the power cable by tucking it securely behind the trimmings around the windshield, door frame and the dashboard (Fig. 3). Use the pry tool to lift trimmings to better fit the cable.
   

6. Connect the cigarette lighter plug of the power cable into the vehicle’s 12 V-24 V cigarette lighter socket (Fig. 4).
   

Switching on/off

In some vehicle models, the power supply may continue after turning the vehicle off. Disconnect the power cable from the 12 V-24 V cigarette lighter socket to avoid draining the battery.

1. Connect the power cable to the vehicle’s 12 V-24 V cigarette lighter socket.
2. The product switches on automatically when the vehicle is turned on. The indicator flashes blue if a micro-SD card has been inserted. If there is no micro-SD card present, the indicator is steady blue.
3. To switch the product off manually, press and hold the button.
4. The product switches off immediately after turning the vehicle off.

Video playback and download

For Model: AB-CDC-01 G

• When viewing video files in the Viidure app, a map appears below the video, which displays the location and route taken.
• Tap Download to save the route information and video.
• View and download video files through the Viidure app by selecting Camera File on the main screen.
• To view and download video files on a computer, remove the micro-SD card from the micro-SD card slot. Insert the micro-SD card into a memory card adapter, then connect the adapter to the computer. Follow the instructions for accessing the files on the computer when prompted.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Switch the product off and disconnect the power cable before cleaning.

Cleaning

• To clean the product, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
• Wipe the product dry after cleaning.
• Wipe the camera lens with a microfiber cloth, slightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. Dry the camera lens completely with a dry microfiber cloth.
• Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the product.

Maintenance

Any other servicing than mentioned in this manual should be performed by a professional repair centre.
