Product Usage Instructions

  1. To set up your Max Coupler, you will need either our Adjustable Channel Mount (MC212) or a ball mount that puts the mounting surface at the height you need for your trailer.
  2. The jam nut should be hand tight.
  3. Drop the assembly onto the ball mount to install the washer and nylon locking nut.
  4. It is recommended to use serviceable thread locking compound for extra insurance against loosening.
  5. Torque the nut to 100 ft/lbs.
  6. Check the assembly again after a couple hundred miles and periodically when towing to ensure the entire assembly is secure.
  7. Lubricate the assembly with a couple of squirts of grease periodically, depending on how much you drive and the conditions.
  8. If you encounter wet, muddy conditions, it is recommended to thoroughly clean and re-grease the assembly before storing.
