BIG Daishowa MEGA ER GRIP ER11 Cutter

Product Information

Product Usage Instructions

TO REMOVE AND INSERT THE COLLET

  1. Rib Fit: Fit the circumferential groove of the collet into the large rib behind the MEGA ER GRIP mark. Push the collet behind theBIG logo.
  2. Push: Push the collet from the BIG logo side in the direction of the arrow.
  3. Collet Remover: If it is difficult to remove the collet byfinger, use a Collet Remover tool (sold separately).

TO INSERT THE COLLET

  1. Rib Fit: Fit the circumferential groove of the collet into the large rib behind the MEGA ER GRIP mark. Push the collet behind the BIG logo.
  2. Push: Push the collet from the BIG logo side in the direction of the arrow.

TO REMOVE THE COLLET

  1. Depress: Depress the collet from the BIG logo side in the direction of the arrow.
  2. Collet Remover: If it is difficult to remove the collet by finger, use a Collet Remover tool (sold separately).

HOW TO USE MEGA WRENCH

ASSEMBLE:

  1. Slide: Slide the MEGA WRENCH over the nut to leave the face marked LOCK nearer the cutting tool.
  2. Rotate: Rotate the MEGA WRENCH in the direction of the arrow, applying the appropriate tightening torque.

DISASSEMBLE:

  1. Slide: Slide the MEGA WRENCH over the nut to leave the face marked OPEN nearer the cutting tool.
  2. Rotate: Rotate the MEGA WRENCH in the direction of the arrow to ensure the nut achieves its free position.
  3. Disassemble: Disassemble the cutting tool.

Note: To ease the application of the MEGA WRENCH to the chuck, it is suggested to rotate in the reverse direction while sliding into position.

CAUTION:

  • Never clamp the nut without inserting a cutting tool.
  • Never use a chuck that has been damaged, has cracks, or excessive runout.
  • Never use a cutting tool with a shank below the minimum of the collet.
  • Remove any flaws, traces of oil, and particles from both the inside of the collet and the cutting tool.

Please read these instructions before use and keep them where the operator may refer to them whenever necessary.

SPECIFICATION

(Min. clamping length)
The length of the cutting tool shank which is inserted into the chuck must be longer than the min. clamping length.

  • MEGA ER thread size = ISO 15488
  • ERC collet = DIN 6499 , ISO 15488 Form B
  1. recommend our own make of pullstud. It should be replaced every two years
  2. DO NOT USE any pullstud which has damage marks to its draw head area or is deformed.

Do not use collets or nuts from other manufacturers to maintain the optimum accuracy.

  • CAUTION

  • The collet must be fitted into the nut before assembling into the body.

HOW TO USE MEGA WRENCH

ASSEMBLE

Slide the MEGA WRENCH over the nut to leave the face marked “LOCK” nearer the cutting tool. Rotate the MEGA WRENCH in the direction of the arrow applying the appropriate tightening torque

DISASSEMBLE

Slide the MEGA WRENCH over the nut to leave the face marked “OPEN” nearer the cutting tool. Rotate the MEGA WRENCH in the direction of the arrow ensuring the nut achieves its free position. Then disassemble the cutting tool.

  • To ease the application of the MEGA WRENCH to the chuck it is suggested to  rotate in the reverse direction while sliding into position.

CAUTION

ASSEMBLY OF THE CUTTING TOOL

  1. NEVER clamp the nut without inserting cutting tool.
  2. NEVER USE any chuck which has been damaged, has cracks or excessive runout.
  3. NEVER USE a cutting tool which has a shank below the minimum of the collet.
  4. Remove any flaws and traces of oil and particles from both the inside of the chuck and cutting tool shank.
  5. DO NOT USE any cutting tool which shows wear to its second rake of more than 0.2mm(.0079″).
  6. DO NOT USE a cutting tool with notches or flats on the shank.
  7. The cutting tool should be held via a cloth or similar to avoid injury

DURING OPERATION

  1. DO NOT continue if vibration / chatter is experienced.
  2. DO NOT touch the chuck or cutting tool while the spindle is revolving.
