Important information

WARNING

  • This jack is a lifting device designed ONLY for lifting part of the total vehicle(i.e. one wheel). Do not move or dolly the vehicle while it is on the jack.
  • Positon this jack to ONLY lift on the areas of the vehicle as specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
  • After lifting the vehicle, ALWAYS support the load with appropriately rated vehicle support stands BEFORE working on the vehicle.
  • Do not overload this jack beyond its rated capacity. Overloading can cause damage to or failure of the jack.
  • This jack is designed ONLY for use on hard level surfaces capable of sustaining the load. Use on other than hard level surfaces can result in jack instability and possible loss of load.
  • Center load on jack saddle BEFORE lifting vehicle. Off-center loads and loads lifted when the jack is not level can cause loss of load or damage to the jack.
  • Study, understand and follow all instruction in this manual BEFORE operating the jack.
  • Failure to heed these warnings may result in collapse of load or damage to the jack and/or jack failure resulting in personal injury or property damage.
  • No alterations may be made to the product.
  • Any discrepancies in regards to machine maintenance and repair work are to be carried out according to the instructions outlined below and exclusively by skilled personnel.
  • Never use speedy lift device to raise load.
  • When lifting vehicles the wheels still in contact with the hard standing should always be “choked”. Do not rely on the hand brake to stop the vehicle from rolling.

Operating principles

With release valve CLOSED

  • An upward stroke of the jack handle draws oil from the reservoir tank into the plunger cavity. Hydraulic pressure holds the valve closed, which keep the oil in the plunger cavity.
  • A downward stroke of the jack handles release oil into the cylinder, which forces the ram out. This raises the saddle (NOTE: Raises if the load exceeds the rated capacity oil is automatically released back into the reservoir through the safety overload valve).
  • When the ram reaches maximum extension, oil is bypassed back into the reservoir to prevent an overextended ram stroke and possible damage to the jack.
  • Opening the release valve allows oil to flow back into the reservoir. This releases hydraulic pressure on the ram, which results in lowering the saddle.

Operating instructions

  1. Assemble handle, front section to larger section using pin provided.
  2. When this jack leaves the factory for shipment, the vent plug on top of the oil chamber is closed to prevent the oil from being spilled. Also the oil chamber contains the ring amount of oil before shipment. If oil spill is evident, or if vent plug was found open, it is necessary to check oil level before pumping.
  3. Open the release valve and pump the handle 6 full stokes to assure complete distribution of oil.
  4. Close the release valve by turning the handle clockwise, and the jack is ready to use.
  5. Block the vehicle’s wheels for lifting stability.
  6. Refer to the vehicle manufacturer owner’s manual to locate approved lifting points on the vehicle. Position jack so that the saddle is centered under the load at an appropriate lift point.
  7. Pump jack handle to speedy lift level until saddle NEARS contact with the vehicle. Check to see that the saddle is centered and will contact the load lifting point firmly. Always center the load on saddle of jack, Off-center loads and loads lifted while jack is not sitting level may damage the jack.
  8. Continue to pump the jack handle to lift the vehicle to the desired height. After lifting, support the load with appropriately rated vehicle support stands BEFORE working on the vehicle.
  9. No person should remain in a vehicle that is being jacked.

Operating instructions

Care and maintenance

  1. when the floor jack is not in use or in storage the lifting arm and pump lever must be in the fully lowered position. This will protect the precision machined surface of the ram piston from corrosion and damage.
  2. keep your jack clean and lubricate, as well as the outside parts see figure 1.
  3. If spare parts are required these can be obtained from you local service centre. Ensure to quote the correct serial No. and part No.
  4. Be carefully not to spill any oil. If oil is spilled, take care to clean up immediately.
  5. As needed, fill the container with specifically blended hydraulic jack oil. Important note: When adding or replacing oil, ALWAYS use good grade hydraulic jack oil. Do NOT use hydraulic brake fluid, Alcohol, Glycerin, Detergent motor oil or dirty oil. Use of an improper fluid can cause serious internal damage to your jack.

Safe transport of the jack

If you have to move the jack from one place to another, you may use the 2 carrying handles A og B, see figure 2.

Be aware of correct lifting technique.

Trouble shooting

If the jack will not raise, or lift the load

  1. The release valve may not tightly closed. To close or tighten, turn the release valve clockwise.
  2. May air is in hydraulic system. To release air from system.
  3. May oil level is low or over-filled in jack. Check the oil lever of the floor jack in the following manner: Place jack on level position, open release valve. Correct oil level is bottom of thread inside oil chamber when lifting arm is at full down position. If tacking oil, remove vent plug located under cover plate. Fill with oil to correct level and tighten plug. Close the release valve and pull lifting arm up to its full height. Then open the release valve and, by stepping on saddle, force it to lower as rapidly as possible. Repeat this operation three to four times. This procedure will thoroughly flush the valves and assure-complete distribution of oil. In most cases it will restore the jack to proper working order. Close release valve tightly. Try jack under load. The jack may have air trapped in system. Open release valve. Pump handle 6 full strokes. Close release valve and try jack again.
  4. Cup seal for pump may be worn. This will happen only after months of service. A new cup seal or a complete new piston can be purchased and easily installed.
  5. Release valve may be held by dirt on seat.. Flush by pulling lifting arm up and down several times while release valve is open. If necessary, the release valve may be removed for cleaning the valve and the valve seat.
  6. Power unit is malfunctioning. To replace the power unit.

If the jack will lift the load, but will not hold.

  1. Oil level may be low in jack, to add oil as required.
  2. Power unit is malfunctioning. To replace the power unit.

If the jack will not lowered completely, when raised.

  1. Return spring for lifting arm may be broken or unhooked. Replace return spring.
  2. t probably needs lubrication.
  3. Clean and oil all moving in the lifting arm mechanism.
  4. Hydraulic unit may contain too much oil and vent valve may be closed.
  5. Check level of oil.

If poor jack lifting, pump feels spongy.

  1. May air is in hydraulic system. To release air from system.
  2. Oil level may be low in jack, to add oil as required.
  3. Power unit is malfunctioning. To replace the power unit.

If the jack will not lift to full height.

  1. May air is in hydraulic system. To release air from system.
  2. Oil level may be low in jack, to add oil as required.

If the handle raises by itself when the jack is under load.

  1. May air is in hydraulic system. To release air from system.

If jack will not lift full 3ton capacity.

  1. The cup seal for piston pump may be worn.
  2. The unit may have air trapped in the system.
  3. The overload valve is factory adjusted for the pack to lift 3tons load and should not be altered. Examine jack for binding, causing loss of load.

Should the fault still exist contact your local service centre
