There may be some off-cuts of material and packaging in your box used to protect the new board in transit which can be responsibly thrown away.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS / INFLATION

If the board was stored at a temperature below 0°C / 32°F, leave it at room temperature for 6 hours before unfolding. Only then inflate it with the pump provided to a pressure between 16 PSI and 20 PSI maximum. We recommend 18-20 PSI for optimal performance. Choose a smooth and clean surface to unfold yourproduct.
Your product is equipped with a removable High-pressure valve. To inflate, open the cap by turning it counter clockwise. Check and make sure the spring- loaded pin is not depressed and locked in the up position. To verify that the valve is not open, push the pin down and turn it clock wise. If the pin stays down, you have now opened that valve. To close it, turn the pin counter clockwise so it springs back up. Now the valve is closed. All inflation is done in the LOCKED UP position and deflation is done in the OPEN  DOWN position. To attach the pump hose to the high pressure valve, use the appropriate nozzles and fittings which are supplied with the high pressure pump (the red rubber ring is the correct one for our boards). Push the fitting into the valve and turn clock wise to lock it. Inflate until you will reach the required pressure. After inflation disconnect the hose from the valve and close the valve with the cap. Please note: It is very rare but should the whole valve assembly become loose, the board will leak from around the outside of the valve. The spanner provided can be used to retighten the valve but only with the board deflated before tightening. The website or Sandbanks Style personnel will be happy to advise on how best to do this.
Max air pressure: The correct pressure for this item is; 20PSI Do not exceed it. The board will perform best when inflated to at least 18PSI. The board is tested up to 29 PSI but it gets no stiffer after 20PSI so there is no benefit going higher. The manual pump supplied will not damage the board so have confidence to pump hard.
When you first inflate the board you may have the impression that the board is already stiff before the  pressure gauge even starts to register. Just have confidence and keep on pumping. Initially set the pump to double action for the most rapid inflation, but it will become hard to pump upwards by about 4 PSI and then set it to single (down stroke only) for the remainder of the inflation. See the Sandbanks Style website for more details on how to make pumping easier. Varying the muscles used throughout pumping is the key to this. Try standing over the pump with arms locked and drop your weight over the pump by bending your legs. In the case of Over-pressure: deflate until you reach the recommended pressure by gently pressing on the valve stem, note that air will rush out fast with a loud sound. If pressure is too low: inflate again to desired level.

Single Action Double Action

When you first start inflating it’s best to have the leaver at the back of the pump turned to the right. In this setting the pump will work on double action, pumping on both the up and the down stroke. When this gets too difficult twist the leaver to the left and the pump will swap to single action. In this setting the pump will only act on the down stroke which will make it much easier for you and your arms.
Tip: At higher pressure it’s best to do shorter strokes while keeping your
arms locked and bending your legs to let your body weight do the work.

WARNING!
f you leave your iSUP exposed to the hot sun check the pressure and deflate it slightly, otherwise the material might be overstretched. Always remove some air if you are going to leave your board exposed in hot sunshine. Our boards have a lot of safety margin but Catastrophic damage can result from over pressure bursting the board. This is not covered by warranty.
The ambient temperature affects the tube’s internal pressure: a variation of 10°C causes a variation of the pressure in the tube by about 0.4bar or 6PSI

PADDLE ASSEMBLEY AND ADJUSTMENT

The Fibreglass paddle is easily assembled. Connect the section with the paddle blade to the handle section by inserting the tubes together. Press on the button to enable insertion. Push the collar clip down onto tube to lock the two halves together. If they are not tightly locked together use a screwdriver clockwise to tighten it and try again. Closing the collar clip should only ever require finger pressure, take care not to over tighten the clips. To disassemble the paddle open the collar clip and pull the two halves apart. Try not to let sand or dirt into the join as these will make it hard to connect and disconnect these pieces. Always take the paddle back to its 3 pieces after use in seawater and wash the joins in fresh water.
To adjust the paddle length, open the top handle collar clip to loosen, then extend to desired length before twisting clockwise to retighten. This clip can be adjusted in the same manner as above, again be careful not to over tighten. The Fiberglass paddle is adjusted by opening the lever and clamping shut at any length you wish up to the Max indicator, do not exceed this. Adjust the height so that when on dry land with the blade of the paddle vertical beside your feet, the handle should be at maximum you can comfortably reach and hold above your head. When the length is correct, tighten the collar clockwise until it is tight and the tubes will now be locked in length. There is an approximate height gauge shown on the top section of the paddle.
To attach the leash is very simple and can be done in a couple of different ways depending on whether your board has a D-ring at the rear or a handle.

Attaching Leashes and Belts

Attaching The Ankle Leash to Your Board

Attaching Leashes And Belts

  1. Undo the Velcro and pull the loop tie through the D-ring then bring the loop back over the top of the open Velcro.
  2. Close Up the Velcro over the loop tie and your leash will be secure.
  3. Strap the other end of the leash around your ankle.
The coiled part of the leash should be dragging straight behind you to avoid entanglement.

Leash maintenance

Your leash is a vital piece of equipment. It’s the one thing that is keeping you connected to your board which is one of your main sources of buoyancy while you’re out on the water. It is therefore very important that you check your leash for cracks and other signs of degradation before you head out on the water. If your leash is cracked, brittle or over stretched then we strongly recommend that you replace your leash.
How often you replace your leash depends on how well you look after it. Washing your leash off with fresh water after use, keeping it out of the sun while you’re not using it and not over stretching your leash are all great habits for you to get into to help your leash last longer.
Your leash is covered by a 1-year warranty and we will replace it if it breaks within a year of your original purchase however, Sandbanks accepts no liability should anything happen to you if your leash breaks.

