Product Usage Instructions

Getting the Look

To achieve the popular lighting combination of Ellis and Perch Lights, follow these steps:

  1. Hang the 56-inch wide Ellis and 40-inch wide Perch fixtures about 18 inches apart.
  2. Ensure Ellis is hung 5 inches lower than Perch.

Height Recommendations

Consider the following guidelines for hanging the fixtures:

  • Lowest fixture should be 30-36 inches above a counter or tabletop.
  • If fixtures are above an island and used for standing, hang them at the higher end of the range.

Calculating Overall Height (OAH)

To calculate OAH for each fixture, use the following formula:

  • Ellis Light OAH: Ceiling Height – Counter Height – 36 inches clearance above countertop
  • Perch Light OAH: Ceiling Height – Counter Height – 41 inches clearance above countertop

FAQ

  • Q: What is the recommended clearance above the countertop?
    • A: It is recommended to have a minimum clearance of 30-36 inches above the countertop for hanging the fixtures.

GET THE LOOK

One of our most popular lighting combinations is a pairing of our Ellis and Perch Lights. To achieve the look shown below, we recommend hanging the 56” wide Ellis and 40” wide Perch fixtures about 18 inches apart, with the Ellis 5” lower than the Perch.

We always recommend that the lowest fixture is 30”-36” above a counter or tabletop, taking into account the height of the people in your household, and how you will use the space. If these fixtures will be hung above an island and you will be standing at your island more often than sitting, we \ recommend hanging your fixtures at the higher end of the suggested range.

To calculate the overall height (OAH) for each fixture, you will need to confirm the height of your ceiling and table or countertop. For example, if you have an 8ft (or 96”) ceiling and you would like the lower light to be 36” above your 36”h countertop, the formula to determine each pendant OAH is below:

ELLIS LIGHT OAH = CEILING HEIGHT (96”) – COUNTER HEIGHT (36”) – 36” CLEARANCE ABOVE COUNTERTOP = 24” OAH
PERCH LIGHT OAH = CEILING HEIGHT (96”) – COUNTER HEIGHT (36”) – 41” CLEARANCE ABOVE COUNTERTOP = 19” OAH