Attaching Your Quick Release Belt

Attaching Your Quick Release Belt

  1. Find the loop at  the back of the quick release belt and thread the Velcro strap of your ankle leash through it like so.
  2. Put the belt around your waist keeping the buckle directly in front of you. Thread the tail of the belt through the buckle, making sure that the webbing runs flat all the way through the buckle. Close the buckle once the belt is tight.
  3. Thread the tale of the belt through the retaining  loop to prevent it fromg etting in the way while you are paddling.
  4. If you wish to release yourself from your board then all you need to do is pull the yellow toggle on the front of the buckle.

OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS

WARNING !

  • BEWARE OF OFFSHORE WINDS AND CURRENTS!
  • ALWAYS WEAR AN APPROVED BOUYANCY AID
  • Get informed on local regulations and hazards related to this sport or water activities.
  • Learn about your boarding area. Ask locals about tides and currents.
  • Before using the product, please check it carefully.
  • Be careful that you do not overestimate your strength, your endurance or your skill
  • Do not exceed the authorized number of persons or weight.
  • Avoid all contact with sharp objects like rocks, shells, broken glass metal etc.
  • Use the correct type of leash with safety quick release if on a river.

MAINTENANCE: DEFLATING – FOLDING THE BOARD – CLEANING – WINTER STORAGE

  1. Remove the fin, the leash and anything under the luggage straps.
  2. Lay the board of a roughly flat surface taking care there are no sharp objects beneath.
  3. To deflate, unscrew the valve cover’ and gently press down the valve stem. Air will rush out with a loud sound, after a few seconds and the highest pressure is released press the valve stem further and twist it to lock it open. Kneel at the front of the board and fold about a 9”(22CM) back on itself . Then fold the next section around this and continue for the whole length of the board. Pushing down on each folded section will expel all the air. Do not rush and wait for the air to disappear before each fold. It should only take a minute for the board to be fully folded, then put the strap around and tighten and be ready to fit back into the backpack carry bag.
  4. Clean and check the item as well as all the accessories after each use. Rinse them thoroughly making sure to remove any residues of salt and sand, if used in salt water or at a beach. Use a mild soapy solution, do not use detergents or any type of silicone based products. Make sure the product is completely dry before putting it away.
  5. When storing your inflatable, keep it in a clean and dry place that is not affected from major variations in temperature and other damaging factors. You may store it  deflated and rolled up in a bag or assembled and lightly inflated (make sure you do not subject it to deformations). Store it away from rodents.

HOW TO REPAIR SMALL PUNCTURES (These are very rare, we suggest you phone us first) Only a blade or nail will pierce the board, shells and rocks etc. should not cause problems.

You can repair small punctures with the included repair kit. Please note that in order for the repair to be successful, the humidity level should be less than 60%, temperature between 65° F/77° F or 18°C/25° C. Avoid carrying out repairs in the rain or in direct sunlight.

  1. Draw the shape of the patch exactly where it will be applied, cut a round patch at least 2” / 5 cm larger than the cut/damaged area.
  2. Clean the damaged area and the corresponding side of the patch with a grease remover of the alcohol type and allow for it to dry for 5 minutes.
  3. Apply 3 thin layers of glue on both the patch and the damaged area, allow for it to dry for 5 minutes between layers until the glue feels tacky.
  4.  When the third layer of glue is dry, apply the patch without pressing and adjust the positioning if required, press the air bubbles which may have formed under the patch by smoothing the patch with a round object such as a spoon, do this procedure by starting in the center of the patch towards the outside, clean the excess glue with a solvent. Allow to Dry for: 24 hours.

Warning!

Perform all of your repairs in a well- ventilated area Avoid inhaling glue vapors or swallowing.| Avoid contact with the skin or the eyes Keep all repair materials (glue, solvents) away from children

N.B. Repairs on the welded joins must not be glued. Only the manufacturer of the board can perform repairs on the welded seams.
The Pump needs periodic maintenance depending on how much it is used. Unscrew the small cross head screw with an appropriate screw driver. Pull off the top section of the pump. Apply silicone grease or Vaseline liberally to the large sealing washer which contacts the outside rim of the pump. Replace the top and screw together. If the washer dries out, pumping effort will first increase, then it will fail and need to be replaced.
Valve
If the main valve fails, by for example getting ingress of sand dirt, or water, it is possible to replace it and the rubber washer seals within. The supplied tool is required to unscrew the outer top section of the valve whilst putting friction pressure on the lower half through the deflated board to hold it in place whilst you unscrew the top section. This must be done very carefully to avoid damaging any of the components or the material of the board. We suggest you contact us before attempting such a repair, which could invalidate the warranty.
Note : if the valve becomes loose the board will leak air from around the valve surround, simply tighten the valve with the valve spanner to make it tight and stop the leakage. The board must be deflated before tightening the valve.
It is important that the pump connector be kept clean and must be sand and dirt free before connecting it to the board. This is very important if you are on a sandy beach. Sand is a natural enemy to a good airtight seal and will quickly reduce the life of the components. If the connector does get sandy, wash it off with clean water and dry it before connecting to the board.
